Oops, I Accidentally Ascended to Godhood

Chapter 47: Or else?

Tch

"And he said I was cocky for my own good. Godspeed, my foot," Tarkan muttered, his expression bitter. His opponent, Godspeed, lay sprawled on the stage floor, foam dripping from his mouth, unconscious.

Tarkan stood with an angry expression, staring down at Godspeed's body. But his eyes weren't really focused on him.

He had copied Godspeed's talent, expecting to see an A-rank ability at the very least. But after using his Eyes of Comprehension and Timer on him, what he got was a C-rank talent.

Something he wasn't expecting from someone literally nicknamed "Godspeed."

Even though a C-rank talent was supposed to be more than he could handle, ever since he awakened the SSS-rank talent, Tarkan had a feeling. A strange one. His talent had no limits, but his energy did. He wasn't capable of fully comprehending anything above an E-rank in a single day. This translation is powered by the readers at M|V|LE9MPYR.

He was only meant to unlock his talent's full potential as he ascended through the Prime Ascension Realm.

But thanks to his cheat skill Timer, he was able to bypass that limit, going as far as comprehending even an A-rank talent.

One he shortly lost… due to the same Timer.

Sigh

Staring at the unconscious Godspeed, Tarkan knew the only reason he defeated him was because the man never took him seriously, he underestimated him from the start.

Godspeed had probably maxed out his Prime Points. Even after Tarkan copied his talent, he was still faster.

Tarkan was 100% sure he wasn't going to win if he had no cheat.

But he was wrong.

Not because he was stronger, but because Godspeed had nerfed himself. He already believed Tarkan was a lamb waiting to be slaughtered and didn't care for anything else.

Shaking his head, Tarkan couldn't help but feel a little pity for the unconscious man.

Bringing him down wasn't nearly as casual as it looked. Tarkan had used Reverse more than seven times just to pinpoint the exact timing, to grab Godspeed by the neck and smash him into the ground.

Only then had he fallen unconscious.

Tarkan took a step forward under the eyes of shocked spectators, and the event MC, whose jaw hung open, frozen in disbelief.

"What… Is this a joke?" someone from the crowd finally blurted.

It was like a chain reaction. The crowd came back to life.

"How did that kid beat Godspeed?!"

"I'll be damned…"

"This is a scam! The organizers set us up to lose our money!"

"What a farce!"

"If y'all were looking for good actors, I could recommend my niece!"

"Give us our money back, you thieves!"

Unable to process Godspeed's defeat, the audience reached the only conclusion their pride could accept, fraud. They hurled insults, shouted from every direction, demanding a refund.

Tarkan remained unbothered.

He raised his foot, aiming it at Godspeed's neck, ready to end it and take his 1 million gold prize. After all, he still had to return to the dimension and ascend. He had plans, he was going to max out his Prime Points.

But..

"Stop! Or else…!!"

Tarkan felt a wave of energy sweep past him and disappear just as fast.

He turned his head. A casually dressed man stared at him from the VIP stand, face twisted into an ugly expression.

"Or else?" Tarkan repeated calmly, eyes locked on the man. His foot inched lower toward Godspeed's throat.

Suddenly, that same strange energy tugged at the space again, then pulled back.

"I think we started off on the wrong foot. My name is Sam Richardson," the man said. His tone and expression did a complete 180.

Tarkan was about to reply when gasps echoed around him.

He hadn't noticed before, but the entire arena had gone silent.

Everyone in the audience looked frozen. Some were gasping for air, Some were sweating, A few had outright fainted. All of them wore horrified expressions. Not a single soul dared to speak.

The stadium was suffocatingly silent.

Tarkan's gaze landed on the MC, now lying face-down on the ground, out cold.

Scanning the surroundings, he couldn't help but wonder what was causing everyone to act so strangely… but he decided to ignore it.

"Tarkan," he finally answered, his attention back on the man. His voice was calm, his expression unaffected.

"Nice to meet you, Sir Tarkan. If you don't mind, what's your surname?" Sam asked, still smiling awkwardly.

Tarkan said nothing.

"You interrupted me earlier to say 'don't kill this man, or else,' and I asked, 'or else what?' You're wasting my time. Just get to the point," Tarkan said. His foot now rested firmly on Godspeed's neck, clearly not intending to show Sam any face.

"Erm… Mister Tarkan, I'm sorry for my rude behavior earlier," Sam said, still smiling. "I wanted to ask… could you please let that contestant go? I would be immensely grateful."

"And how is your gratitude of any help to me?" Tarkan asked, raising a brow.

"I… I would owe you a favor," Sam said, maintaining his smile.

Tarkan looked thoughtful.

"Is your favor worth five million gold?" he asked, foot still on Godspeed's throat.

Sam didn't hesitate. "It's worth more than five million gold coins."

"Hmm… Five million will do. Just give that to me, and he's all yours," Tarkan said casually, as if he were selling groceries.

Sam's smile didn't falter. "Fair enough, Mister Tarkan. Five million gold it is. And as an apology, I'll still owe you a favor."

"Nah.. If you can double the money instead of the favor, we're good," Tarkan replied, still not giving the man any face.

The corner of Sam's mouth twitched.
