Chapter 16: 《One Piece: Magma of Absolute》Chapter 16: The Super Warship Beneath God Valley

In a single heartbeat, lightning went wild.

Bolts of electricity converged from every direction, swirling above the Buster Call fleet like the wrath of the gods. Before all the Marine soldiers could even scramble below deck, a storm of thunder crashed down.

CRACK! BOOM!

Countless lightning strikes hammered the warships, each bolt seeming almost sentient. If one missed its mark or was blocked, it veered, hunting for new targets among the crew.

In moments, dozens of Marines were knocked out or badly burned, chaos erupting across the decks.

Seeing this, a Marine Vice Admiral with a long sword at his hip could no longer stand by. He vaulted onto the deck, drew his famed blade, and wreathed it in Armament Haki.

With a single swing, a meteor-shaped wave of sword energy shot skyward, growing larger as it soared. By the time it pierced the storm clouds, it had swelled to a hundred meters across—then exploded, sending ripples through the sky like a stone tossed into a pond.

In an instant, a vast swath of thunderclouds above the fleet was blown away. The Vice Admiral barked orders, directing the wounded to be treated and the officers to regroup on deck, forming up in tight battle lines as they stared down the pirates massed on the distant beach.

"Thunder Drum!!"

Charlotte Linlin's furious roar echoed across the sea.

She gathered every storm cloud, stacking them layer upon layer at the breach in the sky. The thunder grew so dense it became a single, monstrous storm cell, pulsing with energy.

Then, thick bolts of lightning lanced down toward the warships—while from the ships themselves, sword energy arced upward to clash against the descending thunder.

Crack, crack, crack, crack...

The steady, purposeful stomp of combat boots rang out on the deck.

Golden Lion Shiki turned, his grin widening as the man he'd been waiting for finally arrived. With rare sincerity, he spoke:

"Newgate, let's join forces. Let's turn this world upside down."

Gurararara! Whitebeard chuckled, shaking his head. "You know I'm not interested in that, Shiki. All I want... is family."

The last to arrive, Whitebeard stepped up beside Shiki, gazing out at the endless sea. His eyes grew distant, as if lost in memories, and a faint smile tugged at his lips.

"One after another... really..."

Though he'd known what the answer would be, a wave of disappointment washed over Shiki. He sighed, helpless.

"All right, Linlin," he called out. "Time to move."

He gathered himself, then addressed Charlotte Linlin—raising his right hand, hooking his finger upward, then flicking his wrist forward.

The remaining pirate ships rocketed skyward, soaring in formation toward the New World.

Charlotte Linlin, having vented her rage for half a day, had regained some composure. She didn't say a word—just commanded Zeus to compress the thunderstorm, pressing it down toward the Buster Call fleet.

As the storm closed to within a few hundred meters of the ships, the Vice Admiral who had shattered the clouds earlier gripped a shell in his left hand, his sword in his right. He crouched, gathering his strength—then launched himself skyward.

SWISH!

He appeared a hundred meters above the fleet, meeting the descending thunderstorm head-on. With a single, fluid motion, he slashed upward.

"One-Sword Style: Sky Severing!"

An invisible blade of sword energy tore through the heart of the storm, from bottom to top. The thundercloud didn't react at first, continuing its relentless descent.

The swordsman landed lightly on deck, the crisp sound of his blade sliding home echoing in the silence.

Then, with a thunderous roar, the storm finally split in two, each half collapsing harmlessly into the sea on either side of the fleet.

CRACKLE! SNAP!

Lightning exploded across the surface, and for miles around, fish and Sea Kings floated up by the hundreds, stunned or dead.

Meanwhile, deep beneath the central battlefield, Sakazuki had come to a halt several hundred meters underground.

He sent out a thread of Observation Haki, probing upward, then quickly withdrew it after brushing the surface.

Above, Conqueror's Haki raged unchecked, clashing in the heavens. None of the combatants sensed the faint flicker of intent from below.

After guiding the magma flows and setting up several eruption paths, Sakazuki slipped away, traveling through the earth until he finally emerged at the island's edge.

Now, he would wait—either for the titanic battle above to shake the island's foundations, or for the appointed time to arrive.

And when it did, endless magma would erupt from below, swallowing the island in moments—a cataclysm that would erase everything.

Including the super warship buried deep underground, its numbered hull a relic from a future that had no place in this era...
