Pokemon: I'm a Farmer

Chapter 319: Chapter 319: First Meeting

"Hello, Victini. I'm Rex. Nice to meet you!"

After understanding what had happened, Rex offered his right hand toward Victini.

Victini tilted its head, curious about Rex's gesture. While it didn't quite understand what a handshake was, it could sense the warmth and kindness behind it. Cheerfully, it raised its little V-shaped fingers and gently placed them in Rex's palm.

Rex lightly clasped Victini's tiny hand and gave it a friendly shake before letting go.

"Oh, and Celebi—let me introduce you to a new friend. This is Shaymin!"

Rex bent down and picked up the little hedgehog that had been quietly observing from the ground, holding it up to introduce it to Celebi.

Only after Rex pointed it out did Celebi give Shaymin a proper look. At first, it had thought Shaymin was just a normal Pokémon. But upon closer inspection, it immediately recognized the shared aura of an equally mythical being.

Both Pokémon were Grass-type and radiated vibrant life energy. That natural resonance made it easy for them to form a bond. In no time at all, Shaymin and Celebi were chatting happily, already well on their way to becoming friends.

As the two Mythical Pokémon grew familiar with each other, Victini floated nearby, curiously watching them, occasionally giggling at something. The atmosphere quickly grew warm and peaceful.

Now that the tension had passed, Rex called his Pokémon back to rest and led the three Mythical Pokémon into his farmhouse.

With a few hours left until dawn, Rex invited Celebi, Shaymin, and Victini into his room. Exhausted from the night's events, he plopped into bed and soon fell asleep.

The three Mythicals exchanged glances, blinked at one another for a moment, then began yawning one after the other. Eventually, they all curled up beside Rex and drifted off to sleep too.

While Rex and his new mythical companions were sound asleep, far away in Hoenn's League headquarters, scientists and researchers had already pinpointed the origin of the massive energy spike—they had traced it back to Rex Farm. Rex's name and background now lay in front of the region's top brass.

Given Rex's close relationship with Professor Birch, the League contacted the professor first.

Though Birch was surprised by the massive disturbance Rex had caused, he helped deflect most of the scrutiny from the higher-ups. However, there were still official procedures to follow, and the League decided to send a team to investigate.

Birch couldn't warn Rex in advance, as that would draw suspicion and potentially get him in trouble with the League's leadership. All he could do was hope that Rex had nothing to hide.

Rex, meanwhile, was sleeping peacefully with Shaymin snuggled up beside him. At the foot of the bed, Celebi and Victini were dozing off together too, their earlier tension completely gone.

Elsewhere, Chimchar and Bagon were sulking a little. They were used to sleeping beside Rex themselves. But with three Mythicals hogging the bed, they could only retreat to the cozy little nest Rex had made for them.

After the long night, Rex didn't wake up until nearly noon. When he finally opened his eyes, he found Shaymin still curled up in his arms, breathing softly in its sleep.

He carefully slid out of bed without waking the little hedgehog. Celebi and Victini stirred and greeted him with sleepy eyes.

Looking around, Rex saw that Chimchar and Bagon had already slipped outside. After exchanging greetings with Celebi and Victini, he went to freshen up.

By the time he'd finished washing up, Shaymin had woken and was happily chatting with the other two Mythicals.

Soon, Rex led the trio over to the cottage where Yuri, Karen, and Yui were staying. Things were already lively over there—Chimchar and Bagon were chasing Marill around, and the girls were watching a drama on TV, laughing and clapping at the exciting parts.

"Boss, there you are!"

"Oh wow—is that Celebi and Shaymin?! You're back!"

Yuri jumped up to greet him but quickly noticed the Mythicals behind him. She gasped in excitement and forgot all about Rex.

All three girls were now completely focused on the Mythical Pokémon, utterly ignoring Rex.

"Wait a sec, boss—who's that little one? Did you catch a new Pokémon recently?"

Yui had just spotted Victini floating beside Celebi and Shaymin.

"Hold on… It looks familiar. I've definitely seen it somewhere before…"

Karen furrowed her brow, trying to remember.

"No need to guess. That's Victini—the Victory Pokémon. It's a Mythical, just like Celebi and Shaymin."

Rex decided not to drag it out and gave them the answer directly.

Then he recounted everything that had happened the night before—the time-travel incident, Victini hitching a ride, and how it had ended up here with Celebi.

"You've gotta call me next time something that exciting happens, boss!"

Yuri tugged on Rex's sleeve, making her request with sparkling eyes.

"Uh… we'll see."

A sweatdrop formed on Rex's forehead. He quickly changed the subject.

Honestly, even he had been terrified last night. If things had gone wrong, he could've been in serious danger. He definitely wasn't about to bring Yuri along to something like that.

Soon after, lunch was ready. The three Mythical Pokémon joined Rex and the girls at the table. Because of the new guests, Yui, Yuri, and Karen quickly whipped up a few more dishes to make them feel welcome.

Rex also laid out several of the precious rainbow energy cubes as their main course—ordinary food just didn't provide enough nutrients for Mythical Pokémon.

He'd previously tested these rainbow cubes on Shaymin and knew that while the nutritional effects weren't huge, they were filling and tasted great—perfect as a staple food for the Mythicals, even if it was a bit extravagant.
