Only I Walk Alone

Chapter 92 - Creativity

To gain the support of the highest gods and silence her skeptics, Azhen chose to present her method for calculating Unified Field Theory in a virtual world.

In the virtual world, Azhen explained, “As everyone knows, the goal of Unified Field Theory is to find a connection among the four fundamental forces of nature. But despite our long efforts and even with the aid of the gods’ artifacts, we’ve been unable to find the answer. This suggests that our starting point is wrong!”

Azhen, an ordinary-looking female scientist with eyes that sparkled with intelligence, boldly stated, “I began to wonder, why are there only four fundamental forces in the world? Why can’t there be a fifth force?”

Hearing this, some senior scientists scoffed. One dismissively said, “You dare to speak out without understanding even this? The world has four fundamental forces because they are sufficient to explain all natural phenomena. Why fabricate a fifth fundamental force?”

Azhen seemed to anticipate this question and continued, “The universe began with a big bang, but what caused it?”

She created a calm body of water in the virtual world, then gently touched the surface with her finger, causing ripples to spread.

“If, at the moment I touched the water, a universe was born, manifesting the four fundamental forces to sustain itself, it’s because I applied a force to this universe. And the moment my finger left the surface, the source of that force disappeared.”

While this might have been unclear to laypeople, most scientists understood what Azhen was getting at.

“I’m referring to the initial force that caused the big bang as the fifth force, which I call the ‘Explosive Force.’ It only initiated the birth of the universe and then ceased to act upon it. However, like the waves on the water, it still had an effect,” Azhen explained.

Azhen’s explanation made it clear to most people, “If we assume the ‘Explosive Force’ exists, it was present only a moment before the universe’s big bang. Then, as the universe began to form, the four fundamental forces appeared, all because of the ‘Explosive Force.’ Although we can’t find this fifth force in the universe, the four fundamental forces are intimately related to it. This is why we’ve been unable to develop a Unified Field Theory.”

Azhen clarified that focusing solely on the four fundamental forces but failing to incorporate data accurately into a formula was due to the oversight of the fifth force.

It’s like solving the equation aX+bY+cZ+dW=? while overlooking an eT variable, naturally making it impossible to clarify the relationships among the variables.

The audience understood, but scientists began to question, “How can you measure a force that existed before the big bang? We can’t return to that moment, so doesn’t that mean the fifth force—and thus the Unified Field Theory—cannot be studied?”

Azhen suggested that this would require the artifact of the highest gods. Only by using that artifact could the fifth force be created in a virtual world and then integrated into the formula for further study.

Thus, using one of the four fundamental forces to derive the ‘Explosive Force,’ and then from the ‘Explosive Force’ derive the others.

The young female scientist’s audacity was undeniable. Her proposal of a fifth force, previously unthought of by others, demonstrated her boundless imagination. However, naming it the ‘Explosive Force’ seemed too simplistic for a force that facilitated the universe’s creation. It would be more aptly called ‘Creativity,’ the force behind all creation.

Wu Ge found her idea intriguing and decided to experiment with the artifact, now understanding this force. Thus, he planned to use the artifact, a ring capable of inverting reality and illusion, to create ‘Creativity.’

However, to ensure the experiment’s rigor and to collect sufficient data, it will be conducted in an absolutely secure laboratory, with over a hundred scientists responsible for data collection.

This is a very serious, very meticulous, and very cautious experiment. No one knows what will happen, and no one is certain if Ah Zhen’s hypothesis is correct.

But they had all waited too long. Everyone hoped the unified field theory would be clarified soon. They couldn’t endure this torment any longer.

The experiment began. Wu Ge first used the Void Spirit Ring to unfold the illusory realm. In this realm, everything about a person was reversed inside out. Their outward appearance was covered by their inner self, and at this moment, what appeared in this space was everyone’s inner world.

Wu Ge’s inner world was the largest and also the simplest—it was a vast, pitch-black night sky, empty, with nothing in it except for numerous small, colorful worlds at the edges.

This was Wu Ge’s inner world, an eternally calm, lonely, and boundless space.

In this world, there was nothing, making it the most suitable place for experiments.

No one hurried Wu Ge. The scientists watched everything nervously. In their respective inner worlds, they set up various instruments to collect the necessary data.

The experiment began. Wu Ge closed his eyes and first imagined the power, the kind of force that could create the heavens and earth and bring forth a world.

In this reversed inner world, as long as Wu Ge had the concept of this power in his mind, he could create such a power. Similarly, he could also create the other four fundamental forces.

However, anything Wu Ge created in this illusory realm couldn’t be brought into the real world, as the virtual and the real are different.

But although nothing could be brought outside, the data observed during the experiment could be, and that was the basis of this experiment.

Wu Ge began. In his mind, he conceived of that world-creating power. Then, an almost imperceptible white dot suddenly appeared in the pitch-black night sky.

The white dot flickered for a moment, then suddenly exploded. Space-time ripples instantly emanated, and endless dust spread out. A virtual universe about the size of a soccer ball… was born!
