Chapter 90: A Crazy Idea
“It’s just a deputy minister of a city’s Organizational Department? I thought it was someone more important.”
Zhou Lang sneered, finally understanding why Jiang Zhengqiu was acting so arrogant. It turned out he was just a spoiled rich kid with political connections.
In the past, Zhou Lang wouldn’t have dared to offend an official. But now, as a close friend of General Qin and with his good relationship with Lei Gang, the Party Secretary of Feiyun City, he had no reason to back down against someone like Jiang Zhengqiu.
“You’ve got quite the mouth on you. How dare you disrespect my father? So, will you cut off one of your own hands, or should I have my men do it for you? You ruined my friend’s plans, injured him, and now you’re insulting me and my father? You’re not walking out of here alive today!”
Jiang Zhengqiu spoke viciously, clearly ready to take action.
“If you want to cut off my hand, go ahead. I’m just not sure if you have the skill to do it. I don’t have many talents, but fighting is one of them,” Zhou Lang replied calmly.
“If you attack first, I’ll simply be defending myself.”
“You idiot, talking about the law with Master Jiang? You must be asking to die!”
Jiang Zhengqiu’s men laughed loudly.
“This guy doesn’t know his place. He thinks he’s tough just because he hurt Li Zhigang? Let’s teach him a lesson.”
Jiang Zhengqiu waved his hand, signaling his men to attack.
Earlier, Jiang Zhengqiu hadn’t been at the hotel because he was out picking up women. He came rushing back after receiving Li Zhigang’s call, who had warned him about Zhou Lang’s strength. But when he saw that Zhou Lang was just a young man, he didn’t take him seriously.
After all, the six men with Jiang Zhengqiu were well-known street fighters in Feiyun City, especially in Linwu District. Few dared mess with them.
“I’ll go first!”
One of the burly men, sporting a buzzcut, charged at Zhou Lang, aiming a punch at his chin, clearly hoping to knock him out with one blow. The man wanted to show off in front of his boss.
His strength was impressive, and the sound of his fist slicing through the air was intimidating. But Zhou Lang didn’t move. Instead, he casually reached out and caught the man’s fist.
The man was shocked by Zhou Lang’s speed and tried to pull his arm free, using all his strength to break the grip.
But no matter how much he struggled—even turning red in the face—his fist remained locked in Zhou Lang’s hand. The grip tightened, causing the man excruciating pain.
Panicking, the man lifted his knee, aiming a vicious strike at Zhou Lang’s groin. Humiliated that he couldn’t overpower a young man, he resorted to a dirty move, caring little if it could cause serious harm.
Zhou Lang saw the low blow coming, and a cold gleam flashed in his eyes. Just before the knee could make contact, Zhou Lang twisted the man’s arm outward.
The man felt an overwhelming force surge through his arm, and he was flipped over, crashing hard to the ground, dislocating his arm.
“Ah!” he screamed, thinking his arm had been broken.
In reality, Zhou Lang had used only a fraction of his strength. To him, these men were like ants—easily crushed. But he didn’t want to cause too much of a scene, so he held back.
“Useless scum, embarrassing me like this. The rest of you, come with me. Let’s beat this guy to death!”
Jiang Zhengqiu, stunned for a moment, threw his cigarette to the ground and shouted angrily. He had thought Li Zhigang was exaggerating about Zhou Lang’s strength, but now he realized he had underestimated him. Leading the charge, he launched a flying kick at Zhou Lang.
Despite his sickly pale complexion and feminine appearance, Jiang Zhengqiu’s movements were sharp and precise. His legs struck out in rapid succession, aiming directly for Zhou Lang’s chest.
If it had been an ordinary person, they would have been knocked down, possibly coughing up blood.
Jiang Zhengqiu’s reputation was well-deserved, and the other five men rushed forward to surround Zhou Lang, intending to gang up on him.
In such a small space, six against one should have been an overwhelming advantage.
As Jiang Zhengqiu’s kick neared, he already imagined victory—Zhou Lang beaten senseless and kneeling before him, begging for mercy.
But just as the kick was about to land, Zhou Lang made his move.
He casually reached out and caught Jiang Zhengqiu’s foot.
Jiang Zhengqiu’s forward momentum came to an abrupt halt, leaving him suspended mid-air.
He was dumbfounded. How could someone possess this kind of strength, holding him up as effortlessly as a hawk clutching a chick?
With a slight push, Zhou Lang sent Jiang Zhengqiu flying backward, crashing into one of his men.
Jiang Zhengqiu hit the ground hard, his head spinning, feeling as though his backside had split in two. If Zhou Lang had used more force, Jiang Zhengqiu would’ve been smashed into the wall, his brains splattered everywhere.
The man Jiang Zhengqiu collided with fared no better—his leg was dislocated, and he couldn’t stand.
“You four, kill him!”
Jiang Zhengqiu sat on the ground, rubbing his leg and shouting in rage. What had started as an intent to teach Zhou Lang a lesson and take Li Mengxue for some fun had now turned into a deadly grudge.
The remaining four men, having witnessed Zhou Lang’s strength, were hesitant but still pulled knives from their belts and cautiously advanced.
“Playing with knives?”
Zhou Lang said calmly.
“Then I won’t play with you anymore.”
In a blink, Zhou Lang disarmed them with a technique so fast that the men didn’t realize their knives had been taken and their arms dislocated until it was too late.
In moments, all seven men, including Jiang Zhengqiu, were incapacitated.
Jiang Zhengqiu stared at Zhou Lang as though he were a monster, too terrified to speak.
“Get out!”
Zhou Lang shouted coldly, throwing the knives at Jiang Zhengqiu’s feet.
“If you have the guts, stay right here! I’ll be back for you, and even if you run, I’ll find you. I’ll make sure you die without a grave!”
Jiang Zhengqiu struggled to his feet and left with his men, but not before delivering a vicious threat.
“I’d better wake Li Mengxue and get her out of here,” Zhou Lang thought. He had a good idea of what Jiang Zhengqiu was planning next, so he pressed a few acupoints on Li Mengxue’s body.
Li Mengxue slowly regained consciousness.
“Sister Xue, I’ve already expelled the drug Li Zhigang gave you. This place isn’t safe anymore. Let’s leave,” Zhou Lang said.
“Zhou Lang, you must have scared off Li Zhigang when you saved me, right? The hotel should be safe now. There’s no need to leave in such a hurry. Why don’t we just stay here tonight? I have something I want to talk to you about,” Li Mengxue said, her face flushing with embarrassment.
She remembered how her body had burned with heat earlier and how she had thrown herself at Zhou Lang. Now, knowing Zhou Lang had a girlfriend, she felt a bit ashamed. She knew she shouldn’t be so close to him.
But deep down, she craved Zhou Lang’s presence. She wanted to stay with him, and a crazy thought crossed her mind—she wanted to give her first time to Zhou Lang!
