Chapter 24: 《One Piece: Magma of Absolute》Chapter 23: The Death of Rocks

On the Buster Call fleet's side—

All the soldiers had boarded their ships. Warship after warship surged away from the island at full speed.

Sakazuki stood at the stern, his eyes locked on the island's center.

The battle there raged wilder by the second—so fierce, the island itself was splitting apart before his very eyes.

Sakazuki knew: time was running out.

This level of violence would only hasten the volcano's eruption. He stepped forward—and vanished in a blur.

A fleeting shadow flashed across the deck, landing at the stern of the last warship.

This ship hadn't moved; it was the designated pickup for the last evacuees.

"Vice Admiral Morris, let me handle the rear guard."

"My power is magma—if anything goes wrong, I'm the one most likely to survive."

"This... very well. But be careful, Sakazuki."

"Don't worry, Vice Admiral."

Morris hesitated, but finally nodded.

Just as Sakazuki said, as the wielder of the Mag-Mag Fruit, there was no one better suited for this job.

He handed the Den Den Mushi to Sakazuki, then leapt onto a nearby warship as it pulled away from the island.

Sakazuki watched him go, then stood motionless at the stern.

His thoughts drifted to that pillar of energy he'd seen earlier—one that seemed to pierce the heavens themselves.

No one on the island had an ability like that... So was it that super warship?

Frowning, Sakazuki stared at the torn sky above the island's heart.

At the center of the battlefield—

RUMBLE!

Haki raged unchecked, Conqueror's Haki crackling with lightning, the air thick with explosive force.

Rocks hurled a punch, sending Garp flying.

Kong and the towering Five Elder Star pressed in without pause.

Before he could even knock them back, Rayleigh and Roger came slashing with their blades.

Rocks was a beast trapped in a snare, driven step by step toward the abyss.

At the rim of a deep crater, Rocks was knocked tumbling.

Now, the heat rising from the pit was so intense it could sear flesh in an instant.

Even shrouded in Armament Haki, everyone felt the sting.

Blood streamed from Rocks' chest—only to hiss and vanish, evaporated before it could hit the ground, leaving behind nothing but dry, crimson scars.

"Huff... huff..."

Rocks panted, sweeping his gaze over the circle closing in: the two Five Elder Stars, Kong, Roger, Garp, Sengoku, Rayleigh, Jabba.

He let out a long sigh.

"Defeated, huh?"

"But you'll never stop the Will of D."

"Ahahahaha!!!"

The sword-wielding Five Elder Star wrapped his blade in Conqueror's Haki.

He looked at Rocks and spoke with chilling calm:

"Enough talk."

It was a sentence, not a conversation.

Hearing this, Rocks fell silent.

He glanced at the swordsman, lips curling in a mocking sneer.

"Heh. This rotten world, ruled by pigs... what a joke."

Then he looked to Roger—all the rage gone, as if he'd accepted his fate.

"And you—take care of yourself, Roger."

With those words, a storm of bloodlust and Conqueror's Haki exploded from Rocks.

Burning his life to its limit, his face twisted in wild, unhinged fury.

"I—"

"AM—"

"ROCKS D. XEBEC!!!"

BOOM!

The world itself seemed to tremble. Clouds shattered and scattered across the sky.

The sea surged and roiled. The island buckled and split apart, trembling with the force.

From Sakazuki's vantage point—

First, a blinding white light erupted, followed by an earth-shattering explosion.

Moments later, a pillar of thick smoke soared from the island.

Dark red magma, wrapped in swirling black smoke, shot skyward.

RUMBLE!

The magma column grew thicker, spreading outward like a monstrous tree.

Lava, far greater than even a Meteor Volcano, rained down from the heavens.

Across the smoke-choked sky, a thousand crimson trails blazed.

The island shattered under the titanic force—endless magma spewed from the depths.

The entire landmass became a volcanic crater, a mushroom cloud billowing to fill the sky.

The sea went berserk too—towering waves, a hundred meters high, crashed in all directions.

Hurricanes howled. Volcanic ash swept in like a blizzard.

It was clear: every living thing within ten thousand miles of this sea would be wiped out.

A disaster of this scale—

For the next year, the West Blue would know only cold. The sky would be choked with ash, sunlight lost behind a shroud of darkness.
