One Piece: New Luffy

Chapter 98: Chapter 95: Attacking a God

The three looked up and immediately saw a ray of light descending from the sky. Without thinking twice after hearing Luffy's warning, they scattered in all directions.

Crash!

A ten-meter-wide pillar of light fell, instantly piercing the ground.

"Luffy!" Zoro's expression changed.

Luffy, struck dead center, was swallowed by the violent energy.

Robin covered her mouth and said, "That sound... it's the atmosphere expanding at the speed of sound. That was thunder!"

"Thunder?" Sanji said, stunned. "Is this the power of the God of Thunder?"

A surge of lightning burst forth, then quickly vanished.

When the light dissipated, Luffy was standing there unharmed, except for a circular crater around his feet.

The island had been pierced!

"Are you okay?" Zoro asked, clearly surprised.

Sanji slapped his palm and suddenly realized, "Luffy's made of rubber—he's immune to electricity! That's it!"

"It's not rubber... It's the Sun God."

Luffy brushed off imaginary dust from his body and said, "I'm a little annoyed at being struck by lightning for no reason. You guys take your time—I'm going to beat him first."

As he spoke, he had already entered Gear Second.

"By the way, you might run into some enemies on the way. Be careful," he warned.

Robin whispered, "It wasn't really for no reason... Aren't we here to kill this 'God'? It's self-defense, right?"

"Exactly," Zoro nodded in agreement.

The Temple.

Enel frowned.

"Rubber? What is that?" he asked.

Born on Sky Island, he had never heard of it before.

In his Mantra, he sensed a presence rapidly approaching him from afar.

Suddenly, he looked up and saw a white light streaking across the sky, crashing into the temple.

Enel narrowed his eyes.

"Are you a user of an Akuma no Mi?"

"Good afternoon, God Enel," Luffy said with a casual laugh. Looking around, he noticed dozens of stunned soldiers.

"Who are you!?" someone shouted angrily.

"I'm not here for you. Move aside," Luffy said, glancing at the soldier—who immediately collapsed, his eyes rolling back.

Enel: "..."

What is happening?

I don't understand!

At this point, Enel couldn't comprehend why his subordinates were fainting just from someone's gaze.

"I received a report earlier about an illegal intruder—a man claiming to be the Sun God. That was you?"

"...."

Luffy smiled and said, "Enel, this world doesn't need two gods. Besides, you're a fake."

"Hahaha... Interesting. Very interesting."

Enel shifted to a seated position, legs crossed. His right elbow rested on his knee, fist supporting his chin. His head tilted slightly, appearing relaxed.

"I'm in a generous mood. So I'll give you a chance to challenge me."

Opening the fingers of his other hand, he said, "Five minutes. I'll sit here without moving, and you may attack me as much as you like."

After a pause, he added, "But once those five minutes are up, I'll retaliate—and punish your three companions."

"Ah, you really are demanding."

Luffy chuckled.

After that light laugh, his figure vanished from his original spot.

Enel's pupils contracted, shock flooding his mind.

Even with his Mantra, he barely caught Luffy's movement, let alone predicted it.

Enel's eyes sharpened as he focused on the area in front of the throne.

Suddenly, a white figure burst into view—a fist descending straight toward his face.

Boom!!

Enel was stunned to find his entire field of vision shifting at an angle.

No—it was his head that had been knocked aside.

Before pain even registered in his brain, his head was slammed beneath the bed by a single punch.

Luffy pulled back his fist and said calmly, "Don't worry. You still have four minutes left."

Zap! With a flash of lightning, Enel's body vanished from beneath the bed.

Luffy turned to see him standing, holding his dislocated jaw and staring in disbelief.

"How... how did you manage to hit me!?"

"Couldn't take it? You said you wouldn't move, but you fled. I even went easy on you. You're so boring."

Luffy's expression darkened—clearly annoyed.

Lightning surged around Enel's body like a violent storm.

He wasn't an idiot. The moment he realized Luffy could actually hit him, staying still and getting beaten senseless would've been foolish.

Since gaining the power of lightning, he had never been humiliated like this.

No longer amused, a murderous gleam appeared in his eyes.

"30,000,000 Volt Anthem!"

Enel struck the drum behind him with his staff, summoning a massive lightning hawk in a blinding explosion.

Luffy calmly approached his opponent.

The massive hawk struck him—yet did nothing.

Lightning crackled all around as Luffy reached out and grabbed the lightning.

"What!?"

Enel's eyes nearly popped out of his head. Who could catch lightning with their bare hands!?

"You don't understand? Then that's your problem."

Enel stood there, completely dumbfounded, suspecting his eyes were lying to him.

"This… this is impossible. My power… What are you!?"

"The Sun God. Your natural enemy."

Luffy grasped the thunder hawk with both hands and squeezed, compressing the lightning's energy until it formed a glowing orb the size of a fist.

Then, he hurled it at Enel.

The orb struck Enel and exploded in a blinding flash.

Boom!!

The power of thunder erupted, consuming the temple in a roaring wave of destruction.

"What a joke! You attack me with electricity? With my own power!? I am a god!"

Enel bellowed in rage, unleashing all his strength.

"200,000,000 Volt Amaru!"

Enel transformed into a massive godlike figure of lightning—like the thunder god Raijin himself.

But before he could even move...

A blinding white bolt of light shot through his colossal form.

Luffy appeared, grabbing Enel by the neck with one hand and slammed him to the ground with a crash.

Even this immense lightning body couldn't harm him.

Enel's face went blank.

"Even among gods, there are levels. Your thunder fruit is powerful… but it pales before mine."

As he spoke, Luffy lifted Enel into the air.

Enel was horrified to find he couldn't transform again.

The grip around his neck tightened, even making it difficult to speak.

"Hmph. If you really want to be useful, then entertain me, try to throw those pathetic power stones at me. Let's see if even your insolence can amuse a king."
