Chapter 37: 《One Piece: Magma of Absolute》Chapter 37: Death of the Empress of Amazon Lily
BOOM!!!!!!!
The two colossal magma hands slammed together, unleashing a cataclysmic eruption. Magma surged in all directions, the roar echoing across the sea as, in mere moments, a new island of molten rock rose from the waves—only to quickly sink beneath the boiling surface, leaving nothing behind but billowing steam. When the mist cleared, the ocean was eerily empty, as if the Kuja Pirates and their ship had never existed.
On the warship, the Marines stood frozen, then erupted into awestruck chatter.
"Whoa!!!"
"Did you see that?!"
"Holy—!"
"That was insane!"
"Those giant magma hands... unstoppable!"
"Vice Admiral Sakazuki!"
"He's back!"
Sakazuki landed on deck, his boots thudding against the planks. The soldiers, battered and bruised, ignored their wounds and scrambled to attention, eyes shining with admiration.
He swept his gaze over them, then waved a hand, his voice as deep and steady as bedrock:
"Enough. Get yourselves patched up."
"Rest while you can."
"Yes, sir!!!" The response thundered from every throat, morale surging.
Without another word, Sakazuki strode to the top deck's rail. His arms transformed, magma pouring out in thick, black-smoked torrents. He raised both arms to the sky.
"Meteor Volcano!"
Like a living artillery battery, he launched volley after volley of magma fists into the clouds—each one vanishing into the heavens with a thunderous bang, bang, bang... The barrage continued for five long minutes, relentless and merciless, before his arms returned to flesh and he disappeared into his quarters.
Far below, in the pitch-black depths of the sea—
A hundred-meter serpent, its scales scorched and blistered, thrashed desperately through the water. Clinging to its back were a handful of women—the last survivors of the Kuja Pirates.
When the magma rained down, nearly everyone and everything was reduced to ash. Only this battered serpent and a dozen or so women remained, fleeing for their lives through the darkness.
After who knew how far they'd traveled, Irenesena—her breath ragged, her body trembling—was about to command the serpent to surface for air.
Sizzle! Sizzle! Sizzle!
The sound was unmistakable: water vaporizing on burning iron. Irenesena's eyes widened in horror as, all around them, massive magma fists—each several meters wide—crashed into the sea.
Smoke and superheated steam exploded in a chaos of bubbles and thunder. The water began to boil, forcing the serpent to writhe in agony.
Irenesena urged it upward. The moment they broke the surface, before a single breath could be drawn—
BOOM!
Sizzle—! Sizzle—! Sizzle—!
An explosion tore through the air, magma devouring flesh. The serpent's massive head was struck head-on by a magma fist and detonated, flesh dissolving in the inferno.
Suddenly, the beast went still, floating lifelessly atop the boiling sea.
The survivors, stripped of their mount, could only stare in terror at the hellscape around them.
Above, blood-red clouds stretched endlessly across the sky. Magma fists, trailing black smoke, punched through the clouds one after another—falling like doomsday meteors into the ocean.
The sea itself writhed in agony. Bubbles burst, water leapt and seethed, and the bodies of countless sea creatures floated to the surface—an apocalyptic tableau.
"Is that...?!"
"Run!"
"Run—now!"
BOOM!
Sizzle—! Sizzle—! Sizzle—!
A magma fist fell among them. Someone managed a warning before the world went white, then silent.
Blasted into the water, Irenesena cloaked herself in Haki, fighting toward the surface.
"ROOAAAR—!"
A vast, ancient bellow echoed through the depths, tinged with panic.
The sea churned violently as a titanic force surged upward. Irenesena, struggling to steady herself, stared in horror as a massive shadow rushed beneath her—its size growing impossibly fast until all she saw was darkness.
Despair and fury warred in her eyes as the shadow rose.
BOOM!!!!!!!
With magma burns scarring its back, a Sea King the size of an island erupted from the water, sending waves hundreds of meters high crashing outward.
"ROOAAAR!!!"
That ancient, mournful cry rang out again, echoing across the end of the world.
BOOM!!!!!!!!!!
Another earth-shattering crash, and the monstrous form vanished into the deep, fleeing toward the distant horizon.
Days and nights passed—how many, no one could say. The sea grew calm, the sky clear. A few seagulls drifted lazily overhead, the only hint of peace.
But the surface was littered with the bodies of cooked sea creatures—a silent testament to the apocalypse that had swept through not long before.
Edge of the Calm Belt.
After days of frantic repair, the Marine warship floated once more.
"Vice Admiral Sakazuki," the adjutant reported crisply to the Justice-cloaked figure at the prow, "Engine room is fully repaired."
