Paper Paper Fruit In One Piece

Chapter 470: Chapter 470: Marines Turn, Reinforcements Arrive

East Blue, Loguetown.

"Move, everyone! Stay away from the buildings!"

The ground trembled endlessly. Outside, the waves grew taller and taller.

Even if they didn't want to believe it, reality forced the Marines to evacuate civilians toward the center of the island.

"Daddy, why are the angels fighting the Marine uncles?"

"And that god said he's going to destroy the world… is that true?"

A little girl, the same one who once accidentally spilled ice cream on Smoker, stood by the bustling crowd. She pointed at the giant screen in the town square, where an apocalyptic battle was unfolding.

"Aren't gods supposed to be kind? Aren't angels supposed to protect children? Then why—"

"Let the Marine uncles handle this,"

A middle-aged man crouched down, lifting his daughter into his arms. He gently ran his fingers through her golden hair.

"We have to trust the Marines."

We have to trust them…

—————

"Three-Sword Style—Black Crow Demon Hunt!!"

Blades shot through the air, slicing apart over a dozen angelic knights clad in golden armor reinforced with Haki.

But within seconds, dozens more charged in, swarming like a tidal wave.

Zoro was getting seriously annoyed.

"Tch, that damn Roman…"

Reliable as an ally, but an absolute nightmare as an enemy.

Even if these were just his creations, they were still a pain to deal with.

"White Bind!"

A thick cloud of smoke suddenly surged in from the side, trapping several angelic puppets. Then—

Thud! Thud! Thud!

A massive ten-hand truncheon, lined with Seastone, slammed through the puppet knights. The moment it pierced their Haki-covered armor, the Seastone's effects instantly disrupted them.

They began to collapse, their bodies crumbling into drifting sheets of white paper.

Say what you will about Smoker—he might have gotten his ass kicked three times in a row after the time skip, but his smoke-trap-then-Seastone-smack combo?

For dealing with weaker Devil Fruit users, it was stupidly effective.

Even against artificial creations, it worked like a charm.

"Isn't that 'White Hunter'? Are you still going to keep chasing—"

Just as Zoro turned to look at Smoker, an angel puppet suddenly swung a sword at him.

Clang! Zoro didn't turn around or move at all! That's because a figure in a pink Marine officer's coat had already stepped in to block the attack.

"Thanks, glasses girl~~"

"Hmph, my name is Tashigi!"

Fuming, Tashigi gritted her teeth as she struggled to hold back the angel puppet.

"Is this really the time for small talk?"

Boom! The ground exploded violently as Zoro leaped forward! His target was none other than the bald elder among the Five Elders—the one wearing a robe and wielding the First Generation Kitetsu.

"You're a swordsman too, right?"

Then come and fight me—

Clang!!

"Are you sure about this, Smoker Vice Admiral...?"

A Marine teaming up with pirates—it was unheard of! Even though Tashigi had seen countless shocking things while traveling with the Straw Hat Crew, this was Mariejois, the very heart of the World Government!

"Hah, if the World Government is going to rebel, then we Marines will uphold true justice!"

... "Justice!!!"

On the other side, Akainu was much more direct. His fists raged as massive magma fists shot into the air! Whenever they landed on the angel puppets, the molten lava burned straight through their Haki defenses, instantly setting them ablaze like torches.

It was clear that his Magma Fruit was the perfect counter to these angel puppets, which were essentially just paper. As long as he melted through their outer Haki, they were done for. Like a volcanic eruption, he wiped out hundreds, even thousands, of them, forcing two of the Five Elders to step in and deal with him.

"Akainu, are you insane?!"

"You're the crazy ones! Letting some woman destroy the world?! Today, in the name of justice, I'm wiping you all out!"

"All Marines, take down these World Government traitors!"

"...What the hell is happening...?"

For a moment, two of the Five Elders were too shocked to even speak.

This was madness!

Ordinary people were like cockroaches—they could die in droves, but they'd always come back. But the Celestial Dragons? They were gods! Their safety was the foundation of their eternal rule, their wealth, their status!

