Oops, I Accidentally Ascended to Godhood

Chapter 55: Return to Tharn

Appearing at the manor, Tarkan stood still, glancing around the familiar area.

"Fuuu... at long last."

He let out a deep breath, one he hadn't realized he'd been holding.

Relief washed over him like a soft tide. The sight of this place, this environment, he didn't even know how much he had missed it until now.

A strange sense of comfort rose in him, one that made his chest feel lighter.

After a while of reminiscing, he left the manor, It wasn't long before he stood in front of a massive, gigantic mansion.

It stretched out before him like a monument, large enough to house a noble's entire bloodline.

Standing and staring at the place for a while, Tarkan glanced at his bracelet.

"This shouldn't be right," he muttered, his gaze switching from the bracelet to the mansion.

He wasn't shocked by how beautiful the building was, after all, he was the one who had personally given the design and the instructions for the renovation.

But standing here now, seeing it in person, something about the sight was overwhelming.

Even for him, it felt like a lot.

He walked in, slowly.

The large entrance opened into a grand hall with ceilings that stretched far above his head. he couldn't help but be marveled by the design. CatchtheformattedversionatM|V|LEM_PYR.

The saleswoman had truly outdone herself.

Tarkan praised her silently in his mind.

"Welcome, Master."

"Tarkan!!!"

Bringing him out of his inspection and thoughts, two voices called his name. One was calm and collected, and the other was over the top. Funny enough, he recognized both voices.

The first was Slim's, while the other was the oh-so-familiar Ricky.

"Slim. Ricky." Tarkan wasn't a bit surprised seeing Ricky. Slim had told him about their adventure when they were together, and Ricky seemed to be a native of this world, so Tarkan wasn't surprised seeing him here.

"Damn, Tarkan, you really outdid yourself!" Ricky yelled as he ran forward. "Just a few days ago you were scraping together coin just to pay gate fees into the city. Now look at you, living in a fat mansion in the most sought-after area of Tharn!"

He grabbed Tarkan's hand and started shaking it wildly, laughing as he spoke, his voice echoing through the grand hallway.

"Good to see you, Ricky," Tarkan said, walking away from Ricky as he removed the hands Ricky had wrapped around him and shook him off.

"Tch. Boring as ever," Ricky couldn't help but mutter in a low voice.

"'Good to see you, Ricky,'" he mimicked the way Tarkan said it in a very low voice and rolled his eyes. But just as he was about to find a place to sit, he felt a gaze on him. When he turned, he realized Tarkan and Slim had seen him making an ugly face and mimicking Tarkan.

With an awkward chuckle, Ricky scratched the back of his head, forcing a sheepish grin.

"Erm... my hand is hungry. Bye!!" Ricky made a clumsy excuse and left the scene.

Tarkan couldn't help but shake his head. He couldn't fathom being together with Ricky for a whole day. Tarkan didn't know how Slim was able to pull it off.

"Master... Tarkan," Slim said, remembering Tarkan's order to just call him by his name.

Tarkan wasn't angry or offended by it. He knew it would take time for Slim to be completely free with him. It was hard for someone like Slim, who had been ingrained with such things, to change in a day.

"The 200,000 gold coins given to the saleslady, 65,000 gold coins was what was used to renovate the building, and the balance has already been deposited in your account," Slim added.

Tarkan, who was curious about what Slim was going to tell him, was flabbergasted.

He turned frantically, seeing the fine furniture, the paint, the design, and the decorations.

"You mean... all this cost only 65,000 gold?" Tarkan couldn't help the disbelief in his voice.

"I was surprised too when I heard it," Slim added.

What both of them didn't know was that in this world, Tharn, which was named the City of Commerce, was considered the number one high-cost city by the locals. And even in Tharn, 65,000 gold was seen as generational wealth.

After hearing that, Tarkan reinspected. And to his surprise, everything was high quality. Even the paintings were all good quality. Even though he had never been to any other place, he just knew deep down that everything in Tharn was just too dirt cheap.

After a long while of inspection, Tarkan sat down on the sofa.

Ricky was already sitting down with a small table set in front of him. Different varieties of food filled it. He was busy eating with his cheeks swollen, piling food in his mouth in a hurry, not the least bit concerned with any manners, his mouth all oily.

Seeing Tarkan and Slim looking at him, he turned toward them and made a gesture for them to join him to eat, to which they both declined, shaking their heads.

Shrugging his shoulders without a care, he focused back on the food.

Tarkan, shaking his head, poured a cup of drink for himself and took a sip.

"When did you come out of the dimension?" Takan suddenly asked Slim.

"A day ago," Slim answered.

Tarkan was surprised. That meant Slim had stayed out here for a full day. In the dimension, time passed at a 3:1 ratio. So that meant Slim had wasted three whole days just waiting for him instead of farming prime points.

"You should've gone back," Tarkan said with a frown. "That's precious time wasted. You could've used that time to increase your prime points."

"We had already maxed out all three of our prime points," Slim said, looking at Tarkan weirdly.

Pooorrr..

Tarkan, who was busy sipping his drink, couldn't help but spray it out of his mouth.

"We?" he repeated loudly, cleaning his mouth with the back of his hand. "What do you mean, we?"

"Yes. Me and Ricky over there," Slim said with no change in expression.

Ricky, with his stuffed mouth, waved at Tarkan as if to show him that he was the "Ricky" being talked about.

"You're trying to tell me you maxed out all your prime points three days ago in the dimension?"

"Technically, two days ago," Slim corrected. "We stayed the third day to sell off some items."

Tarkan was frozen in shock.

He'd thought he had been very fast in passing the first dimension, only to find out he was outpaced. Not by a day or two... but four freaking days.

Slim added, casually, "We could've done it even sooner if not for a certain someone..."

His blank stare turned slowly to Tarkan, not even trying to hide the jab.

Ricky, none the wiser, was just focused on the food in front of him, gobbling it down without a care in the world.

Tarkan couldn't believe it.

"Did Slim just rub it in my face?" he thought as his face immediately turned ugly.

"Slim, if you're a real man, say what you want to say to my face," Tarkan said. But anyone who saw him would know, he wasn't really angry.

"You misunderstood me, Master Tarkan. I was trying to say, if not because you were busy taking care of me, you would have maxed out much sooner," Slim said, his expression still the same.

"Don't mention it," Tarkan said, rubbing his nose. He knew Slim was lying. But Tarkan decided to save his own face.

He vowed in his heart to get back at him.
