Quick Transmigration: Irresistible Beauty

Chapter 338: Blackened Junior Sister (43)

The journey from the southwest to the Central Plains was long and harsh. So how could the Sky Breeze Sect and the Grand Martial Temple locate her in the Central Plains so quickly? This was not the 21st century, and communications were not so advanced here even with the usage of spiritual power that only a few out of the majority could employ.

Besides, those enemies of hers had just found out the inn that she had stayed in earlier. How could her whereabouts be discovered so soon when she had thoroughly disguised herself before going out?

"It seems that now is not the right time to have a heart-to-heart talk," Shu Yu said and sighed a little glumly.

The young man gazed out the window as though he had felt a few fluctuations of spiritual power pulsing outside.

"Long Yuan, head toward the imperial city and find a chance to escape," Yue Ran said, sending the voice transmission to Long Yuan. "Tell Hai Bing Tu to take Lan Jin and hide somewhere in the direction of the White Jade Snow Mountain."

"Yes, master," Long Yuan replied.

The sword spirit was eager to inquire further about how Yue Ran would escape herself, but he suddenly thought of his identity. He is merely her subordinate and her sword.

He was simply responsible for executing her orders. He does not have any right or authority to question her. So Long Yuan swallowed the words he wanted to ask and turned to do as Yue Ran had instructed.

"If you have nothing more to say to me, then I will take my leave," Yue Ran said, turning her attention to the young man across from her, already planning to find the most effective way to escape out of here without getting caught.

"Are those people coming for you?" questioned Shu Ye.

"That is right," Yue Ran said, not denying his words.

"You can just stay here," Shu Ye said. "As long as you are in the territory of the Dark Sky Pavilion, I can protect you."

The young man spoke in a tone that was full of arrogance. Noticing that Yue Ran still held some doubts in her eyes, he crossed his arms and explained.

"Whether you are an enemy or a friend, I can't let you go easily if you have any relation to the Exalted Sea Sect," Shu Ye stated.

Yue Ran frowned. At first, she assumed that Shu Ye had no ill intentions towards her, but she might have been mistaken.

Initially, Yue Ran deemed that she would be able to flee without any problem because her trouble may involve the Dark Sky Pavilion, so she could leave first before returning at a later date. This thought was why she had ordered Long Yuan to evacuate as soon as possible. But she did not expect that the Exalted Sea Sect was so crucial to Shu Ye that he would risk saving her from an unknown enemy, even when he himself was not sure whether she was a friend or a foe.

Nonetheless, now that Shu Ye has shown his intention to protect her at this moment, Yue Ran can save herself more time and effort. With such help, Yue Ran does not need to take any action and could first deal with the pursuit of the Grand Martial Temple and the Sky Breeze Sect before dealing with Shu Ye afterward.

Yue Ran: There is no need to waste energy when there is no need to.

"Do not go too far away and listen to my instructions," Yue Ran sent a voice transmission to Long Yuan.

"Understood, master," Long Yuan answered before choosing to add, "You… have to be careful yourself."

"Hm, I know," Yue Ran said. "You have to be careful yourself, too."

Long Yuan could not help but utter one more sentence this time. Surprisingly, not only did he not upset and make Yue Ran angry even if he had acted out of bounds, but he also received a response, which made him feel a little at ease.

At this time, at Yue Ran's side, shouts and footsteps could be heard from the perimeter of the gambling establishment. Even Yue Ran was able to sense the shift in spiritual power from a distance away. In just a few breaths, the people from the Grand Martial Temple, the Sky Breeze Sect, and numerous other sects had already rushed to the ground floor of the gambling house, and Yue Ran could vaguely make out a familiar voice shouting above the clamor.

"I will not be mistaken! I did not see things wrongly! I clearly saw that Yue Ran had come in here! In this Diamond Dreams Casino! She must be hiding inside!"

These statements came from a familiar shrill voice. It was an obnoxious voice, one that Yue Ran herself would not forget anytime soon.

This voice came from, not surprisingly, Fan Yu Yu.

Yue Ran naturally remembered who Fan Yu Yu was. How could she forget? Fan Yu Yu is a spoiled noble young lady who had irked and offended her (Yue Ran) again and again on her way to the Central Plains and consequently had gotten her (Fan Yu Yu's) face scratched by Lan Jin.

It turned out that someone had snitched and shown the way for the people of the Grand Martial Temple, the Sky Breeze Sect, and the other sects. And that someone is Fan Yu Yu! It was no wonder that they could locate her (Yue Ran's) position so quickly with no trouble.

Yue Ran's eyes glinted coldly, and her initially cold temperament grew even more inaccessible.

Several hidden guards knocked on the door of the room, seemingly asking for Shu Ye's subsequent instructions without the need to utter any words.

"Let them check the place," Shu Ye spoke to them calmly from inside the room. "Be careful not to startle the snake."

(*Startle the snake: Take an action that will surprise, startle, and perhaps frighten the enemy.)
