-----------------

There were many Poliwag caught in the chaotic brawl, and since it was a rainy day, Sato—watching the battle through his binoculars—quickly spotted two Poliwag that moved significantly faster than their kin in the rain.

As for the sudden flash of gold in the chaos—that was an entirely unexpected discovery. If Sato wasn't mistaken, it was a rare golden Magikarp, at least three times larger than an average Magikarp.

It must have initially been lured to the lake's surface by Bellossom's Sweet Scent, but it was clearly caught in the crossfire of the sudden battle between the Poliwag and Tympole evolutionary line.

The golden Magikarp now lay pitifully on the wet lakebank.

Perhaps because of its flashy appearance and weak strength, it had earned the ire of both the Poliwag and Tympole line. It was now battered all over—looking very much like a true, useless fish out of water.

Still, the appearance of this golden Magikarp made Sato's eyes light up. When he used the system's scan function on it, however, he was shocked for an entirely different reason.

It wasn't that the golden Magikarp had some god-tier potential or special ability—what stunned Sato was that it had actually reached level 25, and yet had not evolved.

After all, Magikarp were infamous for being weak. Their growth was painfully slow. As bottom feeders on the food chain, most would be lucky to even hit level 10 or so in their lifetime.

Even when raised carefully by a Trainer, leveling them up was no easy task.

So after reading its stats, Sato was quite disappointed.

Aside from its appearance, the golden Magikarp didn't seem special at all. Its potential was only average, and it lacked any unique abilities like a shiny Pelipper or shiny Beautifly.

.....

As much as he didn't want to admit it, Sato could only think: This shiny Magikarp is such a waste. Despite being a shiny Pokémon, it had no outstanding stats or abilities.

But maybe the golden Magikarp sensed Sato's disdain—or perhaps it was furious at being beaten for no reason—or maybe it just felt the looming threat of death.

Suddenly, under Sato's incredulous gaze, this fish-on-the-brink exploded with an intense light of evolution.

In an instant, the fierce battle between the Poliwag and Tympole lines was interrupted as their attention was drawn to the dazzling light radiating from the golden Magikarp. One by one, they stopped fighting.

A Pokémon mid-evolution was extremely unstable—any external attack could interrupt the process, potentially causing irreversible harm.

Even worse, it could trigger a violent energy explosion, with a blast radius exceeding hundreds of meters.

So, the Poliwag and Tympole lines didn't pause because of compassion—but because their respective leaders had warned them in time.

Soon, under the glow of evolution, the golden Magikarp began to rapidly expand in size—dozens of times bigger in a flash.

Finally, an enormous red Gyarados, at least twice the size of an average one, emerged before Sato and all the wild Pokémon present.

Just like any typical Gyarados, the newly evolved red Gyarados was violent and aggressive. Having nearly been killed earlier by the Poliwag and Tympole lines, it was seething with fury. Its blood-red eyes blazed with rage.

"RROARH!!"

The moment it evolved, the red Gyarados let out an ear-splitting roar. A sound wave of invisible force blanketed the entire battlefield.

At the same time, its Intimidate ability activated. Combined with the overwhelming killing intent and fury it now radiated, its menacing aura reached its peak.

Under this pressure, many weaker Pokemon of the Poliwag and Tympole line trembled uncontrollably—some even passed out on the spot, eyes rolled back and foam at the mouth.

This was the terrifying power of a Gyarados in a rage.

"I swear, are these stats even real? How can they change so drastically? Is this the legendary 'Magikarp comeback' people talk about? This is insane."

With binoculars still in hand, Sato stared at the now rampaging red Gyarados by the lake, muttering in disbelief.

Using his system's detection ability, he saw that the red Gyarados's data had completely transformed.

.....

The difference was night and day—this evolution truly was a "fish transforming into a dragon." As a shiny Pokémon, Gyarados had regained all the pride it had once lacked.

However… the red Gyarados was still only level 25.

Despite its Intimidate ability and the terrifying Tyrant effect disabling many Poliwag and Tympole line warriors on the battlefield, it couldn't make the stronger elite members of either line submit.

In fact, far from backing down, it enraged them.

Seeing their kin devastated by the red Gyarados's sudden rampage, their eyes lit with fury.

All at once, they stopped fighting each other and formed a temporary alliance—joining forces to take down the intruding Gyarados.

Bubble Beam, Water Gun, Hydro Pump—rain-boosted Water-type moves filled the air and rained down on the red Gyarados, completely submerging its once-dominant form.

"ROARRR!!"

As ferocious as it was, the level 25 red Gyarados was no match for a barrage from the combined forces of so many high-level enemies. It didn't stand a chance and was completely overpowered.

Within seconds, it was seriously injured and collapsed on the lakeshore.

Fortunately, just then—its backup finally arrived.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

One after another, massive blue dragons burst from the lake's surface. When they spotted the fallen red Gyarados, their bloodshot eyes filled with savage rage.

"ROAR!!"

"ROAR!!"

"ROAR!!"

In the next moment, a chorus of earth-shaking roars echoed across the battlefield.
