Chapter 96: Sabrina's Past
Haru sat in a cozy, well-decorated room of Sabrina's family home, sipping tea, his mind somewhat lost in thought as he observed the scene around him. He couldn't help but notice the striking resemblance Sabrina had to her mother—her beauty was a mirror image. Her long, flowing hair, though, was clearly a gift from her father. It was an odd sensation, sitting here with Sabrina's parents, especially considering everything that had happened between him and Sabrina.
Sabrina's father, a distinguished-looking man with an air of authority, broke the silence. "I'm so happy that my daughter found a good man," he said, his voice deep but filled with warmth.
Haru blinked, caught off guard, and blushed slightly. "Um, yeah, thanks," he stammered, not quite sure how to respond to the compliment from the older Psychic user.
Her father chuckled warmly. "She smiles more now. That was rare in the past."
Haru tilted his head, curiosity piqued. "What do you mean?"
Sabrina, who had been sitting quietly, suddenly stood up and moved Haru's chair, as if to hurry him away. "You know, maybe we should go somewhere else," she said quickly, but her voice trembled slightly, clearly wanting to avoid this conversation.
But before Sabrina could do anything more, her father used his psychic powers to halt her motion, his gaze becoming more serious. "When Sabrina was young, she was incredibly gifted with psychic abilities—so gifted, in fact, that she spent so much time training that she stopped smiling. She pushed herself to the point that it caused a split in her personality. That other self became… a doll."
Sabrina's mother, who had been quietly observing the exchange, added with a small smile, "We tried to stop her, of course. But she was so powerful, she turned me into a doll at one point. It was… interesting, to say the least. Fufufu."
Haru's eyes widened in surprise. "Wait, so that's how you… turned into a doll?" He glanced at Sabrina, who was now visibly embarrassed by the conversation.
Sabrina's father continued, his tone becoming more nostalgic. "It was so bad that when that Ash kid came for his first badge, she scared all of his Pokémon. But that's when I stepped in and helped him. I gave him a ghost-type Pokémon—a Hunter, who later evolved into Gengar."
Haru's mind clicked as he remembered the Johto League battle with Ash. "So that's how Ash got his Gengar, the one who always played pranks. But did he actually beat Sabrina in a battle?"
Sabrina's mother giggled. "No, actually. The Hunter did a comedy trick that made Sabrina laugh for the first time in a long while. That's how the battle ended."
Haru smirked as he glanced at Sabrina, who was trying to teleport out of the room in embarrassment. But before she could, Haru used his Aura to disrupt her psychic powers, preventing her from escaping. "Oh really?" he teased, clearly enjoying her discomfort.
Sabrina paused, her face flushed red, and she shot a glare at Haru, though a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "You didn't have to stop me like that," she muttered, clearly embarrassed by her past actions.
Her parents exchanged knowing glances, the room filled with a light, playful atmosphere despite the heavy revelations. Haru, feeling the weight of Sabrina's past and her family's role in it, couldn't help but admire how far Sabrina had come since those early days. She had grown stronger, both emotionally and mentally, but it was clear that a part of her past still lingered, even if she'd rather forget it.
Sabrina's father leaned back in his chair, a proud smile crossing his face. "Well, Haru, you seem to have become an important part of her life. And I think she's happy now, truly happy."
Haru nodded, looking at Sabrina with sincerity in his eyes. "I will always do my best to make her smile."
The small moment of camaraderie between them felt like a turning point for Sabrina—an acknowledgment of her past, but also a commitment to the future she now shared with Haru.
As Sabrina and her family continued to talk and laugh, Haru reflected on how much he had learned about her. And he realized, no matter how powerful or difficult her past had been, he would always stand by her side.
Later day Outside the house, as Sabrina and Haru were walking.
Haru looker at Sabrina as he spoke. "Did you ever told them about your past life".
Sabrina shaked her head as she spoke. "I never told them about my past life, same reason why you haven't told your sister"
Haru and Sabrina walked side by side through the quiet streets outside her family home. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of freshly bloomed flowers, but a certain weight lingered between them.
