Chapter 36: 《One Piece: Magma of Absolute》Chapter 36: Palms Pressed Together
Sakazuki plummeted from the sky, magma swirling around his right foot as he stomped down toward Irenesena's last position.
But the Empress was quick—she braced herself with her left hand and rolled aside, narrowly dodging his attack.
BOOM!
A deafening blast shook the air. Magma erupted from beneath Sakazuki's foot, exploding outward like a volcanic nightmare, flooding the battlefield in a tide of molten rock.
Before Irenesena could even rise, a wall of magma surged toward her, threatening to swallow her whole.
She pushed off with both arms, launching herself into the air. Her legs danced atop the sky, retreating step after step as if she were running on invisible stairs.
"Earth-Rising Spire!"
Sakazuki melted into the surrounding magma, his form vanishing as his Observation Haki locked onto Irenesena's next landing point.
A pillar of magma shot up from below—an eruption shaped like a mountain, rising to meet her.
Irenesena's legs flared with Haki as she stomped down, shattering the magma peak with a thunderous kick.
But the mountain's lower half burst open, unleashing a geyser of magma straight into the sky. The force sent Irenesena tumbling backward, hurtling toward the very summit of the eruption.
Sakazuki's upper body emerged from the endless magma, his lower half still fused with the molten flow. A magma column extended beneath him, launching his torso upward at blinding speed.
"Inugami Guren—Red Lotus Hound."
His voice was cold as death. One arm transformed into magma, his fist morphing into the gaping jaws of a monstrous dog, snapping straight for Irenesena's throat.
CLANG!
Steel rang out. Irenesena drew her longsword, Haki shimmering along its edge as she blocked the beast's maw. Using the force, she flung herself backward through the air.
Her blade now wrapped in spiraling Conqueror's Haki, Irenesena swung down with all her might. Giant crescent-shaped slashes tore through the air, cleaving the corpse of the Sea King below into massive chunks. The buoyancy gone, most of the magma-covered carcass sank into the depths.
Irenesena landed atop one of the remaining floating fragments, eyes locked on Sakazuki above, both hands gripping her sword as she gathered her strength.
Sakazuki didn't spare a glance at the sinking wreckage. He pressed his hands together, then pulled them apart—within a heartbeat, a black blade over three meters long took shape, Armament Haki coating its edge.
He dove from the sky, gripping the massive sword in both hands, swinging it down with crushing force.
Irenesena's own blade, spiraling with Conqueror's Haki, met his strike head-on.
CLANG!
Metal screamed against metal, followed by a colossal thunderclap.
A hurricane of wind exploded from their clash, tearing at everything nearby.
Crackle—! Crackle—!
Black and red lightning sparked and danced along their locked blades.
"HAAAHHHHH!!!"
Irenesena roared, pouring every ounce of strength into her attack.
A flicker of seriousness flashed across Sakazuki's face as he unleashed a surge of raw power, pressing down with overwhelming might.
BOOM!
The force was too great—their blades were wrenched apart, one carving into the sea below, the other slashing into the heavens above.
Two titanic waves of sword energy, one horizontal and one vertical, split the sea and sky in half.
Blown apart by the shockwave, Irenesena crashed onto a massive chunk of flesh. She steadied herself, gripping her sword tightly, eyes never leaving Sakazuki as he hovered in the air.
Sakazuki tapped his right foot in midair—a sonic boom cracked as he held his position, staring down at his opponent.
Bang!
Another sonic boom, another burst of wind.
Both fighters vanished, reappearing in a blur of motion. Their blades clashed again and again—sometimes in the air, sometimes on the floating remains of the Sea King.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Jets of water erupted all around them as their duel tore the ocean asunder. At last, they reappeared, swords locked in a trembling stalemate.
Clang!
Crackle—! Crackle—!
Irenesena was sent flying, her body tracing afterimages through the sky before crashing into the distant Kuja Pirates' ship.
BOOM!
"What was that?!"
"No way!"
"Your Majesty!"
"Catch her—quick!"
The crew of the Kuja Pirates cried out in shock as the figure hurtled toward them. Realizing it was their Empress, they rushed to intercept her path.
But the force was monstrous. The collision sent several crew members crashing with her into the ship's cabin.
"Ugh…"
"Hiss…"
"Where's Her Majesty?!"
Splurt!
"Cough… cough…"
Groans of pain filled the cabin, but no one cared about their own injuries—all eyes searched for their Empress.
"Cough… cough… I'm fine."
Irenesena's voice was weak but steady as she rose, leaning on her sword, face pale as paper.
Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth. Her right hand, gripping her weapon, trembled uncontrollably.
The gap… it was too wide, especially in raw strength. Every clash felt like being struck by a volcanic eruption—her hands were numb, her arms nearly useless.
Suddenly, Irenesena sensed danger. She looked up sharply, kicked off, and burst out of the cabin just as Sakazuki's cold voice boomed from above.
"Great Eruption!"
A magma fist, several times larger than the Kuja Pirates' ship, descended from the sky.
A crescent blade of sword energy shot up from the ship, slicing the magma fist clean in two with a single whoosh, sending the halves crashing down on either side.
Then Irenesena's furious roar echoed across the battlefield:
"Enough, Marine!"
Having split the magma fist, she glared up at Sakazuki, who hovered in the air atop Moonwalk.
"This time, we admit defeat. Take all the treasure on this ship. It's yours."
But Sakazuki only looked down with icy indifference, his voice like a death sentence:
"You think this is just a game of playing pirates?"
Clap!
Midair, Sakazuki pressed his palms together.
The split magma fists twisted as they fell, transforming into two colossal magma hands.
Thunder rumbled. Magma spewed from the backs of the hands, and the Kuja Pirates' ship seemed to be pulled by some invisible force.
The two giant palms closed in, pressing together with the ship caught in between.
BOOM!!!!
