Primordial God Of Time

Chapter 65: Meeting The Cousins... Encountering The Mastermind's Pawn

Kranos appeared in front of a building similar to the others. All the buildings were alike, approximately thirty square meters, each with a courtyard for training and an array that served as a barrier against disturbance.

At the entrance of the array, all Kranos needed to do was infuse mana into it, and it would recognize him as the master of the house. Kranos was immediately fascinated by the mechanics of the array and formations.

They were vastly different from those of the previous planet, like the difference between heaven and earth, a significant gap. Upon entering the house, Kranos discovered a manual placed atop the bed.

Picking it up to read, Kranos realized it was essentially a guide containing a complete set of information about the academy. He also discovered another use for points: he could make his courtyard's view obstructed from prying eyes.

This was also a function of the array, only it needed points to activate. Kranos was stunned. He read further and also realized certain things, such as one could complete various missions of varying difficulties to gain the corresponding merit points, and so on.

After going through all the information, Kranos put the book away and lay on the bed. It was soft to the touch, and his body slowly grew tired. Throughout his stay in the lower realm, it had been fraught with dangers. Although Kranos appeared calm, if it wasn't for his intellect as an old man and his comprehension of the corresponding time-related ability, Kranos felt he would have most likely died in the lower realm.

With a sigh, he slowly drifted off to sleep…

---

In the blink of an eye, a week went by uneventfully. Although there were some disturbances, seemingly cultivators fighting and so on, Kranos didn't participate in the spectacle. He focused fully on cultivation.

He felt that sooner or later, he would grasp the fourth strand of time essence and step into the fourth-stage Time Core Realm. However, while Kranos was lost in cultivation, faint footsteps resounded, and Kranos could guess that it wasn't just one, but many. He immediately understood that the seniors the elder spoke of had arrived.

He adorned his white robe and immediately left his courtyard, heading to the entrance. With a flash, he appeared where the others were. He glanced around and noticed the cultivators staring curiously at the pair of seniors at the entrance.

Kranos noticed that they were all dressed in casual blue robes, numbered up to 10, and had varying weapons on them. Kranos also noticed a familiar figure among them…

The figure also seemed to notice Kranos's gaze.

"Fourth brother," the voice called out softly.

Kranos also greeted in return,

"Greetings, First Brother."

The young man, who was older than Kranos by two years, nodded, and among the crowd, he also spotted his other cousins. After they exchanged a slight greeting, the young cultivator in the lead spoke up.

---

"Basically, the academy requires you to learn some basic things, which include martial techniques, cultivation techniques, elemental techniques, side professions like weapons crafting, alchemy, arrays and formations, and so on."

"Of course, in order to learn these, you need to pay in points. Concerning how to check how many points you have, just head to the shopping pavilion and pass them your token; how many points you have will be registered."

After explaining some basic things, he then turned to Kranos and the others, Thank you for reading. This was brought to you by M|V|L*EMPYR.

"You, you, and you," pointing out some ten cultivators, the senior said,

"I will show you to your classes, since you all belong to the Alpha class."

After he was done, he left with the ten he pointed out. Soon after, the next senior also pointed out some cultivators to follow him. Kranos's cousin also called out Kranos and his two cousins along with some other cultivators.

Kranos immediately followed along as he led them out. Along the way, he noticed that they passed along a path paved with grasses and trees, and in a few strides, they were gradually approaching where Kranos could see a couple of buildings.

---

"How was your descent, Junior Brothers and Sister?" At this moment, Carlos, Kranos's first brother, suddenly asked.

Kranos was just about to respond when his second brother spoke up,

"First brother, you won't believe it, the world I appeared in was actually controlled by the Imperial Family. There were even a couple of people at the Monarch Realm!"

"Fortunately, I was quick-witted and knew how to take advantage of the situation. I quickly became a disciple of one of them, and my cultivation improved by leaps and bounds."

"In the meantime, I secretly distributed the cultivation resources I brought to the commoners there." Mark continued to recount the events of his descent, causing Kranos to frown slightly.

He noticed that although there was slight danger in Mark's world, it didn't seem to be as great as his. However, he didn't ponder on it much. He decided to ask about the details of some other people's descent before figuring if something went wrong in his case.

---

"What a fascinating story," Carlos chuckled and praised. He then turned to Hanna and asked,

"How about yours? What was your world like?"

Hanna also recounted her experiences, which were quite similar to Mark's own. Kranos also noticed the presence of little to no danger in her descent. Although his expression was calm, inwardly he could already guess something was wrong.

His thoughts immediately wandered to the assassination attempts from previous years. Although the mastermind still hadn't been revealed, Kranos knew that someone was still plotting his death.

"Academy life won't be as peaceful as I thought, huh?"

Kranos faintly guessed. As a reincarnated old man, he could already imagine all sorts of tricks the mastermind would play: messing with his missions, tampering with his training through distractions, and so on.

However… Kranos smiled faintly. He didn't care about that. All he needed to do was keep a low profile and grow steadily. In no time, he would catch up with the mastermind and then have a hearty talk with him about why they wanted to take his life.

---

At this moment, Carlos then turned to Kranos and asked,

"How about you, Junior Brother? What was your descent about?"

What no one noticed was the fleeting glint in his eyes as he spoke.

However, Kranos caught it…

"So you're the first one, huh?"