Haru glanced at her, his expression thoughtful. "Did you ever tell them about your past life?"
Sabrina shook her head, her gaze fixed ahead. "No. I never told them… for the same reason you haven't told your sister."
Haru exhaled deeply, understanding exactly what she meant. "Yeah… I guess it's not something you can just drop on your family over dinner."
Sabrina let out a small chuckle. "Can you imagine? 'Hey Mom, Dad, by the way, I used to be someone else entirely in another life.' I doubt they'd take it well."
Haru smirked. "Yeah, I can already picture my sister freaking out. She'd probably think I hit my head too hard in a battle."
They walked in silence for a moment, the weight of unspoken truths hanging between them. Then Haru spoke again, his voice softer. "Do you ever… wish you could tell them? That they'd understand?"
Sabrina hesitated, then sighed. "Sometimes. But I also think… this life is mine now. Who I was before, it shaped me, sure. But I'm Sabrina. Their daughter. A Gym Leader. And… someone who found happiness in this life."
Haru nodded, a small smile forming on his lips. "Yeah. And you have me, too."
Sabrina smirked, nudging him slightly. "Yeah, yeah. Don't get cocky."
Haru laughed, and for a brief moment, everything felt light again. No past lives, no heavy burdens—just the two of them, walking forward together.
Sabrina then spoke. "So what is your journey like".
Haru then spoke looking at her. "Got my memory's back, got Swampert as a Mudkip from Professor El-".
Sabrina stopped him as she spoke. "No Able, I mean what was your journey like before you went missing for 6 years your first journey before you restarted everything".
Haru raised an eyebrow the fact she called him by past life names means she was secires. "Will there was this funny moment"
Flash back
As it shows Haru walking with him holding his Starly who hasn't become a Staraptor yeat, Whitney with hee Momstee of Miltank, Bugys with Scizor who is going to evolve into Scyther and Falkner with a lot of bird Pokemon, as they are in Ten in this flash back
Bugys was leading the group as he was signing for the mood. "I am on my way, I am on my way, I am on way, I am on my Wa-"
Gets attaceje by every wild Pokemon as the group goes to save him
End of Flash back
Haru looked as he spoke. "Some how there was no Bug type Pokemon that attacked him".
Sabrina blinked, processing the bizarre story. "So… you're telling me that Bugsy, the Bug-type Gym Leader, got attacked by everything except Bug-types?"
Haru chuckled. "Yup. Not a single Bug Pokémon in sight. It was all Stantlers, Mankeys, and even a couple of Geodudes for some reason."
Sabrina sighed, shaking her head. "I swear, your journey sounds like something straight out of a comedy show."
Haru smirked. "Yeah, well, traveling with Whitney, Bugsy, and Falkner made things very interesting. Between Whitney's Miltank terrorizing small villages, Falkner getting into debates with every Flying-type trainer we met, and Bugsy… well, being Bugsy, it was never boring."
Sabrina crossed her arms. "And then you disappeared for six years."
Haru's smirk faded slightly. "Yeah…" He looked at her, sensing the unspoken question. "I guess... I just lost my way for a while."
Sabrina studied him carefully, then softened. "You're here now. That's what matters."
Haru gave her a grateful smile before chuckling again. "But seriously, I still remember Falkner's face when a Pidgey stole his headband mid-battle. He never let that go."
Sabrina rolled her eyes but couldn't help the small smile forming on her lips. "I don't know whether to be impressed or horrified by your past journey."
Haru grinned. "Why not both?"
Sabrina then looked as she spoke. "You disappear because Lance beat you in the Pokemon World Champion and then he said a few words".
Haru chuckled as he spoke bitterly. "Does words hurt, I kinda became depressed".
Sabrina then looked as what Haru didn't know aura of death was coming out her Phsyic powers. "Oh really, that is sad, maybe I should visit him sometime and have 'Chat'".
