Chapter 246: 246: When Heaven Collapses and Earth Shatters

The clash between the Phoenix, Marco, and Ace against Akainu raged on. Though they were clearly at a disadvantage, the duo managed—just barely—to hold their own.

On another front, Sabo, now empowered by the Glint-Glint Fruit, fought alongside Bartholomew Kuma against Fleet Admiral Sengoku. Thanks to Kuma's paw-paw abilities that could absorb shockwaves, they were steadily gaining the upper hand.

Boa Hancock and Kuina were locked in combat against Fujitora.

CP0's top commander, Zero, exchanged fierce blows with Dragon.

Meanwhile, Aokiji and Kong fought the monstrous, dragon-transformed Kaido.

The battlefield was absolute chaos—skies thundered, the ground trembled.

The once majestic, ancient architecture of the Holy Land Mary Geoise crumbled under the weight of this epic war.

Even the Red Line itself—known for its unnaturally durable, iron-like rock—began to fracture under the might of these titanic forces. Cracks spiderwebbed outward in all directions.

The war had reached a fever pitch.

Kaido, in his dragon form, unleashed a bolt of lightning from his gaping maw, obliterating a column of ice launched by Aokiji. But before he could revel in his power, a devastating punch from Kong crashed down on his massive body.

Kaido took the full brunt of Kong's punch. Pain surged through his colossal form, but instead of retreating, the madness in his draconic eyes only intensified.

"Hahaha! Now this is the kind of war I live for!"

"War is the ultimate thrill!"

All around them, Marine officers and strategists like Vice Admiral Tsuru watched in grim silence.

Kaido, with a roar, released a sweeping wind blade that flung Kong backward. His immense body spiraled through the air like a celestial serpent, whipping up cyclones in his wake.

"One of the Four Emperors, Kaido… what a troublesome monster," murmured the Five Elder with the curled mustache, his cold eyes locked on the skyborne beast.

"Seems like Kong's not as young as he used to be," the long-bearded Elder added, stroking his chin.

"Good thing only one of the Four Emperors joined the fray," noted the blonde Elder. "Any more, and we'd be in serious trouble."

But as soon as those words left his mouth, his expression froze.

The other four Elders turned sharply toward the heavens, faces hardening.

"There's more? Another force entering the battlefield?!"

Their suspicions were confirmed an instant later.

From the sky, a monstrous slash—wreathed in overwhelming Haki—descended like divine judgment. Akainu's eyes widened just before the attack struck, slicing straight down and driving him deep into the ground with a thunderous crash.

Then, from above, a compressed air cannon came barreling toward CP0's commander, Zero, who was still locked in battle with Dragon. Dragon didn't waste the opportunity.

"Thunder Dragon's… ROAR!"

With a claw infused with crackling lightning and raw Conqueror's Haki, Dragon struck. Zero was slammed into the ground with earth-shattering force, a deep crater ripping open beneath him.

Inside the impact crater, Zero's once pristine white mask lay shattered, revealing the bloodied face of a middle-aged man. Blood trickled from the corners of his mouth, and his breathing was faint—though he'd activated Tekkai at the last second, it wasn't enough. His internal organs had been ravaged by the combined force of the two consecutive attacks.

Now, he activated the advanced form of Life Return, tapping into his very life force in a desperate attempt to repair the damage.

But he needed time.

And time was not on his side.

Then—two new figures strode onto the battlefield.

The moment they appeared, shockwaves rippled through every corner of the warzone.

"Is that… the former Black Arm Admiral?!"

"And the Dark King, Rayleigh!"

Even high-ranking Marine officers, including Aokiji, were visibly shaken.

"Zephyr… sensei…"

"No way… This has to be a joke…"

The sheer disbelief sent tremors through Sengoku's heart. With a roar of fury, he forced Sabo back with a golden shockwave and turned to confront the new arrivals.

"Zephyr! You were a Marine Admiral! How dare you stand with pirates against the World Government?!"

Zephyr met his furious gaze with nothing but a cold sneer.

"Sengoku… you haven't changed at all."

"You…!" Sengoku's eyes blazed as he clenched his fists, teeth grinding with rage.

Standing amidst the wreckage of Mary Geoise, Rayleigh—draped in a grey cloak and adjusting his round spectacles—gripped the hilt of his longsword.

His eyes turned to Pangaea Castle in the distance.

