Open the door, there is another world

Chapter 19: 19

---

It was like stepping into a wild land, where treasures that were usually out of reach were now right at his fingertips. Kaito couldn't help but absorb them, continuously increasing the amount of magical power in his body. Once absorbed, these treasures became his—no one would come asking for them back, and no one would charge him interest. Once this magical energy entered him, it became his capital, and that capital grew stronger the more he absorbed.

But soon, he felt a growing pain deep within his soul.

He knew he had reached his limit. A person can't grow fat by eating everything all at once. Even though no one could stop him from taking it, his original strength was limited. The magical energy he had absorbed had now reached his body's maximum threshold. He would need to digest it before he could continue absorbing more.

When he opened his eyes, the magical energy in his body had increased tenfold, and Kaito looked extremely pleased.

"Is this what stealing money feels like? It's absolutely amazing!"

The smile on his face was so wide that wrinkles formed at the corners of his eyes.

He closed his eyes again and began to control the magical energy inside him, letting it flow throughout his body and soul, warming them from within. This process would increase the load-bearing capacity of his body and soul. Sorcerers in the Marvel world needed to borrow magic to grow, which meant that energy had to be used wisely since it would eventually need to be paid back. Like receiving an investment to start a business—it must be used for growth, not wasted on pleasure. But the energy Kaito was absorbing was his own; no one could stop him, and no one could take it from him.

That was the benefit of autonomy.

His body and soul felt reinvigorated. As the magical power within him was consumed, Kaito continued absorbing even more from the outside world.

And so, he went on—absorbing, refining, and accumulating energy, seemingly without end. His body and soul continued to grow stronger. His capacity for magic steadily increased, and the warm sensation within him never faded. It was so euphoric that Kaito had no intention of stopping.

Suddenly, the door opened, and Lala peeked in curiously.

"Kaito, what are you doing?"

She noticed that he seemed to be glowing, her eyes filled with curiosity.

Kaito looked at her, smiled, and said, "Training."

"Training?" Lala blinked in surprise.

Kaito nodded and smiled. "Didn't the Elder teach me magic before? That's what I'm practicing."

"I see." Lala nodded, walked in, and asked with a grin,

"So what's the result? How big of a virtual space can you open now?"

"It's a mirror dimension," Kaito corrected.

Lala smiled and nodded. "Right, mirror dimension."

Kaito smiled in return, and then saw Mikan and Pekai following curiously behind Lala.

He could feel the magical energy within him had increased twentyfold. While that might sound like a lot, his original amount had only been one unit. Now it was twenty—still modest, but enough to show significant progress.

Kaito opened his palms. "Let's give it a try."

As he spoke, a golden ring of magical sparks bloomed in his hand and expanded to a full meter in size.

Then Kaito pushed the circle forward, and it began to spin rapidly, passing through Lala, Mikan, and Pekai.

The three of them suddenly realized the room had changed—the directions of up, down, left, right, front, and back were all reversed.

Originally standing on the floor, they were now looking down at it from above—it had become the sky.

Then a glowing circle appeared in front of them, and Kaito stepped out from within it.

He stopped in front of them and asked with a smile, "How was it?"

Then he reached out his hand and pushed again. The space around them began to twist like a mirror.

It spun layer by layer, like a spiraling scroll. In Kaito's hands, space was like clay—he could mold it however he wished.

Sometimes the top became the bottom, sometimes the back became the front. At times, space flipped, folded, and transformed into mirrored reflections.

The diamond-shaped lens unfolded like a blooming mirror flower, more beautiful than any real flower on Earth. The space in his hands kept changing, reshaping, and unfolding.

Kaito almost couldn't stop himself—manipulating space at will was far too enjoyable.

Lala, Mikan, and Pekai stood nearby, completely captivated by the sight. The scene was stunning—like something from a dream.

Lala clapped in excitement, repeating, "So cool!" over and over, making Kaito even more excited.

He played with the mirror space as much as he could, showing off everything it could do.

The space shifted in countless dazzling ways, and beautiful images kept appearing until Kaito's magical energy was completely depleted—and then it stopped.

A shining gate opened in front of them, and the four stepped out, returning to the real world.

"Wow! That magic is amazing! I want to learn it too!" Lala raised her hand enthusiastically, utterly dazzled.

Kaito smiled and nodded. "Sure!"

But whether she could actually learn it was uncertain.

This type of magic was considered advanced even at Kamar-Taj. It required an extremely deep understanding of time and space.

Kaito was able to use it because of his unusually high affinity for space-time magic.

He could see the natural space-time portals that flowed through the world—something others couldn't perceive.

Whether Lala could learn it was unknown.

Still, if Lala wanted to learn from him, Kaito would absolutely teach her. He wouldn't hesitate to do so.

Mikan looked visibly excited as well.

What she had just seen inside the mirror dimension amazed her. The fantastic scene—the warping space, the blooming lights—was so breathtaking she had no words for it.

She hadn't yet recovered from the shock. It wasn't until she heard Lala say she wanted to learn that she came back to her senses.

Then a hint of envy appeared in her eyes—she wanted to learn too.

Who wouldn't?

"Mikan, do you want to learn too?" Lala asked with a smile.

Mikan froze for a moment. Of course she wanted to.

It was clear that the magic was extremely valuable.

Lala could learn it because of her special relationship with Kaito.

Mikan didn't think she was in a position to ask, so she shook her head and said,

"Lala-san, you go ahead and learn it."

"Really?" Lala didn't catch the hesitation in Mikan's voice and just smiled and nodded.
