Chapter 1: Chapter 1: The Crimson Hell
Year 1510 of the Sea Circle Calendar, Impel Down Prison – Crimson Hell.
"Hey, wake up. Get up and eat! Stop pretending to be dead!" A voice slowly echoed into Rikuya Kazama's mind.
The next second, he felt a heavy strike on his backside. Instantly, his entire body jolted awake.
"Damn it! If you're not dead, then hurry up and eat. You're up next!" A man in a white coat, green slacks, and a military cap was standing nearby, glaring at Rikuya viciously as he spoke.
"Where... is this?" Rikuya looked around the pitch-dark room, dazed and confused.
"Haha, kid, looks like you've already lost it from fear. Let me make this clear one more time. This is Level One of Impel Down, the Crimson Hell. This meal might just be your last, so eat up while you still can!" The man sneered and walked away.
A dull thud sounded as the door slammed shut, leaving Rikuya completely alone.
Just as he tried to get up and figure out what was happening, a surge of fragmented memories suddenly flooded into his mind.
"Agh!" A sharp pain struck his head, forcing a groan out of him. A moment later, the pain began to fade.
Flashes of images filled his mind one after another.
After a long while, Rikuya collapsed back onto the icy cold floor.
"No way... There's no way I really transmigrated. And to the One Piece world?!" he muttered again and again.
It was true. Rikuya had transmigrated. And not just into any ordinary world, but into the anime world of One Piece.
But unlike those typical novel tropes, he hadn't taken over the body of some powerful figure. Instead, he had ended up in the body of an average pirate.
Worse, that pirate had recently been captured by the Marines and thrown into the terrifying deep-sea prison known as Impel Down.
This prison held only the most dangerous criminals. It was filled with darkness and horror, patrolled by monstrous jailers and constantly monitored by visual Den Den Mushi.
Even worse, massive Sea Kings surrounded the underwater structure, earning the prison its fearsome reputation as an "iron fortress."
And once someone was locked inside, there was only one way to get out—by escaping.
Throughout history, only one man had ever succeeded: the legendary Golden Lion, Shiki.
"Damn it... It's bad enough I transmigrated into a loser pirate, but I don't even get a system?" Rikuya cursed under his breath.
But right as he finished speaking, a familiar voice really did appear.
Ding. Naruto Character Possession System interface successfully constructed. Congratulations, the system and its internal shop have been activated. You have received a beginner starter pack. Please open your inventory to claim it.
"It's here... It really showed up!" Rikuya shouted in excitement and immediately opened the so-called system in his mind.
A character interface appeared in his thoughts.
Host: Rikuya Kazama
Available Characters: None
Possession Uses: 0
Reputation Points: 0
What the hell? A Naruto Possession System?
Rikuya stared at the interface, utterly baffled.
Then he remembered the starter pack. With a thought, he opened the system inventory and activated the pack.
Ding. Starter Pack successfully opened. You have received a Naruto Character Card: Might Guy. You have also been granted 10 Character Possession Uses.
"Holy crap—Might Guy? Isn't he the strongest taijutsu user in Naruto? The one even Madara called the strongest man?"
His system panel updated.
Host: Rikuya Kazama
Available Character: Might Guy
Possession Uses: 10
Reputation Points: 0
Now he understood how the system worked. It allowed Naruto characters to possess his body.
While possessed, he would gain all of that character's skills, including ninjutsu and taijutsu.
However, possession required two things: a Naruto character card and a possession use. Without both, it wouldn't work.
But he still didn't know how to get more cards or possession time.
He recalled the system had a shop. He focused his thoughts and opened the interface.
In an instant, rows of Naruto character cards appeared in his mind.
Sage of Six Paths (Character Card) – 10,000,000 Reputation
Sage Mode Naruto Uzumaki (Character Card) – 1,000,000 Reputation
Madara Uchiha (Character Card) – 800,000 Reputation
Hashirama Senju (Character Card) – 500,000 Reputation
Itachi Uchiha (Character Card) – 100,000 Reputation
Possession Use – 1 hour – 1,000 Reputation
Nearly all of the strongest characters from Naruto were listed, and their required reputation points varied.
The most expensive was the Sage of Six Paths, costing ten million reputation points.
Even a single possession use cost a thousand.
Looking again at his reputation bar—still at a glaring zero—Rikuya let out a bitter chuckle.
Then he noticed a line of text at the bottom of the shop interface. Reputation can be earned by defeating enemies. The stronger the opponent, the more reputation you will gain.
Now everything made sense.
To earn reputation, he had to fight—and win.
Until then, he had only ten uses of Might Guy, and each use only lasted for one hour.
Once the time was up, he'd return to being a powerless man.
Fortunately, Might Guy's strength was overwhelming. Especially with the Eight Gates technique, which was nearly unstoppable. As long as he didn't face a Yonko or a Marine Admiral, Rikuya was confident he could win any battle within an hour.