"What Roger failed to finish… I'll finish in his stead."

Rayleigh raised his sword and slashed through the air from a distance.

A colossal sword slash, shaped like a crescent moon and wrapped in powerful Armament Haki, surged forward with overwhelming momentum—heading straight for Pangaea Castle.

"Impudent!"

A furious roar echoed from within the castle.

The next moment—

A fierce slash, laced with a thick, ominous ghostly aura, shot up into the sky from inside the fortress.

The two tremendous strikes collided.

In that instant—

Swordlight dazzled the heavens.

The sky itself split in two, torn by a jagged crack that stretched across the clouds.

Atop Pangaea Castle, the bald Elder clad in traditional robes stood, gripping the Shodai Kitetsu. His gaze was ice-cold as it locked onto Rayleigh.

"Rayleigh... do you understand the consequences of involving yourself in something like this?"

"Consequences?" Rayleigh laughed heartily. "I'm just an old man made of bones now. What consequences could possibly scare me?"

"…Is that so."

The bald Elder's expression turned grim. Shodai Kitetsu, coiled in an eerie black aura, radiated an aura of decay and death so intense that it blanketed all of Mary Geoise in an oppressive darkness, sending a chill into the hearts of everyone present.

Kuina's expression turned solemn.

As a swordswoman who had stepped into the realm of the Grandmaster Swordsman, she could feel the terrifying sword aura radiating from this man.

It was on par with Mihawk.

And then—two more Elders appeared beside the bald one.

The blonde Elder and the one with the hooked mustache.

Standing atop the great Pangaea Castle, the three Elders now stood shoulder to shoulder.

Kaido, in his dragon form, narrowed his eyes as he gazed up at them.

"So they finally show themselves… the Five Elders."

As Kong watched with grim intensity, Kaido's massive draconic form began to shrink.

He transformed—into his strongest hybrid form.

Ten meters tall, his entire body covered in scales, fingers ending in claws, a massive kanabo resting on his shoulder—muscles bulging, presence overwhelming. He was a beast in both man and dragon form, radiating raw power that made even the bravest tremble.

Grinning like a madman, Kaido raised his head to face the Five Elders.

"Those who sit at the summit of this world's power… if you've got the guts, come and kill me!"

He stomped down hard.

The earth exploded beneath his feet as his towering frame soared into the sky, aiming directly for the three Elders atop Pangaea Castle.

Kong flashed forward to intercept him, his right fist cloaked in Armament Haki, launching a powerful punch.

Kaido swung his kanabo in a wide arc.

BOOM!!

The two collided in a deafening clash of Haki.

Blood-red lightning crackled through the sky.

"Get outta my way!"

Kaido's eyes burned blood-red with madness.

Power surged through the kanabo in his grip—doubling, then tripling.

"What?!"

Kong's expression changed drastically.

And in the next instant, he was sent flying—slammed through building after building, his figure eventually swallowed by the wreckage.

With Kong gone, Kaido reached the Elders.

He brought his kanabo crashing down upon them, infused with immense brute strength, Haki, and crackling lightning.

"Thunder... Bagua!!"

The bald Elder raised his sword and struck.

The blonde Elder hurled a devastating punch.

The hooked-mustache Elder raised his palm—where strands of glowing light twisted, bent, and warped space itself.

Kaido's Thunder Bagua collided with their combined might.

The entire Red Line shook.

Reality around them twisted and warped under the impact of their overwhelming powers. Space cracked—shredded into slashes of black energy that could slice through anything.

Pangaea Castle, the symbol of celestial authority—

Began to collapse under the might of their clash.

"Let's move too," Rayleigh said as he raised his sword and charged straight toward the Five Elders.

Zephyr followed right behind him.

From the cracked ground, Akainu surged upward in a torrent of molten magma. Reforming into his human shape, his expression was thunderous.

"That old man... I never thought he'd betray justice like this!"

"As expected, they all deserve to die!"

Half his body was still lava, and both of his fists transformed into colossal magma arms. With a ferocious roar, he launched them into the sky. The destructive magma fists rained down like meteorites, blanketing the entire battlefield.

"Meteor Volcano!"

Marco the Phoenix, Ace, Boa Hancock, and Kuina swiftly dodged through the sky. Yet despite their agility, the ground below was swallowed by a surging ocean of lava, melting everything it touched.

