Quick Transmigration: Irresistible Beauty

Chapter 291: The Gentle Psychiatrist (61)

Seeing that Yue Ran did not refuse or reject his approach, Cheng Ying was filled with more courage in his heart. He blinked in thought, tried to test the waters, and made the decision to push the boundary even further.

"I miss you," Cheng Ying said softly to Yue Ran. "Do you miss me?"

The young man was wearing a black button-up shirt, and he was now undoing a few upper buttons, one button after the other, at this moment. His Adam's apple was rolling up and down, as if showing the current feelings he had at this time for the young woman in front of him.

After doing so, Cheng Ying murmured softly as he held the young woman in his arms with both hands open.

"Of course I miss you, my puppy," Yue Ran replied in a luring tone.

The young woman smiled and set down the document she was holding in her hand.

Cheng Ying was not at all unhappy when he heard how Yue Ran addressed him. On the contrary, he picked her up affectionately and sat directly on her chair. In this way, Yue Ran was seated on the lap of the young man while he occupied the chair.

Cheng Ying circled Yue Ran's figure from behind with his arms. His hands moved restlessly, and his nose rubbed the back of her neck with undeniable affection and fondness. A jet of hot air sprayed out every time he let out an exhale.

"I want to... stick to you," Cheng Ying said in a quiet murmur.

Yue Ran chuckled as she said, "We are now sticking so close that we might as well be one."

The expression on the face of the young man remained calm and composed, and there was no change in his expression. The only sign of an emotional shift was a pair of eyes that were filled with endless lust and possessiveness.

"It is not enough," Cheng Ying said, and Yue Ran could feel the heat of his words hitting her neck.

This is not enough. Not enough for him anyway.

He wants to be able to cling to her, to stick to her all day long and all the time, so much so that they will never be apart ever again; so that they never have to be separated again.

"You are such a greedy puppy," Yue Ran remarked with a calm and gentle voice before she suddenly let out a soft hiss. "Do not be so anxious."

The reason Yue Ran hissed softly was because she felt the young man bite her shoulder and neck. When the mouth of Cheng Ying left Yue Ran, he could see his toothmarks left behind on her porcelain white skin, making his eyes slightly curve in joy and satisfaction.

The response from Cheng Ying was, "Woof woof."

Yes, he is indeed a greedy puppy.

...

The next day, Yue Ran went back home after she had gotten off work, and she changed into a more formal dress right after a quick shower.

The off-shoulder, high-low white fishtail dress with a cinched waist and flowing mermaid silhouette showcased the young woman's stunning shoulders, collarbones, and neck, showing off a stunning hourglass figure and giving the impression that her legs were longer than they looked. This was with the addition of a slit in the front and a sweeping train behind her.

Yue Ran also paired her dress with a single pearl necklace that rested in between her collarbones around her neck. And on her feet were a pair of diamond glitter high heels with crushed ice diamonds, which is a new fashion trend for the season.

While brilliant cut diamonds have an orderly arrangement of facets that maximizes light reflection, crushed ice diamonds tend to display more glimmering sparkle since they have a more intricate and random pattern of facets compared to brilliant cut diamonds.

Yue Ran casually brushed through her long, black hair with a hairbrush to smooth it before perfecting her brows and applying eyeliner to her eyes. Just those three minor adjustments on her had considerably made her entire appearance and her whole person look much more delicate and less distant and cold.

When Cheng Ying arrived to pick up the young woman for the banquet tonight, he was stunned and turned a little dazed when his eyes met her figure at first sight.

The young man rarely saw Yue Ran dressing up in fancy clothes. In his impression, the young woman was so gentle and quiet most of the time; if not, then at all times. She was either dressed in a plain, earth-toned, simple outfit or a white one most of the time.

If one were to count it this way, today was actually the first time for Cheng Ying to see Yue Ran wearing a dress.

Yue Ran blinked and inquired with a smile, "Let us go?"

"No, I do not want to go anymore," the young man said in a sulky tone.

Cheng Ying quickly stepped forward to approach the young woman. In one swift movement, he hugged her into his arms, his voice sounding a little muffled as he pressed his face on the shoulder of the young woman.

The young man was dressed in a black business suit today. No one was sure whether it was to overcome the fear in his heart and to get over his phobia as soon as possible or for other reasons, but he often wore clothes with the color black during this period of time.

Yue Ran pictured the entire appearance of Cheng Ying from head to toe in her mind before he stuck to her side.

She could recall that the male protagonist was wearing a designer black suit with dark patterns, and an extremely slim-fitting deep V-neck black vest was worn underneath. This outfit highlights the young man's inverted pyramid-shaped figure with an excellent head-to-shoulder ratio.

Such an appearance added an allure of maturity to Cheng Ying, like an aging wine, low-key yet luxurious and mellow.

"Why do you not want to go all of a sudden?" Yue Ran asked the young man with a raised brow and a gentle smile that was ever-present on her face.

"I am not sure," Cheng Ying replied. "I just want to be with you."

The young man rubbed his face against the exposed skin on Yue Ran's shoulder and neck. The scent of the young woman's body made him feel very calm and relaxed when he breathed in and out.

"Seriously…" Yue Ran's voice trailed off at the end before she let out a helpless sigh. "All right, that is enough. Stop acting like such a spoiled brat."

Cheng Ying let out a soft murmur that came out of his throat and somehow sounded like a protest, which may just be it. He drew the young woman into his arms, brought her closer to him, and pressed her tightly against him. He then held her in his arms and kissed her for a full quarter of an hour before he finally agreed for them to get in the car.

Yue Ran had no choice but to reapply her lipstick again and tidy up her "unintentionally" messed-up dress when she was sitting in the passenger seat to make sure that she would look presentable and flawless without a fault.

When they got to their destination, Cheng Ying and Yue Ran had undoubtedly captured the attention of the majority of people in the venue. This was due to the fact that one of them was the star of the dinner party that evening, and the other one... the other one was simply so stunning that she effortlessly dazzled the eyes and attention of the people around.

After the banquet had begun, Yue Ran also met Cheng Ying's grandfather, and the two had a brief but courteous conversation by exchanging a few polite words. Cheng Ying's parents had also come over to express their gratitude to Yue Ran for the great "contributions" that she had put in for Cheng Ying's recovery.

There were also some of Yue Ran's old friends and classmates at the banquet.

After engaging in conversation and socializing with individuals she knew and could recognize, Yue Ran took a glass of wine and found a deserted garden to sit and rest for a while. However, not even a minute after she had sat herself down, she noticed a man walking in her direction.

Well, how could she not when there were only her and him in this vacant area?

The young woman had caught his stare in the banquet hall just now, so it was very likely that the man was approaching her with some kind of malicious intent.

"You were the one who cured that waste?" The man asked with evident contempt.

The man in a formal suit came out holding a wine glass. He appeared to be mildly inebriated, and the tone he used was full of disdain.

Yue Ran merely took a sidelong glance at the man who came over and remained silent.

"Hey, I am talking to you," the man said while maintaining a direct gaze on Yue Ran. "Are you the psychiatrist who cured Cheng Ying?"

The man felt very dissatisfied and unhappy with the attitude that Yue Ran had shown him and thus walked up to her and slowly but pointedly asked her every word.

"That is correct," Yue Ran said. She then gave the man a pensive look, her eyes scanning him up and down as if to inspect him, and she looked him with a slight frown.
