Chapter 25: Ch 25. Susanoo, Ruthlessly Crushing Akainu

Just then, Roman's arm darkened, shrouded in a jet-black coating of Armament Haki as dark as ink.

The dense Haki etched itself across his arm like tattooed patterns—an intimidating sight.

Sengoku and Garp's pupils shrank as they blurted out, "That's—!!!"

Before they could even finish, a boom exploded across the training ground!

It sounded like a thunderclap bursting right beside their ears, making their entire bodies through their core jolt in shock!

All they could see was Roman's fist pressed directly against Akainu's molten magma arm.

Unlike before, the scorching heat could no longer burn through his arm.

The magma was blocked entirely by that pitch-black Armament Haki.

Akainu's eyes widened in disbelief, "H-How is this possible?! What kind of monstrous Armament Haki can withstand my magma?!"

Sengoku and Garp subconsciously swallowed, murmuring, "This is… peak-level Armament Haki!"

But that couldn't be right.

Roman was so young—how could he have refined his Armament Haki to such a terrifying extent?

Before they could comprehend it further—

Roman looked at Akainu coldly and asked, "You called me weak. But can you withstand my attack?"

As his words fell, the atmosphere around them shifted. A suffocating pressure descended like that of a raging beast.

"Shave (Soru)!"

In a flash, Roman vanished, appearing behind Akainu.

He used the Six Styles to perfection, so fast that Akainu didn't even have time to react.

Roman's arms, coated in thick Armament Haki, stretched out—one high, one low—pressing gently against Akainu's back.

The wind stopped.

All that could be heard was Roman's calm voice:

"Six Styles Secret Skill —Six King Gun(Rokuogan), Modified!"

BOOM!

His Armament Haki-covered fists unleashed a terrifying shockwave that erupted upon contact.

A violent blast blew outward, sending Akainu flying, centered from Roman's position.

"I-I can't see anything!"

"My eyes—what just happened?!"

"Did—did Akainu just get blown away?!"

"WHAT?! Roman sent Akainu flying?!"

Akainu soared into the sky like a broken kite.

In midair, his back went numb—he couldn't even move.

Pain and blood overwhelmed his senses.

He tried gritting his teeth to regain control.

But Roman gave him no chance.

"Moonwalk(Geppo)!"

Though not as fast as his Rooster-Talisman-based movement, Roman's mastery of Moonwalk kept him lightning-fast.

Sunlight lit his back, casting a glowing silhouette as he ascended.

The brightness forced everyone to squint—until Roman himself blocked out the sun.

"Akainu," Roman called coldly. "Didn't you say my fruit was useless? Perfect—I just figured out a new way to use it. Let's see if you can handle it!"

"Phantom Illusion Art — Susanoo!"

A colossal, glowing purple humanoid formed around him, blotting out the sunlight.

The crowd gasped as their vision cleared.

"What… what is that thing?!"

"That purple giant—it looks insanely strong!"

"Does it have some kind of special ability?!"

The Phantom Susanoo was entirely constructed from illusions, but since it was fused with Roman's own body, his Armament Haki fully entwined it.

Though the only "special ability" was complete Armament Haki coverage, at that size, it was devastating.

A single punch from this Susanoo could send someone straight to the afterlife.

Akainu stared in disbelief at the towering figure above him.

He knew it was an illusion… but with Roman's Haki added in, he couldn't even imagine the destructive force it now had.

He wanted to resist—but his body wouldn't move.

"D-Damn you, Roman! I—!!"

BOOM!!

Before he could finish, Roman's giant Susanoo fist came crashing down!

BOOM!!

Akainu hit the ground like a meteor, smashing a crater 300 meters wide into the training field.

At the center of the pit, Akainu lay unconscious.

Helpless.

Only then did Roman finally dismiss his phantom illusion, Susanoo.

He slowly descended, not a speck of dust on him. He looked completely calm, as though this had been an easy match.

The entire training ground was dead silent.

Even Sengoku and Garp were shaken.

Seconds ticked by.

Finally, Roman looked toward Sengoku.

"Fleet Admiral, if I could ask… can you announce the results now?"

His calm voice shattered the silence.

Everyone snapped out of their daze.

Then—

"Admiral Roman!"

"Admiral Roman!"

"Admiral Roman!"

The entire arena erupted with cheers, voices booming across the grounds.

Sengoku's face was neutral. He turned to the medics and ordered, "Quick, go treat Akainu!"

Then he walked to Roman's side and, speaking into the loudspeaker Den-Den Mushi, declared:

"Roman is hereby promoted to the rank of Admiral!"

In the crowd, Kalifa burst forward, throwing herself into Roman's arms.

"Roman! Congratulations on becoming an Admiral!"

Sengoku watched them quietly and sighed: 'Ah… youth, the time of spring blossoms is something else.'

"Roman," he said. "You're the first to rise to the rank of Admiral. Once the remaining two emerge victorious in the other duels, we'll formally declare the new admiral lineup to the world."

"Many thanks, Fleet Admiral."

Sengoku smiled and waved, "No need to thank me. If anything, we should thank you. With you among our ranks, the seas will be a lot more peaceful."

In that moment, Sengoku felt an overwhelming confidence. With Roman now one of the Admirals, a new era was about to begin.

One where the Marines' very name would haunt the hopes and dreams of pirates in every sea. This world shall learn to fear the Marines once again.
