Pokémon: Ash's New Journey

Chapter 92: Bug-Type Pokémon and a Ghostly Encounter!

"No way! It's already evolved into a Pupitar? That's even better! We can capture this Pupitar and the Tyranitar alongside it. If we manage to evolve it into a second Tyranitar, we'll be rolling in cash! Two Tyranitars would sell for a fortune. After this, we'll be set for life, living like royalty! Hahaha!"

The arrogant laughter of the poachers echoed from within their colossal robot, the "Ultimate Unit."

The night slowly descended, casting the forest into an eerie darkness.

While the poachers hunted for Tyranitar, Team Rocket's two factions, led by Jessie and James on one side and Cassidy and Butch on the other, were also in pursuit of the elusive Pokémon. However, neither group had seen any trace of Tyranitar or its young.

Instead, they stumbled upon the tracks left by the poachers' mechanical behemoth.

Upon stealthily following the trail, they caught sight of the poachers.

"It's those despicable scoundrels! I'll make them pay!" Jessie's fury flared as she recognized the poachers.

She couldn't forget how they had once manipulated her, James, and Meowth, using them as a distraction to evade Officer Jenny back at Mt. Silver.

"Jessie, don't get worked up, nya. This time, we've got enough manpower to handle them! Here's what we'll do… nya-ha-ha!" Meowth devised a cunning plan that the rest of the group immediately approved.

Meanwhile, Ash and his companions had set up camp in the dense forest of Mt. Silver.

"Charizard, Pidgeot, I need you to search the mountain for any signs of Tyranitar or Larvitar. Misty, May, you two stay here. I'll gather some firewood. It gets cold at night in these mountains."

Before Misty and May could respond, Ash had already dashed off with Pikachu.

Ash had something else on his mind. He wanted to help Misty overcome her fear of Bug-type Pokémon. A bold idea had struck him, but it would take careful planning to execute.

Activating his Aura, Ash sensed the presence of Team Rocket lurking nearby. A sly grin spread across his face.

Back at the campsite, Misty and May sat together with their Pokémon, relying on the glow of their PokéNav's flashlight to ward off the darkness. Suddenly, the flashlight flickered out.

"What? But Ash said he'd fully charged it!" Misty exclaimed, panic creeping into her voice.

This wasn't a coincidence—it was part of Ash's plan.

"Don't worry," May said, hiding her nervousness. "Let's put our Pokémon back in their Poké Balls and go find Ash."

Though May was apprehensive, she steeled herself, determined to help Misty face her fears.

Nearby, Jessie, James, and Meowth were observing the two girls.

"This is the perfect chance to swipe their Pokémon, nya!" Meowth whispered with a mischievous grin.

Moments later, Jessie and James sprang into action.

"Seviper, go!"

"Cacnea, you too!"

Though James' Cacnea tried to hug him as usual, Jessie barked an order: "Focus, you two! Steal their Poké Balls!"

Misty and May barely had time to react before Team Rocket snatched their Poké Balls and vanished into the night.

"Bye-bye, twerps! Thanks for the loot!"

Misty froze in shock, unable to comprehend what had just happened. Meanwhile, May remained calm, remembering Ash's assurance that he had everything under control.

On the other side of the forest, Ash released Gengar from its Poké Ball.

"Gengar, I need you to retrieve Misty and May's Poké Balls from Team Rocket and give them a good scare while you're at it. Once you're done, come back to me."

Gengar cackled with delight at the prospect of scaring people, vanishing into the shadows.

Back at the campsite, Misty's frustration boiled over.

"If I were stronger, this wouldn't have happened! Those rotten thieves! I'm so sick of being helpless!"

May pointed toward a faint light flickering in the distance. "Misty, look! There's a light over there. Let's check it out!"

In the pitch-black forest, any sign of light felt like a beacon of hope.

Unbeknownst to Misty, the glowing light was part of Ash's elaborate setup. He had sprinkled a special powder, a system reward called Silver Powder, around a towering cedar tree.

Silver Powder was a favorite of Bug-type Pokémon, and it worked like a charm.

The area around the tree was now teeming with luminous Bug-types like Volbeat and Illumise, their bodies emitting a soft, mesmerizing glow.

Alongside them were Caterpie, Weedle, Metapod, Kakuna, and even a few fearsome Beedrill and Heracross.

Misty froze at the sight of the swarm. "M-May, let's not go over there. I hate Bug-types!"

Just then, Gengar, still invisible, began to play its part in Ash's plan. It exhaled a chilly breath that sent shivers down Misty's spine.

Her imagination ran wild, conjuring images of ghostly figures and eerie tales she had heard as a child.

To escalate the tension, Gengar began emitting a faint, eerie laugh, growing louder and closer with each passing second.

"AHHHH!" Misty screamed, grabbing May's arm as they bolted through the forest.

At that moment, Bug-types didn't seem nearly as terrifying as whatever ghostly presence was following them.
