Chapter 51: Fury
The girl was staring at the position Tarkan had been sitting on, murder in her eyes.
Tarkan, who was frustrated by the reduction in his timer, jumped down from the tree, his mood sour.
"Don't even try to run. I assure you, you wouldn't be able to leave here in one piece," the girl said, pointing her sword directly at Tarkan's position.
Tarkan raised his brow, his eyes looking at her as if she was a moron.
"As much as I would like to chat with you," Tarkan said in an unbothered tone, his mood already foul from losing so much timer and gaining nothing in return.
When he had comprehended the Cassian's talent, he wasn't in the best state to calculate how much timer he'd consumed to comprehend his A-rank talent.
All he cared about at that moment was finding a way to survive the ordeal.
The girl stared at Tarkan in a battle-ready stance. She could only see his eyes behind the mask, eyes that stared at her as if she was a clown, which greatly infuriated her.
And just as suddenly, he disappeared from her sight.
She began turning around, searching for him frantically.
"I'm not in the best of moods right now," Tarkan's voice whispered in her ear, but before she could react, he knocked her unconscious.

Looking at her unconscious, beautiful face and her closed eyes, Tarkan couldn't help feeling mesmerized by her beauty up close.
He stared for a moment longer, then let out a sigh and shrugged. Tossing her aside in his mind, a strange burst of happiness rising in his chest as his eyes landed on the corpses.
He went back and forth, dragging the creature's corpse to where he was camping. As he returned to pick up the last one, his eyes landed on the unconscious girl. A sudden thought stuck with him, not to leave her there.
Tarkan had no qualms about leaving her. She was beautiful, yes. He was mesmerized by her beauty, yes. But that was all there was to it.
The only thing bothering him now was whether leaving her there would affect his luck in any way.
It may sound paranoid, but he'd be lying if he said his transmigration into this world didn't bother him.
Sometimes, he imagined whether his old body was dead or being occupied by some weird being. But he wasn't looking to go back. He liked this world.
Looking at the unconscious girl for a while...
"Aahh..."
He knew he would regret it, but he couldn't risk it. Please read this chapter on its original platform—M|V|L1EMPYR.
Picking up the girl, Tarkan flung her on his shoulders like a sack of rice and dragged the creature's corpse to his camp which was nearby.

Upon reaching the camp, Tarkan dropped her, found a good rope, and tied her to a nearby tree, checking to see that she was well-bound.
Tarkan immediately made a fire, set one of the corpses, and began roasting.
"I knew I was forgetting something," Tarkan lightly hit his head as he muttered.
He had forgotten to buy seasoning, but decided to keep it in mind for the next time he was out.
After a while of roasting, Tarkan cut a piece of the meat. As he munched it, he couldn't quite put his finger on it, but the meat tasted much sweeter. His eyes couldn't help glancing at the unconscious, well-tied-up girl.
"Probably because I didn't work for it," Tarkan couldn't help saying to himself, the meat tasting much sweeter as he continued munching.

A happy humming could be heard. Tarkan sat roasting a fish-like creature over the fire, turning it from side to side, enjoying the rhythm.
"Uh..."
A small sound made him stop humming.
His eyes turned immediately to the girl. She had killed four Crowned tiered creatures alone, and since the day he knocked her unconscious, today marked the seventh day she'd been out cold.
Tarkan had tried sprinkling water on her face, even lightly nudging her, but nothing worked. She had remained in a deep, almost unnatural sleep.
He checked on her occasionally, in between his hunts to increase his Prime Points, which had gone smoothly.
There were moments he nearly found himself in deep trouble, but thanks to the new C-rank talent he had comprehended from Godspeed, he managed to escape unscathed.
Even with its limitations, the talent was impressive. If he had to grade it himself, he'd give it a solid B, maybe even an A.
Doubling one's speed, even for a second, was insanely overpowered.
And with Revert, he could cheat the cooldown by reversing his body state to just before he activated the skill, refreshing its effect.
A sly combo, which was very efficient.
The girl's eyes slowly opened.
And the first thing she saw, those hateful, icy-blue eyes staring at her.
Instantly, the rage returned. Without a second thought, she tried to leap at him, but that's when she realized, she was tied.
Her body tensed as she struggled against the rope.
"Who sent you?! Whatever they're paying, I'll double it. Release me at once!" the girl shouted at Tarkan.
Tarkan, seeing she was finally awake, let out a small sigh of relief. At least she had survived.
If she had passed out during battle, he wouldn't have cared. He would've simply walked in and picked the corpses clean without a second glance. But he was the one who knocked her out, and had put her in this position.
Sigh
"What a headache..." he muttered under his breath, eyes returning to the meat he was roasting.
If she hadn't woken up before he maxed out his Prime Points and was ready to leave for the second dimension, he already had a place in mind to drop her off.
The girl, meanwhile, stared daggers into his back. The way Tarkan looked at her, as if she was nothing but a minor inconvenience, and how he turned his head and casually went back to roasting, as if she didn't exist...
It infuriated her even more.
"You punk! If you don't release me, you'll regret it! I warn you, you don't know who you're messing with! Do you even.."
"Should I just tie her mouth...?" Tarkan muttered to himself, eyes still focused on the meat he was roasting.
The girl heard it, and froze mid sentence.
That did the trick.
Tarkan smirked to himself. Silence, Finally.
A few quiet moments passed with no one saying a thing.
"What is your name?" Tarkan asked, breaking the silence.
The girl, who had been quietly fuming, suddenly stopped struggling.
"And why should I tell you that?" she snapped, her expression twisted in annoyance.
Tarkan let out another sigh. This really was a headache.
She watched as he completely ignored her again, casually tending to the roasting meat like she wasn't even there.
"...Ana. That's my name," she said at last, breaking the silence.
"Hmm."
Tarkan turned to glance at her for a second. It was obvious she was lying. But he didn't care.
"This is how it is, Ana," he said flatly. "Stay silent for a couple of minutes. After I'm done roasting my meat, I'll set you free."
The girl gritted her teeth but stayed quiet.
A few minutes passed before she spoke again.
"What's your name?" she asked, watching his back as he continued roasting the meat.
"In as much as I'm flattered," Tarkan replied, voice cool and casual as ever, "you're too flat for my type."
He reached down and cut another piece from the roasted meat.
