Chapter 16: Chapter 15
Half a day later.
In the cabin of the George Chef.
"Mr. Zeff, your cooking skills are amazing!" Leon wiped the oil stains from the corners of his mouth, savoring the aftertaste. The table in front of him was piled with large and small bowls.
Faced with a feast, Leon devoured the food like a hungry wolf, consuming it at an astonishing speed.
More importantly, even the usually cold Uchiha Madara was immersed in the delicious food, a testament to Zeff's extraordinary cooking skills.
"Are these two guys reincarnated evil spirits?!" The crew of the Chef Pirates exchanged uneasy glances, watching in awe as the mountain of bowls grew larger. Leon and Madara's appetite was terrifying, nearly consuming half of their food reserves.
"You are definitely the man who will open a restaurant in the East Blue someday." After a satisfied burp, Leon once again praised Zeff's culinary prowess.
"Mr. Zeff…" Leon's tone shifted as he continued, "I heard you're in trouble?"
"Leon, to be honest, if we had met later, I wouldn't have been able to cook for you," Zeff said with a bitter smile.
"Why?" Leon raised an eyebrow.
"Not long ago, we were surrounded by the Iron Hand Pirates, and we still haven't shaken off their pursuit," Zeff recalled, his expression darkening.
"Iron Hand Pirates?" Leon frowned, clearly unfamiliar with them.
"In truth, the Iron Hand Pirates aren't that strong. It's just that they prey on weaker targets, like us," Zeff explained. Despite his superb leg techniques, Zeff's crew was not particularly strong in combat, making it hard for him to fend for himself.
"Just a small pirate group, huh? No wonder I didn't know them." Leon nodded, understanding the situation. There were countless pirates on the Grand Line, but only a few managed to make an impression on him.
"Here's what I'll do," Leon continued, his words lighting a spark of hope in Zeff's eyes. "As a reward for this delicious meal, I'll take care of your problem."
"What?!" Zeff and his crew were stunned, struggling to process what they had just heard. Meeting Leon and Madara had already been a stroke of luck, but now this?
"Of course, you're our friend," Leon said, smiling as he patted Zeff's shoulder. "It's only natural for us to help."
"But…" Zeff was about to protest but stopped himself. It would be foolish to turn down such help.
"If you two step in, the Iron Hand Pirates are finished," Zeff muttered, his relief palpable. He exhaled deeply, grateful for Leon's offer.
"Thank you so much! I'll toast you!" Zeff raised his glass.
"Cheers!" Leon raised his glass in response.
Clink!
The sound of glasses colliding marked the beginning of a rare and unlikely friendship.
Soon after.
Grand Line, Gabul Sea.
"Captain, the Chef Pirates seem to be wandering in the nearby sea," a pirate holding a telescope reported respectfully.
At the end of his view was a tall, burly figure.
It was a man with a stubbled face, wearing an iron glove on his left hand and a conspicuous tattoo on his chest.
Captain of the Iron Hand Pirates.
Bounty: 75 million Baileys.
Iron Hand Black!
"Red-footed Zeff, that fool refuses to surrender. He really doesn't know what's good for him!" Iron Hand Black stood at the edge of the deck, grinning cruelly.
"He must be punished for his ingratitude!" His subordinates echoed, fanning the flames.
"Anyone who refuses my invitation will regret it," Iron Hand Black growled, his iron glove glinting ominously, fueled by his rage.
On the other side, aboard the Iron Hand Pirates' ship.
"I hope we find the Chef Pirates soon and finish them off!" A pirate murmured, raising his telescope.
Just as he was about to lower it, two ships appeared in his sight.
"Wait… Is that the George Chef?"
Before the smile could even form on his face, the pirate's expression changed in an instant, terror replacing his cocky demeanor. He stumbled back, sitting down in panic.
"Mosk, are you scared by Red-footed Zeff? You coward!" His companions laughed.
"No, it's not just Red-footed Zeff…" The pirate curled up in fear, his voice trembling. "Leon and Uchiha Madara are there too!"
"What?!"
The deck erupted in chaos.
"Are you seeing things? How could those two monsters suddenly show up?!" Another pirate grabbed the telescope, his face turning pale.
"It's really them!" he stammered, his voice weak.
The sight of Leon and Madara—two pirates with bounties exceeding 100 million—instantly shook the crew. To the Iron Hand Pirates, they were powerful and invincible.
"Quick, notify the captain immediately!!!"
Panic spread as they scrambled, but it was too late.
Just as the Iron Hand Pirates were reacting in fear, Leon spotted them and swiftly steered the three-masted sailing ship toward them.
Iron Hand Pirates couldn't escape, even if they had wings.
"Hello, Iron Hand Pirates," Leon called out, his voice carrying easily across the sea as the George Chef approached. "I heard you've been causing trouble for my friend?"
"Damn it!" The Iron Hand Pirates reacted instantly, taking defensive stances as if facing a great enemy.
"So Zeff's been chased by a bunch of you scum, huh?" Leon smiled, watching their panicked faces with amusement. "It's such a waste of his cooking talent."
"As his friend…" Leon's voice turned colder. "I'll make sure to repay you—double!"
Leon swiftly gathered his hands together, and an intense pressure spread across the air.
"Wood Release"
