"Agatha!"

As the elderly woman approached, Tyson couldn't help but exclaim.

"Oh, I didn't expect anyone here to recognize me," Agatha replied with a sly smile, her voice carrying an air of amusement. "It seems I'm more famous than I thought for an old lady like myself."

Miss Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy, who had been tense moments earlier, immediately relaxed upon recognizing the renowned Elite Four member.

Meanwhile, Agatha's Gengar had already subdued the raging shadow of its counterpart with almost effortless precision. Even at its peak strength, the opposing Gengar, burning its life force to temporarily attain near-Elite status, was no match for Agatha's championship-level Gengar.

Casually tossing a Poké Ball, Agatha returned her Gengar with a flick of her wrist.

"Alright, I'll handle this Gengar's situation and ensure the appropriate rewards for your efforts," Agatha declared, her sharp eyes glinting as they lingered on Tyson.

Tyson, however, did not feel honored.

Agatha wasn't just any Elite Four member; she was one of the most experienced and formidable trainers in the world, a veteran among the Elite Four of Kanto. Her mastery over Ghost-type Pokémon was unmatched, and her presence exuded an almost suffocating pressure.

Tyson could sense her strength through his system interface, noting with alarm the championship-level Gengar lurking in her shadow—a silent yet overwhelming force.

As if sensing Tyson's discomfort, Agatha's Gengar emerged from the shadows, tilting its head in curiosity as it examined him.

"Enough, Gengar," Agatha said with a light pat on its head. "Don't frighten the boy too much."

The mischievous Pokémon stuck its tongue out at Tyson before fading back into the shadows, the oppressive aura dissipating.

"You performed admirably back there," Agatha said, her tone more deliberate now. "I was watching, and your tactics were impressive. Keep up the hard work—I'll be keeping an eye on you."

With that, she patted Tyson on the shoulder, her touch light but firm, as though imparting a message only he could understand.

"I'm too old to linger," she added, turning toward the Pokémon Center. "Miss Joy, prepare a room for me. I'll rest for now and address the details tomorrow."

Nurse Joy immediately complied, hurrying after Agatha with a sense of reverence. Officer Jenny watched the Elite Four member depart, her respect evident in her gaze.

"Tyson, thank you for your help tonight," Officer Jenny said earnestly. "If not for your actions, things could have gone much worse. That Gengar was dangerous beyond measure."

"It's just what a League trainer should do," Tyson replied with a modest wave. Exhaustion tugged at his limbs; the battle had drained him both physically and mentally.

Before long, Tyson returned to his room, where his Pokémon greeted him enthusiastically.

"Alright, alright, I'll wash up and get ready for bed," he said, laughing as he dodged the playful antics of his Sylveon, Ditto, and Primeape.

As he lay in bed that night, Tyson felt a mix of relief and unease. Agatha's recognition brought opportunity, but her attention could also spell trouble if his secrets were exposed. Still, her offer had sparked a fire in him—a desire to rise further, not just to protect himself but to achieve his own goals.

The next morning, Tyson was just finishing breakfast with his Pokémon when Nurse Joy knocked on his door.

"Tyson, Agatha wants to see you," she said politely.

"Understood. I'll be right there," Tyson replied. He recalled his Pokémon to their Poké Balls and followed Nurse Joy to a quiet room where Agatha sat, finishing her meal.

"Come, sit," Agatha gestured, her tone casual. "Help me with this breakfast—I can't possibly eat it all myself."

Tyson hesitated briefly before taking a seat. After a few bites, he released his Pokémon and prepared food for them, earning a curious glance from Agatha.

"You care deeply for your Pokémon," she observed. "That's good."

Once everyone had eaten, Agatha leaned back and began speaking in a measured tone.

"I've heard about your encounters with the Mizutani family," she said. "At first, I thought it was just luck that your Charizard has such advanced skill proficiency. But after observing your Kadabra's performance last night and your steady progress, I suspect there's more to it than that."

Tyson straightened, meeting her gaze. "You're correct. I have a unique ability that allows me to help my Pokémon grow faster and refine their skills."

Agatha's expression didn't change, but there was a flicker of interest in her eyes. "And does this ability extend to other trainers' Pokémon?"

"No," Tyson said without hesitation.

"Good."

Her approval was subtle but clear. "I won't beat around the bush," she continued. "I want your help dealing with the Mizutani family. Prove yourself by placing in the top three at the Indigo Plateau Conference, and I'll consider taking you as my apprentice. How does that sound?"

Tyson felt the air grow heavy, the weight of Agatha's offer settling on him.

"It would be an honor," he replied, his voice steady despite the pressure.

"Good," Agatha said, the oppressive atmosphere lifting. "Now, don't disappoint me."
