Chapter 4: Chapter 65: I Won't Do It Again, I Won't Do It Again +4
After leaving the Cuihua Palace, the two of them were a bit tired. They looked around and found a large rock near the Tianchi (Heavenly Pond) to sit on, seeking shade under a tree, planning to eat something.
"What's next?" Qin Guanglin asked, unfolding the tourist map while eating some bread, pondering where to go next.
"Just wander around, wherever we end up is fine."
"Alright then."
It was still only noon, so there was no need to have a rigid plan. They could just go with the flow.
"This doesn't taste good, here, take it." He Fang handed him the packet of biscuits and turned to dig through her backpack for something else.
"I told you it would taste bad when we bought it," Qin Guanglin muttered, but still took it and began munching.
"Why not try it? How would you know if you don't?" she teased.
"After trying it, I'm still the one who has to eat it."
"Isn't that your job?" He Fang raised an eyebrow at him.
"Yeah, of course," Qin Guanglin grinned, chewing the biscuits. After a few more pieces, he got used to the taste, which was a bit like banana flavor.
"This is your duty—'Imperial leftover guard,'" He Fang said with a playful kiss on his cheek. "Look, you've been promoted!"
"You still have biscuit crumbs on your lips," Qin Guanglin said, rubbing his face in mock indignation, and planted a kiss on her cheek, crumbs and all.
"You're so annoying!"
He Fang wiped her lips, rolling her eyes, and opened another packet of biscuits to try.
"Mmm, this one's good, try it." She lifted a piece and stuffed it into his mouth. After watching him chew it, she asked, "Good, right?"
Qin Guanglin took a moment to taste it. "The other one's still in my mouth, so I can't tell."
With both flavors mixing, he couldn't tell which one tasted better.
"Then drink some water and try again."
After finishing the unappetizing biscuits, Qin Guanglin ate another slice of bread. After drinking two bottles of water, his energy was mostly restored.
"Let's take some pictures over there." He Fang pointed to the distance.
"Again?!" Qin Guanglin groaned. Taking pictures with a woman was more exhausting than hiking. Every spot required different poses, each pose took several shots, and in the end, only one photo was usable.
He Fang noticed his reluctance but couldn't use her usual tactic of threatening him with kisses. She thought for a moment and said, "We'll post them on Moments."
"Why post them?" Qin Guanglin wasn't a fan of social media and rarely checked it.
"That way, all my friends will know I have a boyfriend, and they'll know what he looks like." He Fang smiled mischievously, "And my family will see too."
"Alright, let's go then." Qin Guanglin immediately pulled her toward the spot.
This was good. Whether her friends saw didn't matter, but at least he could give her family a little heads-up, making things easier when he visited them later.
"Do you think your family will dislike me?" he suddenly asked.
"Is that what you should be worried about right now? First, get enough beans, then worry about that," she replied.
"I'm almost there, just a bit more," Qin Guanglin said confidently.
He Fang smiled but tried to hide her amusement. "I don't believe you."
"It'll be done in the next two days," Qin Guanglin added, pulling out his phone to show her. However, when he opened the game app, it prompted him to log in again.
A bad feeling welled up inside him, and he glanced at He Fang. His suspicion grew stronger.
"You... which account did you use to play the game yesterday?" he asked.
He Fang looked away. "Of course, I used my own account."
"..."
Qin Guanglin's heart sank. It was over. All over.
He quickly logged into the game, only to find that his beans were down from five figures to four. He was furious. "You're cheating!"
"There's no cheating! You still owe me a lot!" He Fang looked guilty, but she avoided making eye contact.
She had gotten carried away and played too many rounds yesterday, losing quickly.
"This is not the same thing!" Qin Guanglin was livid. He'd wondered how she'd agreed so easily this morning—turns out it was all a trap. She had acted so surprised when he mentioned the beans earlier, pretending not to know.
"Did you plan this from the start?" Qin Guanglin demanded.
He Fang played dumb, "Planned what?"
"..."
He was seething now. How could she still act innocent?
In a moment of anger and frustration, he glared at her face for a moment before suddenly leaning down and kissing her.
"Stop..." He Fang barely managed to say one word before his lips were on hers. She looked around, feeling embarrassed as she tried to pull away.
It was just past noon, and the place was getting crowded with tourists. She felt her face flush and was too shy to move.
After a moment, Qin Guanglin pulled back to catch his breath but didn't let go. His face was still close to hers. "You have to accumulate them," he whispered.
"Let go of me first," He Fang blushed and tried to escape. "It's just a few beans. Is it really worth it?"
"Did you accumulate them?" Qin Guanglin leaned in again, no longer caring about the old man's issues. He just wanted her to agree.
He Fang turned her face, reluctantly nodding. "Fine, fine, I'll accumulate them."
"You said it."
Qin Guanglin was satisfied. Seeing her flushed cheeks, he kissed her again before finally releasing her.
As expected, when you push, she weakens. Ignoring face and pride made everything unstoppable.
"Let's go!" He Fang quickly pulled him away, seeing that others were noticing them. She didn't even want to take the pictures anymore.
"There are so many people. What was that for? You didn't say you wouldn't take me," she grumbled, her face still red and pouting.
"Who cares if people are watching? No one knows us anyway," Qin Guanglin replied, feeling better, but still slightly embarrassed. "It's your fault for being so cunning."
"If you do that again, I'll bite you!" He Fang warned.
She dragged him forward, stopping once she thought they were far enough from the crowd. She wasn't sure where they had ended up.
"Where are we?" Qin Guanglin looked at the map, trying to figure it out.
He Fang glared at him, then reached over to pinch the soft part of his waist. "Stop being reckless! Stop it!"
"Ow! Stop pinching!" Qin Guanglin yelped, trying to squirm away but couldn't. Her little hand seemed to know exactly where to pinch.
"Hey, this is Taiyi Palace. Do you want to pray?" he said, trying to change the topic.
"Don't move," He Fang ordered, raising her hand.
"Okay, I won't move," Qin Guanglin complied, not knowing what she was up to.
