Pokemon: I'm a Farmer

Chapter 320: Chapter 321: A Champion’s Surprise

Before coming here, Cynthia had naturally reviewed the available information on Rex. To her surprise, she discovered that Rex had once traveled to the Sinnoh region and had even interacted with Professor Rowan.

Out of curiosity, Cynthia reached out to Rowan, and what she heard from him was unexpected—Rowan spoke highly of Rex. And that was saying something, as Rowan was not the easiest person to get along with.

Cool on the outside and warm on the inside—that was Professor Rowan. His distant demeanor often gave the impression of being hard to approach, making it difficult for others to form close relationships with him. But Rex had clearly made a strong impression.

With Rowan's assessment in mind, Cynthia became more intrigued by this young farmer from Hoenn.

Neither Steven nor Cynthia were arrogant types, so despite their championship-level status, they did not barge into Rex's farm. Instead, they landed their flying Pokémon just outside the gate.

The farm's gate, more decorative archway than barrier, didn't impede them at all. They passed through and began making their way toward the farmhouse in the distance.

Of course, Celebi and the others had already sensed their arrival the moment they landed. The overwhelming auras radiating from Metagross and Garchomp were unmistakable—even to Mythicals like them.

After all, Steven and Cynthia had both fought countless battles to ascend to their positions as Champions. The pressure their Pokémon exuded was equal to—if not more intense than—that of Celebi and Shaymin.

Celebi and Shaymin were more attuned to harmony and healing, protectors of nature rather than warriors. Victini had more raw power, yes, but it relied primarily on its infinite energy. Even so, it likely couldn't match Metagross or Garchomp in a straight-up battle, especially when backed by trainers like Steven and Cynthia.

Top-tier trainers could bring out miracles from even ordinary Pokémon. With their guidance, a partner's strength often soared beyond its natural limits.

"Celebi, you all should hide for now. I'll go greet our guests," Rex said.

He had a pretty good guess why such powerful trainers would show up unannounced—and it almost certainly had to do with last night's energy surge from Celebi and Victini's time travel.

Still wondering how to handle the situation, Rex stepped out—and immediately recognized the pair walking toward him.

"…It's them?" Rex muttered, feeling a headache forming. He never imagined his humble farm would draw the attention of not one, but two Champions.

"Welcome to Rex Farm, Mr. Steven, Miss Cynthia," he greeted, forcing a polite smile.

"We apologize for dropping by uninvited. I hope you don't mind, Rex," Steven said, completely composed. He wasn't surprised Rex recognized them—their reputations preceded them.

"Hello, Rex. Professor Rowan speaks very highly of you," Cynthia added with a gentle smile, offering a handshake.

"Please, come inside. We can talk more comfortably there."

Rex led them indoors, doing his best to be a good host. The situation was… intense, but he would remain polite.

Inside, Yuri and the others had already prepared tea, and after some small talk, they got down to business.

"We've been dispatched by the Hoenn League," Steven said, setting down his cup. "We're here to investigate the source of the immense energy surge detected in this area last night. If you know anything, we'd appreciate your cooperation."

Rex took a deep breath. He had expected this—but now that it was happening, he wasn't sure how much to say.

Sensing his hesitation, Steven and Cynthia didn't press. Instead, they glanced around the room, giving Rex space to decide.

They could already tell—Rex knew exactly what had happened. The only question was whether he'd be willing to tell them.

Just then, Chimchar and Bagon peeked through the back door, curiously eyeing the two visitors. Their appearance drew the Champions' attention.

Steven's expression shifted subtly the moment he saw Bagon. It was clear now—if Rex owned a Bagon, there was no way he'd sell that Salamencite. That ship had sailed.

Cynthia, meanwhile, smiled warmly at the sight of the two Pokémon. Her previously serious demeanor softened instantly—these two were simply adorable.

"Celebi, come on out," Rex finally said.

At his call, Celebi and Victini, who had been hidden, emerged from their concealment and floated over to Rex's side, watching the visitors with cautious interest.

Both Mythicals could feel the power radiating from the two Champions. Though not malicious, it was still enough to make them wary.

Shaymin, true to its reclusive nature, remained in the shadows, quietly observing.

Though Steven and Cynthia maintained composed expressions, their minds were racing. Two Mythical Pokémon—right here on this quiet little farm?

Even with all their experience, this was a rarity. Most people never saw a Mythical in their lifetime—let alone hosted two of them in their home.

Their gazes shifted toward Rex, eyes now filled with deeper scrutiny. This unassuming young man clearly had more to him than met the eye.

Seeing their reactions, Rex decided to tell them everything—well, almost everything. He recounted the events of the previous night, omitting only Shaymin's presence.

When he was finished, Steven and Cynthia sat silently, digesting the information.

It all made sense. Only beings like Celebi and Victini could create the kind of spatial energy that had been detected.

Still, understanding the truth didn't mean they knew what to do about it. Victini clearly wasn't planning to return anytime soon, and they couldn't force a Mythical to obey.

"I see," Steven finally said. "Don't worry, Rex. I'll report this to the League myself. Once they're informed of the situation, I'm confident they'll respect your privacy."

Cases involving Mythical or Legendary Pokémon were handled with the utmost secrecy. Only top League officials would be informed.

This wasn't just about keeping peace—it was to prevent chaos. If word got out that Victini was residing here, countless factions would descend on the farm, turning it into a battlefield.

And with powerhouses like Victini involved, upsetting them could lead to disastrous consequences for the region.
