Chapter 146: With Asia
After dropping Freed on Nazarick, specifically to demiurge, for his field trip, Arthur made his way to the underground passage.
As his footsteps echoing softly against the cold stone floor. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth, blood, sweat, and the unmistakable sounds of the metallic tang of battle.
As he approached, the sound of clashing metal and frantic shouting grew louder. Arthur could hear Kiba's sword striking against something solid, Koneko's fierce grunts, and Issei's strained voice as they struggled against their opponent.
Is Dohnaseek really that strong? Arthur thought to himself. He had expected this fight to be over quickly. Had he overestimated Koneko and the others? Or perhaps underestimated the fallen angel?
"Only one way to find out." Arthur said as he moved forward.
Kiba was locked in battle with Dohnaseek. Kiba's sword was moving in a swift, precise arc, yet a fallen angel was matching him from blow to slash.
Koneko stood off to the side, watching for an opening, but every time she tried to engage, Dohnaseek forced her back with a well-placed strike from his light spear.
And Issei was breathing heavily and was clutching his sacred gear, Boosted Gear, his eyes darting between his allies and their opponent. Despite his determination, he was clearly out of his depth.
"Noob." That the only world Arthur could murmur when seeing issei.
Then Arthur let out a sigh. It looks like I really did overestimate them.
"Oi," Arthur's voice cut through the noise like a blade.
The fighting stopped momentarily. Dohnaseek turned his head slightly, his expression darkening as he spotted Arthur.
"You…" Dohnaseek turned his attention to me. "You are the one from before."
"Oh, you remember me." Arthur said with a smile.
"Arthur, what happened to Freed?" Issei asked Arthur.
"He is dead," Arthur said, then looked at Dohnaseek. "I am in a hurry, so don't we finish this fast?"
Without warning, Dohnaseek lunged at Arthur, his light spear shining with energy.
Arthur didn't move.
Not until the last second.
With a simple step to the side, he avoided the attack completely. Before Dohnaseek could recover, Arthur's hand shot out, grabbing the fallen angel's wrist.
The next moment—
CRACK!
A sickening snap echoed through the underground chamber as Arthur twisted Dohnaseek's wrist, forcing the light spear to dissipate. The fallen angel cried out in pain, but Arthur wasn't done.
A burst of energy surged through Arthur's palm, sending a powerful shockwave straight into Dohnaseek's chest. The fallen angel was sent flying backward, slamming into the stone wall with enough force to crack it.
Kiba, Koneko, and Issei stood in stunned silence.
Arthur dusted off his hands and turned to them. "You guys took way too long," he remarked.
Issei gulped. "Dude... what the hell was that?"
Arthur ignored him and instead looked toward the passage leading deeper underground. "You three stay here. I'll handle the rest."
[Arthur, the fallen angel we defeated, said that Raynare is at the altar with Asia. She's trying to extract her Sacred Gear.] Rias said through their communication link.
"Yeah, I'm already on my way." Arthur said.

The underground alter was bathed in a creepy red glow from all the torches lining the walls and ceiling, and at its center, a massive stone cross stood, and bound to it was Asia Argento.
Asia delicate form trembled as the glowing chans of light wrapped around her wists and ankles, preventing any movement. If anyone looks at her face, they can see the dried-up tears down her pale cheeks; her normally green, bright eyes looked empty.
And standing before her—Raynare.
The Raynare held a crual smile on her face as she pressed her hand against Asia's chest. A golden light pulsed beneath her palm as she worked to extract Asia's sacred gear.
"You should be grateful, dear Asia," Raynare purred; her voice is filled with fake sympathy. "Your power is wasted on someone like you. But don't worry—I'll put it to much better use."
Asia whimpered, struggling against the chains, but she was too weak.
Arthur stepped into the chamber, his presence immediately drawing Raynare's attention.
"Who's there?!" she snapped, turning sharply.
When she saw Arthur, her eyes widened slightly before narrowing into a glare. "Tch, another devil?"
Arthur didn't even look at Raynare, as his entire focus was on Asia. But unlike what one normally expects reaction, like anger, regret, and such, in Arthur's eyes there was nothing; his eye was calm.
Some might say that he is too emotionless, like a machine, but all of you need to remember that Ancient One is a million or so years old; he has seen everything, evil and kindness, this world has to offer to him.
So compared to peak cruelty the fallen angel, Devil, and humans inflict upon each other, compared to that this is nothing.
Even then, you can't change the fact that Asia is going to be someone important to Arthur in the future because of that Raynere will get her punishment.
Raynare smirked. "Oh? You're different from the others. Stronger, maybe? No matter. You're too late, anyway."
Arthur tilted his head. "Too late?"
Raynare chuckled. "Asia's sacred gear is about to be extracted. Once it's done, she'll be nothing but a useless husk. And you devils won't be able to do anything about it."
Arthur sighed. "You talk too much."
Raynare's smirk faltered. "Excuse me?"
Before she could react, Arthur was suddenly in front of her.
Her instincts screamed at her to move—but she was too slow.
Arthur's hand shot forward, gripping her throat in an iron grip.
"Let go of me!" Raynare choked, clawing at his hand, but Arthur didn't even flinch.
His glowing purple eyes bore into her.
"Undo the process," he commanded, his voice devoid of emotion.
Raynare grated her teeth. "Like hell, I will!"
Arthur's grip tightened. "I said....Undo...the...process."
