Percy Jackson - Godwyn the Golden

Chapter 23 - Uncertainties and Memories (II)

"Godwyn, they are aberrations, they are not your brothers!" The majestic voice of the woman was tinged with an intense tone of anger.

"You are wrong, they are innocent, sweet, and adorable children." Godwyn heard a voice similar to his retort to the woman with all the conviction in the world.

"Radagon, take Godwyn to his chambers, the prince cannot leave until further notice." The woman's voice sounded again, her anger even more evident in her voice.

"Marika, they are children…" The man's voice was deep, powerful, but with a gentle severity.

"Enough!" But the woman didn't care about the man's words. "Take him and leave him alone to reflect on his mistakes."

"Godwyn, your mother is just angry, she is under great pressure, don't blame her…" The man said as he locked the boy in the room.

In the next moment, Godwyn opened his eyes and found himself in the car again. The memories of another life made the Nordic Demigod show a complicated expression.

Three lives… he lived three lives.

Feeling the Destined Death in his body, he showed a desperate expression. It seemed that Destined Death was the cause of his death the first time and the second time too.

Will he die because of this curse in this life?

Godwyn didn't know, but he would do anything not to die again. Three lives were already enough.

He looked at who was driving and found Luke, concentrating on the road. Turning his head, he saw Thalia, sitting beside him with a calm expression.

"How long did I sleep?" Noticing that he had slept leaning on Thalia's shoulders, Godwyn was surprised for a moment, but he soon calmed down and asked in a calm tone.

"About two hours." Seeing his face, which was normal, without any sign of paleness, Thalia replied in a relieved tone. It was obvious that the golden boy had recovered from whatever had happened to him.

Hearing the time he slept, Godwyn frowned and asked incredulously. "We weren't attacked!?" It was a two-hour car ride, they were getting closer and closer to Long Island, he couldn't believe they hadn't been attacked even once.

"We're surprised too." Thalia could understand Godwyn's confusion, previously they were attacked almost every hour of the day. They even fought for half a day before they could finally rest for a while.

So, two hours without attacks explained that something abnormal was happening, especially as they were getting closer to Camp Half-Blood.

Godwyn's face was solemn. This could only be explained by one thing. All the monsters were concentrating at the entrance of Camp Half-Blood! This was definitely bad news. News so bad that it was somewhat desperate.

"This is bad news, the monsters are probably accumulating in droves at the camp entrance." Although Godwyn said they fought hordes of monsters, these hordes had at most a few hundred monsters. But now, a true horde of monsters is waiting at the Camp entrance.

"We need a way to get to the camp without having to face an army of underworld monsters." Godwyn said to Thalia, who nodded. Fighting an army of strategically positioned monsters was not sensible, but pure stupidity.

"Luke, if we clear the way for you, can you take Annabeth and Grover to the camp with your teleportation?" Thalia asked with an extremely solemn and calm tone. At this moment, she truly looked like a warrior princess.

Godwyn, Luke, Annabeth, Grover, and Mimir looked at Thalia, guessing Thalia's purpose from her words.

However, Godwyn did not dispute Thalia's words, he would help the girl fight the horde of monsters while the others would enter Camp Half-Blood, safe with the protection of other demigods and Dionysus.

"If that's what you want, we will fight side by side. Let the Lord of the Underworld and the Queen of Heaven watch the best show they have ever seen in their immortal lives." Godwyn said with a big smile, showing his teeth. There was no fear or terror before a battle. He was a warrior trained to prevent Ragnarok, he was born to fight and feared no battle.

Thalia looked at Godwyn, his golden eyes seemed to dissipate the darkness in her heart. That smile that always showed contagious joy was slightly fierce, but this did not impact his appearance, it only made him more beautiful.

The Thunder Princess's heart suddenly pounded, beating extremely fast. Young and inexperienced, she didn't know how to deal with the feelings that appeared in her mind. So, as she always did before the unknown, she reacted instinctively. Clenching her fist, she hit Godwyn's shoulder, who stared at her with wide eyes, confused, without understanding why Thalia had hit him.

"What did I do to get punched?" Touching the spot hit by Thalia's blow, Godwyn asked with a sour and confused expression. But, inside, he agreed with Freya's words, women's emotions were like the sea, one second everything was calm and the next second there was a storm in the sky.

"I hit you when I want." The girl said with a fierce look as she looked at Godwyn, desperately trying to hide what she was feeling at that moment.

Godwyn shook his head and put his questions aside, he felt that Thalia would hit him if he insisted on continuing to ask.

For some reason, Luke felt something break in his heart, he didn't quite understand what was happening, but he didn't delve into the matter, especially knowing what was waiting for them at the Camp entrance.

"I want to fight alongside you." Luke refused to abandon his friends. What was the difference between him and a coward?

Annabeth had a similar look in her eyes, how could she run away without her friends?

Although Grover had joined the group recently, he also didn't want to abandon those he should protect. Not just out of responsibility, but out of friendship.

But Godwyn's next words were sharp and precise.

"You are weak and have become a burden to us."

Godwyn was right about something, truths were often more painful than a lie. Just like at this moment, Luke, Grover, and Annabeth felt a painful tightening in their chests. Although they knew it was true, they didn't want to face that fact.

Seeing this, Godwyn smiled gently and spoke. "Don't be ashamed of something like this, being weak means you can get stronger."

Showing a serious expression. "But, before you are strong, you must flee without any hesitation. Bravery without power is stupidity."

"Are you going to be okay?" Annabeth asked with a trembling and tearful tone, tears welled up in the seven-year-old girl.

"Thalia and I are strong, little owl." Godwyn replied, ruffling Annabeth's hair with a smile. There was no feeling of imminent death or any negative emotion around him, only the purest feeling of positivity and joy. "We will survive even if the King of the Underworld dares to decree our deaths."

Annabeth looked at Godwyn and for the first time thought that Godwyn was strong not only because of his power, but because of his courage to face adversity without fear.

Looking at herself, she saw a girl scared of spiders, timid, tearful, useless, and lonely.

This was seven-year-old Annabeth Chase, but seeing Godwyn, for the first time in her life, she wanted to become better, not just for herself, but for Godwyn who had so much confidence in her. She didn't want to disappoint the man she had come to think of as a brother.

"Do you promise me you'll be strong and obey Luke?" Godwyn asked with a cheerful smile, without any tension about facing the Army of Hades and the Army of the Queen of Heaven.

Annabeth nodded. She couldn't be strong now, but she would be strong later. This feeling of being a burden to people is extremely painful.

"Luke, remember when we arrive, Thalia and I will clear the way for you to take Annabeth and Grover, don't hesitate for a moment." Godwyn said, looking directly into Luke's eyes, he had never been as solemn as before. Even when he faced Nidhogg, he wasn't so serious because he had prepared correctly.

But now, he had to fight different creatures all at the same time, he wasn't Batman who had the power of the script to fight Superman being just a mere human.

His chances of getting hurt?

100%!

His chances of dying?

Uncertain.

But, remembering his memories, Godwyn was not afraid. Anyway, he died twice, one more time wouldn't make a difference.

But, Godwyn wasn't so worried about dying, he had gods and goddesses who were his friends. He wouldn't believe that Hades would dare to kill him in Greek territory, especially since he was Odin's son.

It was practically declaring war on the Nordic Pantheon...

Huh?

Declare war?

Wasn't that like killing two birds with one stone?

Plans and more plans appeared in Godwyn's mind, then a smile appeared on his lips.