Haru immediately noticed the shift in the air. The temperature seemed to drop slightly, and an almost tangible pressure filled the space around them. Sabrina's usual composed expression was replaced by something… darker.
Haru chuckled nervously, waving his hands. "Whoa, whoa, hold up! No need to go full vengeful psychic goddess on him."
Sabrina's eyes glowed faintly as she crossed her arms. "He hurt you enough that you vanished for six years. That's not something I can just ignore."
Haru sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "Yeah, I won't lie—what he said did mess me up. But looking back, I think I needed to hear it."
Sabrina raised an eyebrow, but the aura around her didn't fade. "Explain."
Haru took a deep breath. "I was arrogant back then. I thought I had everything figured out, like I was destined to win. But Lance crushed me—badly. And when he told me I wasn't ready… I realized he was right. It shook me to my core."
Sabrina was silent for a moment before speaking. "So instead of facing it, you disappeared?"
Haru winced. "Pretty much."
The psychic energy around Sabrina didn't fade, but it shifted. "I still don't like it. He could've said it in a way that didn't break you."
Haru sighed again. "You're not wrong, but it's in the past now. I'm here, I'm stronger, and honestly… I think I needed that fall to become who I am now."
Sabrina studied him for a long moment before closing her eyes. The pressure in the air eased. "Fine. I won't visit him. Yet."
Haru gulped. "Yet?"
Sabrina smirked slightly. "If he ever tries to talk down to you again, I will make sure he understands why messing with a psychic is a bad idea."
Haru laughed. "Noted. Remind me to never make you mad."
Sabrina simply smirked as they continued walking.
Haru then looked as he spoke. "Also your learning Thai second hand, I had roo Stop Whitney from throwing all hee Monkey at him, and Falkner and Bugsy too, and stoping all 7 of my sister to gang up on him"
Sabrina then looker as she spoke. "That is all"
Haru then sighed as he spoken. "My bad was ready too band Lance from buying all Harmonia Family Products, may I remind you my family has a monopoly on the Held Items Industry".
Sabrina then looked as she spoke. "Two things, the Ancient Royal Family of Unova is now one of the biggest Company in the World, and second aren't you the one that take over the business after your father retire"
Haru then spoke. "No that my eldest sister Akagi".
Sabrina then spoke looking at her. "The Red One".
Haru nodded. "Yeah, the Red One. Akagi Harmonia—my eldest sister, the business genius, and the one who somehow terrifies both our competitors and our own board members."
Sabrina smirked. "I see. So if you really wanted, you could just have her make Lance's life very inconvenient?"
Haru chuckled. "Oh, absolutely. If I told her Lance pissed me off, she'd probably find a way to make sure every held item in the market mysteriously increased in price whenever he tried to buy one."
Sabrina laughed softly. "You really do come from a powerful family."
Haru sighed. "Yeah, but that also means a lot of responsibility. Akagi runs the business side of things, but eventually, I'll have to handle my own share of the family legacy."
Sabrina nodded in understanding. "Still, it's nice to know you have options for revenge if needed."
Haru raised an eyebrow. "Are you really still mad about Lance?"
Sabrina smirked. "Let's just say… I dislike anyone who hurt you."
Haru chuckled, shaking his head. "Remind me never to get on your bad side."
Sabrina's smirk widened. "Smart choice."
Sabrina then looked as she moved and kissed on the cheek. "Plus you can never make me Mad or piss me of, but Angry yes".
Haru blinked, a little taken aback by the unexpected gesture. His face flushed slightly, but he quickly regained his composure, giving Sabrina a smirk. "Good to know. I guess I'll have to keep that in mind."
Sabrina stepped back, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "You've already figured it out. I'm not easy to anger, but once I am, you better watch out."
Haru chuckled, his tone teasing. "I think I can handle a little anger from you, Sabrina. Besides, I've already seen you get worked up before—didn't look too bad."
Sabrina raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by his confidence. "Oh? You think you can handle it? Maybe you're more daring than I thought."
