Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

The glow of evolution gradually faded, revealing Nidoking's brand-new appearance before Ron's eyes.

Before its evolution, Nidorino had already grown significantly, standing over a meter tall. After evolving, its height soared to nearly two meters. Its powerful hind legs now supported its upright stance, freeing its strong arms for combat. Its tail, now longer and thicker, became agile enough to use various tail-based moves effectively.

Nidoking's fangs had also grown longer, with two protruding from its mouth, giving it a more ferocious appearance. The spots on its skin disappeared, and the insides of its ears turned green. The only unchanged features were the venomous horn on its head and the row of spikes along its back, hallmarks of its evolution.

Beyond its physical changes, Nidoking's ability had shifted from Hustle to Sheer Force, synergizing with its held Life Orb to further amplify the power of its moves.

"Congratulations, Nidoking," Ron said.

Hearing Ron's voice, Nidoking snapped out of its joy over evolving and lowered its head so Ron could reach it. Carefully suppressing the venom on its horn, it ensured that Ron wouldn't be harmed by accidental contact. Despite its evolution and increased strength, Nidoking's loyalty to Ron remained unchanged.

Afterward, Machamp and the others came over to greet and encourage Nidoking. They had all witnessed its efforts to master the Shave technique and the frustration it endured when failing. Now, as a Nidoking, further training would likely yield even greater results.

Even the smallest among them, Torchic, came to greet Nidoking. Fond of the little one, Nidoking playfully placed Torchic on its shoulder.

To celebrate Nidoking's evolution, Ron prepared a sumptuous lunch.

After a hearty meal and a brief rest, Nidoking eagerly began to test its newfound strength. Equipping the Life Orb, it first used its signature move, Flamethrower.

With the combined boosts from Sheer Force and the Life Orb, the move's power surged by 60%, reaching an astonishing 144—on par with devastating moves like Hyper Beam. This was only the beginning, as Nidoking could also unleash even more potent moves such as Fire Blast, Blizzard, and Thunder.

For most Nidoking, the limitation of such powerful moves would be their high energy cost. However, with Ron's Fighting Aura to replenish its strength, this concern was nonexistent.

Ron couldn't help but imagine a scenario where Nidoking used Moonwalk to soar into the sky, carrying him as a mobile "healing pool," and rained down relentless attacks on grounded Pokémon. The mere thought filled him with excitement, though he knew Nidoking was still far from mastering Moonwalk, having yet to even perfect Shave. Nevertheless, it didn't stop him from fantasizing.

While Ron dreamed, Nidoking acted. Its Flamethrower surged forth, forming a massive pillar of fire that obliterated the large tree Ron had designated as a target. The fire left a charred trench on the ground where it passed.

"Excellent. Next, Nidoking, alternate using Thunderbolt and other moves until you've fully adjusted to your strength," Ron instructed.

Upon hearing his command, Nidoking unleashed a series of attacks, alternating between Flamethrower and other moves to familiarize itself with the boosts provided by Sheer Force and the Life Orb. It quickly realized the enhanced power of moves like Fire Blast, Thunder, and Blizzard.

By the time Nidoking had finished adapting to its new strength, the surrounding area was in ruins, resembling an apocalyptic wasteland.

Once satisfied, Ron chose not to linger in the forest. Pulling out his map, he confirmed his location. He was still on the road to Fuchsia City, though slightly off course. The closest notable location was the Pokémon League Certification Center.

Passing the certification exam would grant trainers the right to challenge the Indigo Plateau Conference without needing all eight badges. However, Ron wasn't interested in bypassing badge collection. His journey wasn't about the badges themselves but about using them as milestones to grow stronger and understand the unique traits of each town in the Kanto region.

Still, Ron found the certification test intriguing.

The first two rounds, which tested Pokémon knowledge, would be an excellent way to gauge his understanding of the Pokémon world. Before his transmigration, Ron had thoroughly studied Pokémon lore, which was why he could adapt so well to this world. As a modern person, Ron deeply valued the importance of knowledge and had been absorbing as much information as possible since passing his trial. This exam would serve as the perfect benchmark.

The final round, where participants had to command unfamiliar Pokémon in battle, particularly piqued his interest. He wanted to see if he had the charisma and skill to quickly establish rapport with new Pokémon.

With his decision made, Ron set off toward the Certification Center. Accustomed to traveling quickly using Kirlia's Teleport, he saw no reason to hold back now. Pointing in the desired direction, he let Kirlia teleport the group forward.

With Fighting Aura replenishing Kirlia's stamina and psychic power, the rapid use of Teleport also served as an effective training method, enhancing its abilities through continuous exertion and recovery.

This luxurious travel method brought Ron near the Certification Center in no time. Kirlia could sense the increasing presence of people nearby.

"That's enough, Kirlia. We'll walk the rest of the way," Ron said.

After finding a secluded spot to end their journey, Ron reluctantly decided to proceed on foot. He returned Kirlia to its Poké Ball and began strolling toward the Certification Center, gathering information about the area along the way.

Before long, figures started appearing in Ron's field of vision.

Every year, trainers who had given up on earning all eight badges, along with those who stumbled upon the Certification Center by chance, flocked to this place, creating a significant crowd.

The rigorous difficulty of the test was precisely what ignited Ron's competitive spirit.
