Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Shocking the World

At that moment, Domino, as the chief warden, stepped forward to report.

"And what else?" Garp furrowed his brows slightly.

"Also… Douglas Bullet escaped together with that prisoner named Qin Chuan!"

"What? Douglas Bullet escaped?!"

Upon hearing that, Garp was struck as if by a bolt of lightning, slamming his palm down hard onto the desk.

With his sudden outburst of fury, the entire room immediately tensed up.

Especially Hannyabal, who was notorious for getting people killed when angry—he was visibly trembling, fearing he might be held responsible.

"Is that guy really that strong?"

Beside him, Aokiji (Kuzan) asked with curiosity, as this was the first time he had ever seen Garp lose his composure like this.

"Heh… at just 15, he was already sailing the seas and undefeated in countless battles. After winning over a hundred fights without suffering a single loss, he eventually met Roger, who finally defeated him. From then on, he followed Roger, traveling the world as part of his crew.

After Roger was executed, Bullet left the Roger Pirates and struck out on his own, causing chaos across the entire sea.

Back then, the Navy had absolutely no way to stop him.

It wasn't until he turned 22 that we managed to capture him—only because we'd gotten early intel on his plans. Nearly the entire Navy mobilized, with me and Sengoku personally leading the charge in what became one of the most famous battles in history.

In the end, he lost due to exhaustion, combined with the sheer overwhelming might of the Navy's forces, and was finally captured and imprisoned here in Impel Down.

Even though so many years have passed, even though our strength has grown considerably, even with admirals like you now in service—we must not underestimate that man."

As Garp recalled the past, the memories of that earth-shattering battle resurfaced clearly in his mind. Douglas Bullet was one of the very few pirates who had forced him to fight with his full strength.

After Garp's explanation, several people present couldn't help but suck in a sharp breath.

Many of them were still very young. When Douglas Bullet made his name, some of them were still toddlers. Naturally, they hadn't been familiar with his legend.

Now, after hearing this firsthand from Vice Admiral Garp, they suddenly realized just how dangerous Douglas Bullet truly was. His escape was extremely bad news.

And to make matters worse, he wasn't alone. He had escaped alongside that mysterious Qin Chuan, whose origins and background were completely unknown.

The room was filled with an oppressive sense of dread.

"Forget it. I'll report this directly to the higher-ups. For now, you all just focus on healing your wounds.

Additionally, I'll assign several heavily armed warships to stand guard here in case of any further incidents."

"Understood!" Magellan nodded firmly.

Soon after, news of Qin Chuan's prison break sent shockwaves across the entire world.

At Marine Headquarters, the highest-level strategic meeting was convened. Every officer of Vice Admiral rank and above was gathered in one room. Presiding over this conference was none other than Fleet Admiral Sengoku.

"Someone tell me—who is this Qin Chuan? Why is it that a nobody locked up on the first floor of Impel Down could turn the entire prison upside down?"

Sengoku opened the meeting with this frustrated question.

But honestly, it was a pointless question, because no one there had any idea either. No one could explain who Qin Chuan was, nor where he'd come from.

"Regardless of his background, anyone who threatens the world must die. I'm willing to personally lead the Navy in hunting him down."

The one who spoke was a man covered in tattoos. His right arm was inked with a sword, from his chest to elbow adorned with roses and cherry blossoms. He wore a dark red suit, a Marine cap, black leather gloves, and over his shoulders draped the mantle of an Admiral. A cigar hung from the corner of his mouth as he spoke with terrifying calm.

This was none other than Admiral Akainu (Sakazuki).

"Hmph… That kid's no pushover. Even Magellan and Shiryu weren't his match."

Another voice interrupted lazily from across the table.

It was spoken by a tall, lanky man with short, slightly curly black hair, wearing sunglasses, sporting a bit of scruff on his face. He wore a yellow-and-white striped suit, with a purple tie and a green dress shirt underneath. This was Admiral Kizaru (Borsalino).

The two of them, Akainu and Kizaru, were two of the Navy's three greatest combat powers—the Three Admirals.

"It's more complicated than that. You're forgetting that Douglas Bullet escaped as well. And that man… even locked away for 20 years, is no ordinary pirate."

A calm but slightly aged voice chimed in.

It came from a woman with shoulder-length white hair, tied back simply, exposing her forehead. She wore green earrings, two gold bracelets on her right wrist, and the standard Vice Admiral's coat draped over her shoulders.

This was Vice Admiral Tsuru, one of the most legendary figures of the Marine era, having stood side by side with Sengoku and Garp back in the day. She was also from Douglas Bullet's generation, making her the one in the room most familiar with Bullet's terrifying strength.

"Hmph! Vice Admiral Tsuru, that's the old era talking. This is our era now. The Marines have never been stronger! Even the New World pirates aren't a match for us anymore."

Having been contradicted twice now, Akainu didn't care in the slightest, responding dismissively and confidently.

"Enough, Sakazuki," Sengoku cut in. "Since you're so confident, you'll lead a detachment to the East Blue immediately. Find them.

One, to exert pressure on the enemy. Two, to show the world that the Marines will not sit idly by.

While technically the Impel Down incident isn't entirely our fault, the World Government's leaders are furious.

Especially after hearing that we let two of the world's most dangerous criminals escape right under our noses, they want this resolved quickly to calm public unrest."

As he finished speaking, Sengoku's gaze shifted—straight at Garp.

Garp, meanwhile, was absently picking his nose, as if none of this had anything to do with him.

It was obvious that Sengoku was still angry at Garp for disobeying orders and letting Qin Chuan escape, leaving them all in this humiliating mess.

But… what could he do?

This was his old comrade. Sengoku could only sit there silently stewing in frustration.