"Quick, wipe out these rebels!"

Black-suited agents, armored guards, elite CP0 members...

Even a bunch of Celestial Dragons, their heads trapped in glass bubbles, picked up guns and started firing wildly. Even fools could tell that things were going south fast.

As descendants of the original Twenty Kings, their bloodlines were strong. Even if they had been raised like pigs, they were still well-trained pigs.

Of course, not all of them had the guts to fight—some ran for their lives.

"Huff... huff... huff..."

A particularly fat Celestial Dragon was running frantically, desperately trying to flee back to his 'home.' He burst into a familiar room and immediately collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath.

Just then—

"Why are you so panicked, Fluctuoso Saint?"

A tall man stood in the room, his back turned. He swirled a long-stemmed wine glass in his hand, the golden liquid inside reflecting his blood-red eyes.

"Y-You... who are you?"

The pig-like Celestial Dragon jumped in fright at the unexpected visitor, but then—

"I don't care who you are! Go outside and kill those traitors! If you do, I'll reward you handsomely..."

"I own twenty percent of the world's wealth. I'm the most famous star in the world. I'm a king. But the only thing I truly want is—"

The man turned around. His slicked-back gray-green hair, his purple sunglasses, his flashy pink outfit—all of it contrasted sharply with his massive, intimidating frame. He carried the aura of a true underworld boss.

But more terrifying than anything was the madness in his bloodshot eyes—an eerie mix of despair and twisted joy.

"My lost love, Stella."

Now I have money, more than I could ever spend! But I've lost you forever...

"A woman? Tell me what kind you want, and I'll get her for you—"

The bloated Celestial Dragon in front of him was still trying to 'buy him off,' but Gild Tesoro simply smiled. A cruel, merciless smile.

"Twenty years ago, you took Stella from me right in front of my eyes!"

?! "Wait, I can give that slave—no, no, that woman back to you—?"

In the next second, the fat Celestial Dragon's sluggish brain finally managed to turn its gears.

"Oh no… none of my slaves have ever lasted more than three years—"

*Thud!*

Tesoro grabbed the Celestial Dragon by the throat. The man's desperate eyes widened as he watched the golden liquid crawl from Tesoro's palm onto his body, but he couldn't make a single sound.

The only thing filling the room was a strange, eerie laughter—half sobbing, half hysterical.

"Hahahaha... Hehehehe!!!"

*Creak.*

"BOSS,"

The door swung open again. Outside, three of Tesoro's officers stood in gleaming golden armor.

With a snap of his fingers, Tesoro turned toward them.

"Let's go. How could we possibly miss such a grand stage?"

Behind him, the only thing left in the room was a puddle of eerie, twisted gold.

—————

"Princess Vivi, you have to leave this place!"

Bell and Chaka stood on either side of Vivi, swords drawn to protect her.

Thanks to the Haki training manual Roman had sent them, the royal guards of Alabasta had finally escaped the embarrassment of not even knowing what Haki was.

But—

Two years was simply too short a time. Not everyone was a genius like Roman, Luffy, or Zoro.

Bell and Chaka had only just begun to grasp Haki. They could barely coat their weapons with it, but their control was so rough it was almost invisible. Even with their Devil Fruit powers, they could only just manage to protect themselves…

"Hahahaha~~"

Laughter echoed through the air, thick with Haki.

The wind howled. The ground dried up, cracking apart, turning into a vast golden desert.

"They were right, Ms. Wednesday."

?!

"SAND CROCODILE—CROCODILE!"

A swirl of golden sand rose, forming the shape of a man—a fur coat draped over his shoulders, a cigar between his lips, and a massive golden hook in place of his right hand.

Standing above them, Crocodile, his lower half spinning like a sandstorm, looked down at the three of them.

"This battlefield isn't for weaklings like you. Get lost and go hide in the back!"

"Why are you here? Are you still after the ancient weapon?"

Vivi's voice was sharp with accusation.

Crocodile glanced at the angel army soaring through the sky.

Each one of them was strong enough to make a name for themselves across the seas. Together, they formed a force so powerful it could shake the world.

