Chapter 193: Chapter 193
"No, I don't have the power to bring him back. But…" Uta spread her arms excitedly, her cheeks flushed and lips curled into a smile. "I've got a brilliant plan—one that'll make the entire world believe that Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, is still alive. It'll shake the seas to their core."
Her words instantly captured everyone's attention.
Even Kairos Flint raised his eyebrows in intrigue. "Really now? Let's hear it. What's your plan?"
"Hehe," Uta giggled playfully, wiggling her fingers in front of Kairos's face. "I'll tell you… for 200 million Beli."
"Hey! Are you kidding me? Two-hundred million?!" Nami's hair practically stood on end at the number. She stormed over, dragging Uta toward her. "Two-hundred million Beli!? Do you think Beli grows on trees?!"
That much money could buy an endless supply of outfits and glittering jewelry.
"This thief," Nami muttered under her breath. "One sentence for 200 million Beli. Dream on."
Uta looked at Nami nervously, practically on the verge of tears. Nami's obsession with money was legendary.
"Nami, calm down! Tell you what—I'll give you 50 million Beli if you agree!" Uta begged, clearly regretting her joke.
"Nope. It's gotta be 100 million." Nami's eyes sparkled with profit-driven intent. She grabbed Uta's cheeks and squeezed. "Take it or leave it."
Uta whimpered but eventually nodded. "Okay, okay. 100 million."
The two made peace and locked arms as they strolled up to Kairos, hands outstretched.
Kairos twitched at the sight. These two tiger ladies were treating him like an ATM.
But then again, they were his women.
So with a reluctant sigh, he handed them each 100 million Beli.
"Fine. Here's your payment. Now, time to talk." Kairos crossed his arms and grinned. "But if your plan turns out to be useless, you're both guilty of fraud."
He leaned forward, eyes gleaming. "And if that happens, the two of you will be exclusively serving me while the others take a break."
A wicked smile crept across his face.
Nami and Uta stiffened. Nami groaned. "This was a bad idea... Uta, this better work. Otherwise, we'll be stuck in the East Blue for weeks."
"If it fails, it'll be just us… and him," she whispered.
But Uta beamed with confidence. "Don't worry, it's solid. In fact, I know a Devil Fruit user on Nalan Island. A girl. Really sweet—and her Devil Fruit is extremely rare."
Perona leaned in with curiosity. "Wait… is it the Fruit of Life? The one that brings back the dead?"
If that were true, it would be insane.
Everyone stared at Uta, suddenly more interested than ever.
"No way… That kind of fruit actually exists?" Nami's voice trembled.
"There are all sorts of strange Devil Fruits out there," Robin commented calmly. "Still, ones that can resurrect the dead… that's another level."
The crew murmured among themselves, but Robin turned toward Uta and asked directly, "So, what's her Devil Fruit?"
"Hehe," Uta giggled, brushing back her hair. "Well… she's not really a friend. Just someone I ran into. Her ability scared the life out of me the first time I saw it."
"Oh?" Robin's interest deepened.
Uta stopped teasing and finally explained, "It's a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit—the Phantom Fruit. It lets her project and materialize anything she imagines, whether it exists or not. It even has some power attached to it."
Kairos's eyes gleamed. "Wait… is her name An?"
"Eh?" Uta blinked. "You know her?"
"Is she a singer?" Kairos smirked knowingly.
Of course he knew her. During the 'Fever Incident,' An had stunned the world by using her Phantom Fruit to create a projection of Ace that was so realistic, it caused mass panic.
She left an impression—one Kairos wouldn't forget.
"What?! How do you know her?" Uta's voice had a note of jealousy now.
She and An had only interacted briefly during music festivals. How did Kairos know her that well?
Kairos grinned. "Actually, I've got a task for you. Want to take it?"
Uta, intrigued again, leaned forward. "Okay, what is it?"
"Find An," Kairos ordered. "If she doesn't come willingly, bring her by force."
Uta's face scrunched up. "You just want to meet your old flame again!"
Nami and the others all exchanged knowing glances.
Robin, however, smiled knowingly. "I see now. So that's your plan, Captain. It's a clever one."
Kairos smirked in satisfaction. Robin was sharp. She'd already pieced it together.
She really had the potential to become his military strategist—someone who could hold the ship together, even if he wasn't around.
Robin turned to the rest of the group. "This 'An'—she'll be a key player in what the Captain is trying to do. And she's important for the next step of releasing the Shadow Serpent."
"B-but…" Uta stammered. "We're not even close. If she refuses, I can't just kidnap her. That's messed up."
Kairos waved it off. "Robin, Nami—you go with Uta. Nami, transform into BattleGreymon using your Devil Fruit. Fly them to An's location."
With the combined strength of the three—Robin's intellect, Uta's influence, and Nami's raw combat power—they could travel freely, even if they encountered an Admiral.
They had nothing to fear.
"Just the three of us?" Uta pointed to herself, still in disbelief.
