Chapter 194: Chapter 194
Nami's eyes lit up with excitement after hearing the plan. Finally, they were going out again. She couldn't hide how thrilled she was.
Ever since they left the Sabaody Archipelago, they hadn't stopped at any major island. Now, with this mission to locate someone, they could stretch their legs and explore a bit too.
And with 200 million Beli freshly pocketed, they were practically itching to spend it.
"Alright, it's settled then. I'll take on this mission!" Uta said cheerfully, jumping at the opportunity.
Robin and Nami nodded without hesitation.
"Okay, okay, let's head out immediately! No time to waste!" Nami called out, already preparing to launch. "Well, not yet—wait for Kairos to finish talking!"
Then, without waiting for a response, Nami soared into the air and let out a sharp roar. In the blink of an eye, she had transformed into BattleGreymon.
Her massive figure hovered above the sea, whipping up huge waves of wind and water with her wings.
Uta and Robin leapt effortlessly onto her shoulders.
"Hey! Be quick and don't keep me waiting. I'm in a hurry," Kairos Flint shouted from the deck, watching them with crossed arms.
"Wait, don't rush!" Nami and Uta laughed mischievously.
With Uta pointing the way and Nami flying swiftly through the sky, they vanished into a crimson streak on the horizon.
"What a bunch of troublemakers," Kairos muttered, scratching his head and returning to his chair to sunbathe.
Suddenly, Vivi emerged from below deck, rubbing her eyes. "There was such a loud noise just now. Where is everyone?" She looked around to see only Kairos on the deck.
"They went out for a bit," Kairos replied with a shrug and a smile.
Vivi tilted her head, still a bit puzzled.
"Master Kairos, time to eat!" Baby-5 called out, appearing in her maid outfit. She ran over from the kitchen, carrying a chilled glass of sweet juice.
Kairos took the glass and downed it in one gulp. Wrapping his arms around Vivi and Baby-5, he led them both into the kitchen.
Whether it was time to eat—or time to eat them—it seemed both were on the menu.
Meanwhile, in the New World, chaos had erupted.
"Crazy! The Whitebeard Pirates have gone completely insane!"
"Run! What the hell are they doing?"
"Please! Take the Devil Fruit! Just don't kill me!"
All across the New World, brutal pirate skirmishes broke out. The 12th Division Captain of the Whitebeard Pirates led several crews in intercepting other pirate groups—ambushing those heading into the New World or those already settled there.
Their demands were simple: hand over any Devil Fruits or Devil Fruit users aboard, or die.
Resistance was met with immediate and overwhelming force.
The Whitebeard Pirates, one of the most powerful Yonko crews, struck fear into the hearts of pirates still finding their footing in the New World. Some dared to fight back, but they were outclassed.
Only a few like Marco and Foil Bista showed restraint. The rest didn't hold back—killing without mercy to meet their goals.
They had struck a deal with Kairos Flint—to secure more Devil Fruits, and fast. And time was running out.
Fortunately, they mostly targeted pirate crews with notorious reputations—brutal, merciless pirates who had it coming. If a crew member surrendered their fruit or powers, they might be spared.
Still, the fear was real. The New World became a living nightmare for smaller pirate crews.
After half a month, they had only managed to capture one Devil Fruit and two fruit users, neither of which were anything special.
Even so, this small haul would be enough to strike a deal with Kairos Flint.
Navy Headquarters – Marshal's Office
Vice Admiral Ghost Spider burst in. "Marshal Sengoku! The Whitebeard Pirates have been acting abnormally. They've started attacking other pirate crews out of nowhere!"
"Twenty-one pirate groups have already been wiped out. All high-bounty crew members—those over a million Beli—have been captured. The total bounty accumulated now exceeds 2.3 billion."
Marshal Sengoku looked up from the documents on his desk, brows furrowed.
He was working on strategic battlefield preparations. With less than a month left before Ace's scheduled execution, he expected Whitebeard to be recruiting allies for a grand rescue mission.
But instead, the Whitebeard Pirates were decimating other pirate crews?
It made no sense.
"Do we know why?" Sengoku asked, puzzled.
Ghost Spider offered his own theory: "It's likely Whitebeard wants to rule the entire New World quickly—gathering all power to face us directly."
"That's absurd. He'd never consolidate power that fast." A sharp voice interrupted.
Everyone turned as Admiral Sakazuki (Akainu) walked through the door, clearly annoyed.
"General Sakazuki," Ghost Spider greeted politely. But sensing the tension, he quickly made his exit to give the Admiral and Marshal privacy.
Sengoku turned to Akainu. "Then what's your take? Do you know what Whitebeard's doing?"
It was baffling. Instead of strengthening alliances, Whitebeard was eliminating potential allies and destabilizing the entire region.
That wasn't just unorthodox—it was dangerous.
The less predictable the enemy, the more likely it was that strategic missteps could lead to disaster.
And right now, something big was brewing.
