Chapter 90: Ch-90

In the picture—

[When the last guardian Pokémon of the Orange Islands, Articuno, was captured...]

[Instantly, in the Orange Islands sky, dark clouds spread all around.]

[In just a short while, the clouds had covered the entire Orange Islands.]

[At that moment, the previously clear sky of the Orange Islands immediately fell into darkness.]

Boom!!

[A deafening sound echoed in the sky before anyone could react.]

[A saffron-colored lightning bolt sliced through the sky and struck the green forest on a nearby island.]

[The friction caused by the intense current and high voltage instantly raised the temperature.]

[In the blink of an eye, the green forest was ablaze with raging fire.]

[The blazing flames quickly spread across the sea to nearby islands.]

[The sunny weather in the Orange Islands was no more.]

[Instead, thunder roared.]

[The strong wind whipped up the rain like countless lashes, striking tall trees fiercely and uprooting them.]

[Lightning flashed like a giant serpent leaping across the clouds, followed by thunder exploding violently on the ground.]

[On another island, just a few kilometers away...]

[A fierce blizzard intensified, and the biting cold wind carried large amounts of ice and snow.]

[The cold wind shook the branches, howling and whistling as it swept through the land like a tempest. The only sound left was the deafening roar of the blizzard.]

The entire scene resembled the end of the world.

[In the forest, Pokémon like Oddish, Vileplume, Rattata, and others fled frantically to avoid being consumed by the inferno.]

[On the sea, massive tsunamis surged and crashed down with force. Water Pokémon such as Goldeen, Magikarp, and Horsea swam away in panic.]

[In the skies, Flying Pokémon like Pidgey and Spearow, sensing the apocalyptic atmosphere, migrated in flocks, struggling against the strong winds.]

[The catastrophic weather in the Orange Islands...]

[...even extended to the neighboring Kanto and Johto regions.]

[Many Pokémon were startled and migrated in large groups. Even powerful Pokémon like Gyarados and Blastoise seemed terrified of this apocalyptic phenomenon.]

At this moment, Pokémon League President Charles Goodshow, who was at the Gongmen Stadium, was stunned.

"It's unbelievable. I never thought the three guardian Pokémon of the Orange Islands..."

"...would all be captured at once. Who could have done this?"

Charles's expression turned grim.

"Damn it! The legendary Pokémon maintain the balance of the entire Orange Islands."

"I didn't expect someone to covet them and take them by force."

"If we do nothing, the Orange Islands—and even the Kanto and Johto regions—will be devastated by this chaos. The damage will be unimaginable."

Who could be behind this?

The normally calm Chibana was furious as he observed the scene of destruction.

"This is selfishness at its peak."

"These legendary Pokémon are responsible for maintaining the climate of the Orange Islands."

"Doesn't the person who captured them understand the consequences of their actions?"

"If I ever find out who did this, I won't forgive them!"

The audience, equally enraged, demanded answers.

In the picture—

[The three legendary Pokémon had been captured, and the camera panned to the inside of a massive airship.]

"Hehe, the God of Fire who controls flames..."

"The God of Thunder who controls lightning..."

"And the God of Ice who controls snow..."

"I finally have them all."

[An ominous voice echoed, and the camera zoomed in to reveal a young man with light green hair.]

[His face was twisted with greed as he gazed at the three captured legendary birds confined in the airship.]

Upon seeing this man, uproar broke out.

Rocket Team Headquarters, Kanto Region

"Hmm? Gilluta?"

Giovanni, the infamous leader of Team Rocket, raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"Gilluta?"

Executive Archer appeared puzzled, but Ariana, standing nearby, spoke up.

"Isn't Gilluta a world-renowned Pokémon collector?"

"This man has a habit of hiring Sinnoh's Pokémon hunter organizations to steal rare Pokémon for his collection."

"I thought he only targeted ordinary rare Pokémon, but to think he'd aim for legendary ones..."

Proton smirked.

"This is unexpected. Capturing the three legendary Pokémon from the Orange Islands is no small feat."

"In an instant, he's turned the Orange Islands into a disaster zone. How amusing."

"If his actions threaten the Rocket Team's operations in Kanto or Johto, I won't let him go."

Giovanni's eyes narrowed.

"In Kanto, there is room for only one villainous organization!"

Meanwhile, Cyrus, leader of Team Galactic, observed the events dispassionately.

"Such chaos... It doesn't concern me."

Cyrus's ultimate goal was to create a new world. To him, the destruction of the Orange Islands was inconsequential.

Palace Gate Stadium – Champion Guest Seat

"The Orange Islands... reduced to this..."

Charles Goodshow's face was pale as he witnessed the apocalyptic scene.

"President, don't be discouraged," Diantha consoled him. "This... this is a vision of the future. The Orange Islands are still safe right now."

"We still have time to change things," she added.

Professor Oak sighed deeply. "But what if this future is inevitable?"

"Who can stop this disaster?"

Cynthia, lost in thought, spoke up slowly. "Do we have to defeat Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres?"

"Defeating them might restore balance, but will it be enough to reverse the destruction?" she wondered aloud.

As despair loomed, the video continued.

[Gilluta was transporting the captured legendary Pokémon when an accident occurred.]

[The containment rings on the airship malfunctioned, and the three legendary birds escaped.]

[But instead of returning to their respective territories, they began fighting amongst themselves.]

[A fierce battle erupted.]

Thunderbolt. Flamethrower. Ice Beam.

[The three legendary Pokémon launched powerful attacks indiscriminately, plunging the Orange Islands further into chaos.]

"These stupid birds..." Giovanni muttered, irritated. "They don't even understand their roles."

Just as all hope seemed lost, something extraordinary happened.

[Suddenly, a massive waterspout rose from the ocean.]

[It shattered the ice and extinguished the flames.]

[From within the waterspout, a majestic silver Pokémon emerged, its cry echoing across the seas.]

The God of Ocean Currents—Lugia!
