Yes, Kai's Caterpie had Rayquaza's exclusive move—Dragon Ascent. Its species was slowly diverging from a standard Caterpie and evolving toward the identity of Hoenn's "God." 

This was all thanks to the system. 

It turned out that Kai's luck wasn't too bad. 

Based on the system's evaluation, his starter Pokémon seemed like the chosen one, draining all the luck of the Caterpie species. With proper training, it had the potential to grow into a powerful Pokémon. 

And as a transmigrator equipped with the protagonist's indispensable cheat-like system, Kai was practically a walking definition of a winner in life. His future looked promising, shining brightly. 

"My bright future has been completely ruined by this ridiculous system! Unless it gives me a Milotic as a motorcycle right now, my future is already over!" 

Frustrated, Kai slammed his desk, his face filled with grievance as he began venting his anger at the system for bringing him so much trouble. His expression resembled that of a Pokémon streamer missing three Hydro Pumps in a row during a critical battle. 

Looking at the system's task interface, Kai's eyes were drawn to the top-listed task, which annoyed him to no end. 

[System Task: Use Rayquaza evolved from Caterpie to defeat the resurrected Groudon and Kyogre.]

This absurd task was assigned after Kai finished his college entrance exams. 

He had used his rare downtime to go on vacation to Slateport City in Hoenn. That's when the task popped up—right in the middle of Groudon and Kyogre's battle. 

It had all started with Kai casually bragging about Groudon and Kyogre in his hotel room. 

What kind of creatures were Groudon and Kyogre? That didn't need much explanation. 

The real problem was that even if Groudon and Kyogre had been awakened by Team Magma and Team Aqua with the Red and Blue Orbs, gaining power and rising from their slumber to wreak havoc on the world, Kai, as a tourist, was in no way obligated to deal with the aftermath of their destruction. 

The Champions, Elite Four, Gym Leaders, or even the real Rayquaza in Hoenn—anyone from those groups was far better equipped to handle the situation than a clueless college student like Kai. 

However, the system had taken his casual remark—"It's fine, I'll step in!"—as a heartfelt declaration of intent. Without asking for his consent, it had immediately launched its "Assistance" mode. 

One moment, Kai was watching his Caterpie happily munching on a block of Pokéblocks. The next thing he knew, under his increasingly desperate and despairing gaze, Caterpie transformed into Rayquaza. 

With one stunned man and one extremely confused Pokémon, they were forcefully thrown onto the battlefield between the two ancient titans, becoming an unexpected third combatant. 

Standing atop Rayquaza's dragon head and witnessing Groudon and Kyogre's ferocity firsthand, Kai's first instinct was to run away and escape the death trap he'd been dragged into. Maybe he could even shake off this cursed task. 

But alas, the system's warning stopped him in his tracks. Groudon and Kyogre had already identified Rayquaza—and its pilot, Kai—as their enemy. If Kai fled, they might chase him all the way to the Dayan Region. 

Great—just great. He was stuck in this mess. 

Thankfully, Team Magma and Team Aqua had mistakenly grabbed the wrong Orbs at Mt. Pyre, so Groudon and Kyogre had failed to unlock their Primal Reversion forms. 

Summoning his courage, Kai reluctantly pressed on with his now-Rayquaza Caterpie. Using Rayquaza's divine authority as the "Arbiter," they managed to intimidate Groudon and Kyogre. After a long and awkward standoff between the three ancient Pokémon, Groudon and Kyogre seemed to realize they were at a stalemate for the day. Both titans retreated to their respective domains—the volcano and the ocean—vanishing without a trace. 

However, Kai knew this wasn't over. After this encounter, he and Caterpie had become mortal enemies of the two titans. Given time, Groudon and Kyogre would surely return, bringing an even more destructive second battle to Hoenn. 

At that point, Kai would have no choice but to face them head-on. 

"What kind of twisted logic leads to sending a first-year Pokémon Breeding student to fight against two legendary titans directly?" 

Back home in Dayan, Kai was filled with bitter complaints as he angrily questioned the system. Unsurprisingly, there was no response. 

After the three-way battle ended, Kai wasted no time fleeing from Hoenn with his Caterpie. He barricaded himself at home, refusing to leave, following the system's guidance to train Caterpie's Dragon Ascent move. 

Ridiculous. Completely ridiculous. 

Who would've thought a casual boast could lead to this? 

"Sigh…" 

Thinking about his "bright and promising" future again, Kai couldn't help but frown. His handsome face was now etched with worry and despair. 

What could he do? 

Expecting his seemingly dim-witted Caterpie to master Rayquaza's power and defeat Groudon and Kyogre before their inevitable comeback was completely unrealistic. 

Running away was tempting, but if he fled, he'd probably spend the rest of his life being chased by those two relentless titans. 

"There are… some ways out of this." 

As a transmigrator, Kai turned to the lore he knew well to devise a solution. 

The most logical plan was to follow the storyline from the games, anime, or manga. Wait until Groudon and Kyogre reappeared, then climb the Sky Pillar established by the Draconid people and enlist the real Rayquaza to put an official end to the chaos. 

This world did have canonical characters, after all. Red, Blue, Steven Stone—Kai had already seen their faces plastered all over news and entertainment outlets countless times. 

"Maybe, as a Rayquaza Trainer, I can team up with them to handle Groudon and Kyogre…" 

He recalled the recent interview with Wallace, Hoenn's Champion, who had sworn to resolve the Groudon-Kyogre crisis. Wallace even vowed to step down as Champion and switch careers to beauty pageants if he failed. 

Kai decided he needed to cling tightly to the "big shots." 

Teaming up was the only way to survive—solo running was out of the question. 

Rayquaza's support was crucial, but the strength of other powerful Trainers would be equally valuable. Only by leveraging both could Kai and Caterpie stand a chance. 

"Grrr." 

Kai's stomach growled, pulling him back from his spiraling thoughts. Starved from the stress of the twin titans' threat, he pulled out his phone and ordered a Tauros steak rice bowl for delivery. 

"Tch, so expensive." 

He glanced at his deflated wallet, feeling more pressure from his finances than from Groudon and Kyogre. 

After instructing Caterpie to train carefully without hurting itself, Kai turned on his computer. 

"Better prepare to start today's stream." 

Yes, in this world where people and Pokémon coexisted, Kai had proudly become a somewhat popular livestreamer. 

Unsurprisingly, Pokémon-related activities and products were the hottest topics, with Pokémon battles being the biggest form of entertainment, loved by all ages. 

Though Kai's past-life battle skills were only good enough to occasionally reach Master Ball rank in Sword and Shield, he could still stream casual battles to earn some fans and cover living expenses. 

Thanks to his humorous commentary and likable personality, Kai had gained a modest following as a "handsome-faced streamer." 

However, compared to his goals of becoming a Trainer, his earnings were far from enough—especially since the system refused to fund him. 

"All right." 

After grumbling briefly about his stingy system, Kai skillfully opened his livestream room. Ignoring the viewers' barrage of comments, he launched into the day's stream with a mischievous grin. 

"Today, we're showcasing Butterfree with a Focus Sash and Sleep Powder tactics! Consider this a tribute to my Caterpie, which will soon evolve into Rayquaza!"