Haru shrugged, a playful glint in his eyes. "I've faced worse. Plus, I've got a pretty good track record of keeping things calm… at least, most of the time."
Sabrina laughed, clearly enjoying the banter between them. "You're lucky you're charming, or I'd have to make you pay for that."
Haru smirked. "Good thing for me then, huh?"
Sabrina just shook her head, her expression softening. "You're impossible, you know that?"
"I know," Haru replied with a grin. "But you like it."
Sabrina's eyes softened, a small smile tugging at her lips as she glanced away. "Maybe I do."
Haru then looked at her as he spoke. "So in the future I would like to have you teach my youngest sister".
Sabrina looked at him, as she tryed too remember the name of Haru sister. "Um why"
Haru looked at her as he spoke. "Tade-Ai has the power to talk too Pokèmon".
Sabrina raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the new information. "So, your youngest sister is the one with the ability to communicate with Pokémon directly? That's impressive."
Haru nodded, his expression serious. "Yeah, it's a rare ability in our family. It tends to skip generations, and my dad never had it, so he couldn't train it himself. Tade-Ai's still young, but I can already see the potential in her. She's got a deep connection with Pokémon, even at her age."
Sabrina crossed her arms, thinking about it for a moment. "That's definitely a powerful gift. If trained properly, she could be a great asset, not just in battle, but in understanding Pokémon on a whole new level."
Haru smiled, clearly proud of his sister. "Exactly. That's why I'm asking if you'd consider helping her out. You've got the experience with psychic abilities, and I think your guidance could help her grow into her potential."
Sabrina glanced at him, her expression softening. "I'll consider it. It's not every day someone asks me to mentor someone with such a rare ability. It would be an interesting challenge."
Haru's eyes lit up with hope. "Thanks, Sabrina. I know she'd be in good hands with you."
Sabrina smirked, clearly enjoying the conversation. "Just don't expect me to go easy on her. I'll train her hard, just like you would."
Haru chuckled. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
Sabrina then spoke as she smiled. "If this was still our past life, she would be the Heri too the Harmonia family, the one who will lead Unova, then again it was you and your brother who split the region in two with your war with your legendary dragon's".
Haru sighed still feeling the action of the past. "Don't remind me".
Sabrina's smile faded slightly as she noticed the shift in Haru's demeanor. "I didn't mean to bring up painful memories. But it's hard to forget the history, especially when it's tied to someone as important as you."
Haru's eyes darkened as he looked down for a moment, reflecting on the weight of his past life. "It's... it's just hard, you know? I didn't choose to fight my own family or bring those legendary dragons into the war. But we were so caught up in power, in pride... it ended up tearing everything apart."
Sabrina stepped closer, her tone softer, more understanding. "I know it wasn't your fault, Haru. It was the circumstances, the powers at play, but that doesn't change the fact that it's something you carry with you."
Haru nodded slowly. "Yeah. I wish I could just forget all that. But when I look at my family now, at Tade-Ai, I wonder if history's going to repeat itself. Will she be forced into the same situation as I was? Will she be caught in the same struggle for power?"
Sabrina placed a hand gently on his shoulder. "You're not the same person you were back then, Haru. And you're not alone. You've built a family of your own now—people who care about you. You'll help Tade-Ai find her own path, away from the mistakes of the past."
Haru smiled faintly at Sabrina's words, feeling a little lighter. "Yeah, you're right. I can't change what happened, but I can make sure Tade-Ai doesn't walk that same road. I'll protect her, just like I'll protect everyone I care about."
Sabrina looked at him with a knowing glance. "And that's what matters. You've learned from your past, and now you get to shape the future. You've already come so far, Haru."
Haru took a deep breath, his resolve strengthening. "Thanks, Sabrina. That... that really helps."
Sabrina smiled again, her eyes glinting with a touch of mischief. "Well, someone has to keep you on track. You're lucky you've got me around."
Haru chuckled, the tension easing from his shoulders. "I guess I am."
