Chapter 66: Chapter 66: You Think You Can Run? Vincent Fox Makes His Move
"You..."
Uncle Nate's expression darkened as he saw Vincent take out the last young man.
"He already told you the truth. Why did you still kill him?"
Vincent ignored him.
Instead, he turned to Autumn Summer. "Autumn, what do you think of what I just did?"
Autumn replied calmly, "Killing him was the right call. If he made it back to Martial Saint Academy, he'd definitely deny everything and bring a world of trouble down on us."
Vincent chuckled.
"Not bad, Autumn. You've grown a lot."
She rolled her eyes at him.
This annoying guy, always calling her "little Autumn" like he was a whole generation older!
"Martial Saint Academy... what kind of sect is that?" Uncle Nate frowned. "Where exactly are you two from?"
"Uncle Nate, some questions are better left unanswered," Vincent replied with a smile. Then he turned to the captives. "Alright, time to move. Let's go!"
Just then, Uncle Nate suddenly stepped in front of him.
"Wait!" he said sternly. "Young man, your thirst for blood runs too deep. You're not suited to command a flying zombie."
"This zombie has reached a dangerous level of evolution. If it ever escapes your control, it could wreak havoc on the world. No one would be able to stop it!"
Vincent frowned. "So what are you saying, Uncle Nate?"
"Join me. Let's destroy the zombie here and now, while we still can," Uncle Nate said, full of righteous resolve.
But Vincent had long lost patience with his outdated sense of morality.
He simply stepped aside and pointed at Old Ren. "There he is. If you want to kill him, go ahead."
Uncle Nate froze.
"You're... not going to help?"
"Help you? Why would I?" Vincent said bluntly. "This zombie is like my dog. You want to kill my dog, and expect me to lend a hand? If you're going to do it, do it fast. I'm on a schedule."
Uncle Nate's face turned ashen.
He looked at Vincent and said, "Young man, keeping this creature will one day bring you disaster."
Then he raised his wooden sword and, with the look of a man ready for martyrdom, walked toward the zombie.
Truth be told… Uncle Nate was scared.
But he knew all too well the danger of flying zombies. If this one kept evolving, no one would be able to stop it in the future.
His only hope now was that his secret technique could finish the job.
Otherwise, the world was doomed.
Vincent watched him go, brows tightening slightly. In the end, he didn't stop him.
He respected Uncle Nate's righteous spirit, but charging headfirst into death for the sake of principle was just foolish.
If a man insisted on dying, Vincent wouldn't stop him.
Autumn glanced at Vincent, saw that he wasn't moving, and also held back from speaking.
…
Uncle Nate finally stood before Old Ren.
"Monster, face your end!" he roared, swinging his wooden sword down.
Old Ren's eyes glinted with confusion.
He couldn't understand. He'd just spared this man, and now the guy was attacking him?
As the wooden sword slashed down, Old Ren backed away, casting a questioning glance at Vincent.
Seeing Vincent's blank expression, the zombie looked even more puzzled.
Then the chase began.
Uncle Nate kept swinging, and Old Ren kept dodging, retreating farther and farther away.
Moments later, the zombie seemed to snap.
With a snarl and a flash of fangs, he struck back, flinging Uncle Nate through the air.
Thud!
Uncle Nate slammed to the ground, groaning as he struggled to rise, only to discover his arm had been broken by the zombie's blow.
His face went pale.
With his arm shattered, his secret technique was useless.
And then, seeing no response from Vincent,Old Ren revealed his true, vicious nature and lunged toward Uncle Nate.
Defeated, Uncle Nate simply closed his eyes, ready to die.
But something unexpected happened.
Old Ren didn't strike.
Instead, he turned mid-pounce… and flew straight into the distance.
Even a fool could see it.
The zombie was trying to escape!
"..."
Uncle Nate was dumbfounded, totally confused.
In the distance, Vincent's face darkened.
He finally realized what was going on.
Old Ren had been faking it the whole time.
Using the excuse of a fight with Uncle Nate, he'd slowly worked his way farther and farther from Vincent.
That final strike to knock Uncle Nate flying? Just a way to gain more distance.
That damned thing was pulling off a classic diversion tactic.
"A damn mutt with no loyalty," Vincent muttered.
Then, he finally made his move.
He bent his body into a crouch, coiling like a spring.
The next moment…
BOOM!!
A thunderous explosion erupted beneath his feet. The ground within ten meters cracked and shattered as rubble flew in every direction.
Using the force of the blast, Vincent shot into the sky like a missile, rapidly closing in on the fleeing Old Ren.
Everyone around stood frozen in disbelief.
Autumn Summer stayed calm.
But Uncle Nate and the captured survivors were completely stunned.
They would never have imagined…
That Vincent Fox possessed such terrifying explosive power.
Was he even human anymore??