Akainu, wielding the destructive force of a natural disaster, stood amid the inferno. His grim face glowed in the firelight, his presence overwhelming—like a volcano in full eruption, ready to devour all in its path.

The temperature across all of Mary Geoise soared at a terrifying pace.

"Die!" Akainu snarled.

He launched another barrage, aiming this time directly at Marco, Ace, Hancock, and Kuina. With the lava beneath him feeding his strength, four massive magma fists hurtled toward the four, wrapped in blistering heat and searing flames.

Just then—

A slash of purple sword aura, rippling with gravitational waves, cut through the air and collided head-on with the incoming fists. All four magma punches were knocked off course, crashing down into the ground harmlessly.

Akainu's pupils shrank sharply.

The others stared in shock at the figure standing not far away—staff-blade in hand, the coat of justice draped over his shoulders.

"Admiral… Fujitora?"

"Impossible..."

"You've got to be kidding..."

Marco and the others were stunned, unable to comprehend what they were seeing.

Aokiji landed nearby, his shattered ice body already beginning to reform after Kaido's earlier blow. His gaze locked tightly onto Fujitora.

"Why?" he asked coldly.

Fujitora gripped his staff-blade in reverse. His pure white eyes stared into the chaos around him, calm and composed. "I'm a weak man. I can't bear to witness suffering… or evil," he said softly.

"That man once told me—'As long as the Celestial Dragons exist, this sea will never be free of misery and cruelty.' I joined the Marines and came here just to see for myself."

"And now… it seems he was right."

"I've lost that bet."

Facing both Akainu and Aokiji, Fujitora raised his blade toward the sky. Instantly, rings of purple gravitational energy burst upward.

High above, the heavens rumbled.

A meteor—massive, fiery, and roaring—broke through the clouds and came plummeting down toward the battlefield.

Aokiji's expression grew grim.

Akainu's face darkened even further, as if he were swallowing fire.

"One after another… you bastards think you can just do whatever you want?!"

He raised his magma-enflamed fist and threw it skyward.

The blazing fist smashed into the descending meteor—and then…

Silence.

Then, all at once, two forces of terrifying pressure exploded outward!

BOOM!!!

A wave of shock, heat, and wind blasted in every direction!

Molten rock and shattered island fragments rained down toward Mary Geoise in a hellish storm.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!

Massive chunks of flaming magma tore through the skies and crashed into the ancient castles of the Holy Land, destroying the heart of the World Government—a fortress that had stood for eight hundred years—without mercy.

The thunder of destruction echoed endlessly.

Buildings and towers collapsed one after another.

To the terrified Celestial Dragons, it was as if the sky itself was crumbling down.

It was the kind of catastrophe they had never experienced—not in eight centuries.

Boulders wreathed in magma crashed toward Vice Admiral Tsuru and the other Marines.

Aokiji reacted in time, raising a massive wall of ice that shielded them from the blazing debris raining from the sky.

"I never thought Fujitora would actually..." Sengoku, in his golden Buddha form, stood frozen as he watched the chaos of magma and meteors raining down. His expression was dark and heavy.

"Where do you think you're looking?"

Sabo suddenly appeared in front of Sengoku, having been teleported by Kuma in an instant. He unleashed a powerful Dragon's Breath, shrouded in Haki, directly onto Sengoku's golden body.

Sengoku was knocked back several steps.

With a sharp gleam in his eyes, Sengoku formed a golden energy orb in his massive palm—a shockwave compressed to its limit. He thrust it at Sabo.

Even before the attack landed, the sheer pressure around Sabo thickened the air, locking him in place as though he were sinking into quicksand.

"Ursus Shock."

Kuma appeared beside Sabo and fired a bear-shaped wave of energy with terrifying power.

The moment the two devastating forces collided—

It was like a nuclear blast had gone off.

BOOM!!!

A deafening roar tore through the air.

Within a hundred-meter radius, the air shattered like glass!

The ground caved in.

Cracks, vast and deep, spread out from the center of the square like a spider web, splitting Mary Geoise wide open.

Buildings near the plaza crumbled and fell into the massive fissures, vanishing into the abyss below.

"No—No!!"

Celestial Dragons and their slaves shrieked in terror as they plunged helplessly into the bottomless chasms.

The Holy Land of Mary Geoise—

Was collapsing from the heavens to the earth!