But—

"Ancient weapons? I don't care about them anymore. Because I plan to surpass all of that—"

"Let's go, Mr. 1!"

"Got it."

As Crocodile rode the wind and sand toward the angel army, Daz Bones, the 'Slice-Slice Fruit' user, followed right behind, his arms turning into gleaming blades.

"SAND CROCODILE,"

At this point, do you still see yourself as some kind of 'hero'?

No.

Crocodile was only here because *he* wanted to be. That was the only reason.

Still, the strength to fight side by side...

"Well, if you all want to fight too..."

?!

Vivi and her two guards spun around, startled.

Somehow, at some point, a small girl had appeared behind them.

She wore a pink hat and a blue-and-white cloud-patterned shirt. One hand held a paintbrush, the other a painter's palette. Her hair was tied up in twin pigtails.

"Ms. Golden Week?"

"My name is Marianne. I'm just a painter working at Spider's Café now, but..."

She lifted her paintbrush and pointed it at Im, floating high in the sky.

"Like this, we won't be able to keep our bar open at all."

No, no, even without Imu, your bar was doomed from the start. A bar in the middle of a desolate desert, where the number of staff is higher than the number of customers in an entire year...

"So, if you want to fight, I'll help you."

————

"Ahhh! Why is everyone chasing *me*?!"

Thanks to a single bottle of alcohol turning the tide of battle, Usopp finally achieved what he had always dreamed of—being the center of attention!

"I *never* wanted this kind of attention!!"

Not only were CP0's elite agents hot on his heels, but even the angelic army in the sky had taken notice of the "culprit" and sent a massive force after him.

The "brave warrior of the sea" was now running for his life in tears, getting an early taste of what it was like to be a wanted man worth a billion berries!

"Go, Jackal Legion!"

In the desert created by Crocodile, towering figures over three meters tall suddenly emerged—warriors with the heads of jackals, resembling Anubis himself.

Their hell-forged spears gleamed with a deadly cold light, their massive jaws lined with razor-sharp fangs, and their bodies were sculpted from hardened desert sand.

The jackal warriors howled in unison, their cries merging into a deafening roar that shook the battlefield.

The earth trembled beneath their feet, sending waves of sand swirling into the air. The fine grains danced wildly as they charged forward, weapons raised.

Even before they got close, their sheer presence radiated an overwhelming killing intent, making them seem like an unstoppable tsunami, crushing everything in their path with an earth-shaking roar!

Swoosh—

Then, they completely ignored Usopp and charged straight at the CP0 elites behind him.

"Stop them, Golden Eagle Warriors!"

At the same time, a legion of warriors descended from the sky—each clad in gleaming golden armor, donning hawk-shaped helmets, and wielding staffs made of pure light.

Though not as strong as the angelic army, they engaged the enemy without hesitation, ensuring they wouldn't get through.

???

"You guys are...?"

"It's me, Usopp. I'm Chaka."

Chaka, now in his jackal form, adorned in lavish gold ornaments, gave a surprisingly gentle smile despite his fierce appearance.

"We look a little different now."

Zoan-Type: Inu Inu no Mi, Mythical Model—Anubis (Pseudo).

A *little* different?

That's a complete transformation!

Usopp was at a loss for words as he turned to see Pell, now in his white-robed, golden-winged warrior form.

Zoan-Type: Tori Tori no Mi, Mythical Model—Nut (Pseudo).

"So, this is your dream?"

Meanwhile, beneath the shimmering "Rainbow of Dreams," Miss Goldenweek pointed ahead at Vivi.

The princess now stood before her, wearing a pirate captain's coat, a skull-patterned hat on her head, a flintlock pistol at her waist, and a scimitar in hand.

"If it's a *dream*, then go all out and make it real."

————

**PS:** Alabasta is based on Egypt, but it appeared too early in the story, so Chaka and Pell's Devil Fruits weren't officially Mythical Zoans.

If they had appeared later, they *definitely* would have been!

And as for Goldenweek—she's basically the embodiment of an artist's will. With her paintbrush, anything is possible~~
