Chapter 95: Training Plans!
Misty's training ground was centered around a picturesque stream. Not far downstream, the stream widened into a vast lake teeming with an array of Water-type Pokémon.
But Misty wasn't just focused on Water-types. She had decided it was finally time to face her fear of Bug-type Pokémon head-on.
May, on the other hand, was focusing her efforts on training Kirlia. She planned to feature Kirlia in the upcoming contest for her fifth and final ribbon. With this in mind, her training could take place in any environment—whether rocky terrains, dense forests, or open valleys.
As for Ash? He was the ultimate all-rounder.
"Alright, everyone," Ash declared, "let's get started. We'll dedicate the next week to rigorous training. Afterward, we'll evaluate our progress and adjust our plans if needed."
"Let's do this!" Misty and May chimed in, their hands meeting Ash's in a triumphant team cheer. Even Pikachu joined in enthusiastically, its paw placed atop theirs.
"Alright, you two can start your training. Tomorrow, I'll have some surprises to help you both enhance your routines," Ash assured.
With his substantial funds from competitions and the recently credited research grant, Ash was ready to provide the best support for Misty and May. After all, they weren't just his companions—they were part of his heart.
Misty began her preparations by the stream. She released her Pokémon from their Poké Balls: Seaking, Seel, Azurill, and Starmie.
"Alright, everyone," she said, "our goal for this week is to enhance your skills and overcome our weaknesses. Seaking, you've got solid Water-type moves, but we'll work on expanding your versatility. Let's see if we can add some non-Water moves to your arsenal."
"Seel, your moves are more diverse, but we'll focus on battling stronger opponents in the lake to raise your experience and level. We'll aim for your evolution this week!"
"Starmie, your Analyze ability is rare and powerful—we'll learn to capitalize on it. You also have a Psychic-typing, but your psychic moves are limited. I'll arrange for Ash's Mewtwo to coach you."
"Azurill, you and Seel are still young. For now, your priority will be leveling up through battles. Your Huge Power ability is extraordinary, so we'll focus on learning strong physical moves to take full advantage of it."
Her Pokémon responded with excited cries. Misty, with her improved knowledge from traveling alongside Ash, was more determined than ever to become a Water-type Master.
Meanwhile, May's preparations were also underway. She released Munchlax, Eevee, Combusken, Squirtle, and Kirlia.
"Listen up, team! We're focusing on teamwork and technique, especially for Kirlia's contest performance. Munchlax, Eevee, and Combusken, we'll work on combinations that can help Kirlia shine. Combusken, you're so close to evolving—this week could be it! Squirtle, you're in the same boat; we'll aim for your evolution too."
Her team nodded in agreement, ready for the challenge.
Ash, in the meantime, connected with Professor Oak through a video call.
"Ash, how's your Battle Frontier challenge going? Gary's back home and seems eager to face you once you return."
"I'm preparing for the Battle Pyramid now. We're doing a week of intense training to get ready," Ash replied, his Pikachu energetically adding its own greeting.
"That's great to hear! By the way, your research grant of 20 million Poké Coins has been credited. Have you thought about how you'll explain it to your mom?" Oak asked with a knowing smile.
Ash had already prepared his response. "I'll transfer some money to her and say I won it in competitions. She won't question it too much."
Later, Ash transferred 500,000 Poké Coins to his mother, Delia. As expected, she immediately called to express her concern.
"Why so much, Ash? Are you okay? Did something happen?"
"Don't worry, Mom! I earned this through competitions. Use it for anything you need," Ash reassured her. They chatted briefly about his upcoming plans, including bringing a new friend (Anabel) home to visit, which delighted Delia.
With that taken care of, Ash turned his attention to his ultimate weapon: the system shop.
First, he purchased the permanent experience synchronization feature, allowing all participating Pokémon in a battle to share experience equally.
Cost: 15 million Poké Coins.
["Confirmed!"] The system's notification rang. ["Experience synchronization feature activated. You can toggle it on or off at will."]
Next, Ash invested in Experience Multiplier Cards, including triple, quintuple, and sextuple boosts. He also browsed items that could enhance a Pokémon's innate abilities, such as type-boosting items.
Lastly, Ash considered what gifts would benefit Misty and May. After all, helping his friends grow stronger was as important to him as his own progress.
With resources secured and his team united in determination, the week of training promised to be transformative for everyone involved.
