Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Flash Fearow!?

"Forget it, maybe it was an accident."

After thinking for a moment, Robert couldn't imagine how a mythical beast like Ho-Oh would appear in the Evergreen Forest. Anyway, it was none of his business, so maybe it was really as he thought.

Robert, who was confused, stopped thinking about it. He then reached for his waist, took out the luxury balls of Charmander, Pidgey, and Iron Shell Pupa, and threw them towards the open space in the cave.

"Swish!"

Along with the appearance of three red lights, Charmander, Pidgey, and the Iron Shell Pupa that had been captured not long ago appeared in front of Robert.

"Wow~"

"Bo Bo~"

"Shell~"

Charmander and Pidgey, who had just come out, immediately ran over and kept rubbing against Robert's calves.

As for the Iron Shell Pupa, it stood there without any movement but stared with its cross-eyed gaze at the trainer in front of it, seemingly confused by the unorthodox way it had been captured.

"You're fine, Iron Shell Pupa. Although what happened before was a bit bad, now that I have tamed you, I will definitely treat you well."

Seeing the look in Iron Shell Pupa's eyes, although the other party didn't say anything, Robert immediately guessed its mood at the moment.

"..."

"Shell~"

The entire cave was silent for a few seconds, and then the Iron Shell Pupa slowly shook its body and made a sound, indicating that it had acknowledged Robert.

"That's great. Please guide me in the future." Upon hearing that, Robert happily walked over and picked up the Iron Shell Pupa.

"Shell~"

"Wow~"

"Bo Bo~"

Seeing Robert and Iron Shell Pupa's interaction, Charmander and Pidgey also cheered in celebration. They warmly welcomed Iron Shell Pupa into their small team.

Just as Robert and the Pokémon were celebrating, the storm outside slowly stopped, and at the same time, a ray of sunlight slowly penetrated into the cave.

Seeing this scene, Robert was cheered up and walked out of the cave, holding Iron Shell Pupa, Charmander, and Pidgey.

As soon as they stepped outside, a gorgeous rainbow descended from the sky. Then, a huge bird Pokémon emitting golden light, full of mystery and majesty, slowly flew toward the horizon.

Seeing this, Robert quickly took out his Pokédex and snapped several photos of the disappearing figure. "Tsk tsk, is this really the legendary Ho-Oh? Are you sure it's not a Shiny Fearow?"

As if it had heard Robert's complaints, Ho-Oh, which was about to disappear in the distance, glanced at Robert in the Evergreen Forest with a meaningful gaze.

"...Hmm?" Robert couldn't help but shudder when Ho-Oh glanced at him, but he didn't notice the significance of the gaze.

"Did I catch a cold from the rain? Impossible. With my super Rookie physique, how could I catch a cold so easily?"

Robert shook his head while jokingly thinking about it, then returned to the cave with Charmander and Pidgey. He decided to spend the night there and set off again tomorrow.

...

No words were spoken that night.

Early the next morning.

Robert was sitting on a tablecloth with a pork rice meal he had bought from the Pokémon Mart, eating it bite by bite. Similarly, Charmander and Pidgey were eagerly eating the energy cubes that Robert had prepared for them.

As for Iron Shell Pupa, since it was currently in its pupal state, it did not need to eat at all. It would be able to consume food again after evolving into a Beedrill.

Based on Robert's observation, it would take about four days for Iron Shell Pupa to fully evolve into its final form, Giant Beedrill.

After all, except for some special cases, Bug-type Pokémon only need about 12 days to evolve from their first form to their final stage, making them a preferred choice for civilian trainers. In just a little over a week, they reach their final form without requiring expensive resources.

The only resources needed are plenty of leaves and some basic Pokémon food.

"Wow~"

"Bo Bo~"

Charmander and Pidgey, having finished all the energy cubes in their food boxes, lay on the ground, rubbing their stomachs and making contented sounds.

After eating the energy cubes twice, they realized that the food not only filled their stomachs but also helped them grow stronger.

This thrilled them. Every time Robert took out energy cubes, they were excited. Energy cubes meant fullness and increased strength—a perfect combination!

"It looks like you're full. Let's rest a bit before setting off. But before we go, I have a surprise for you." Seeing the two lying down, Robert walked over, squatted down, and patted their little heads.

"Wow?" (Surprise?)

"Bobo?" (Surprise?)

"Yes, a surprise. You'll find out soon. I think you'll be very happy."

Robert didn't explain further. Instead, he took out a pair of Skill Discs from his system backpack and handed one to Charmander and another to Pidgey.

"Wow?"

"Bobo?"

Looking at the Skill Discs, Charmander and Pidgey were confused. At first, Charmander thought it might be another delicious treat or an item to boost its strength.

But after sniffing it and observing closely, it didn't have any scent, nor did it seem like a conventional strength-enhancing item.

Still, they trusted Robert. They believed that anything he took out would be valuable.
