Chapter 142: 142 Rocks Pirates Reunion
"I'm sorry, boss! We didn't have a choice before, but now we want to be good people."
"Please forgive us, boss!"
"You guys better watch out! If I, Buggy, don't kill you, read your names backwards!"
Before Lynch could do anything, Buggy's crew rushed forward and tied him up tightly, and Lynch stepped on the bundle.
Lynch was quite interested by Buggy; after all, not everyone has such an impressive name when pronounced backwards.
"Now tell me what's going on."
…
"Oh? So you all gathered here to find Captain John's treasure? Hand over the treasure map."
Lynch took Buggy's treasure map and drew a large circle on it to mark the treasure's location.
Below the map, there was a line of riddles.
[When light and darkness intertwine, the bell of dawn will eventually ring.]
[Under the blessing of the Moon Goddess, ancient dust will rise from the deep sea.]
[Travelers searching for treasure, remember: there is only one jackpot each month.]
The first riddle is straightforward. It refers to the time when light and darkness intersect, which is around 4 to 6 o'clock in the morning.
He still didn't understand the meaning of the next few lines.
Suddenly, Lynch had an idea.
The second sentence seemed to suggest that bells can be heard ringing at dawn in that place.
When combining the last two sentences, it could mean that once a month, during a full moon, the island with the treasure rises from the sea.
Lynch couldn't help but admire his idea and thought it was very likely.
"Come here, a few of you. Go check where you can hear the bells ringing around here," Lynch ordered some of Buggy's crew.
"Yes, Boss Lynch!" they replied.
"By the way, how many days until the next full moon?"
"Boss, there should be six days left"
"Great. I'll give you six days. If you can't find it, you'll all end up in the Impel Down prison."
Five days passed quickly, and finally, in the early morning of the sixth day, the Buggy crew discovered the location they had been searching for.
It is a small island rich in copper mines.
In the early morning, when the sea breeze blows through the unique terrain, it creates a sound like a copper bell.
Lynch isn't the only clever one; as night fell, more pirate ships began to appear around the island.
They likely arrived at this time to avoid being followed.
The Whitebeard Pirates, Big Mom Pirates, Beasts Pirates, and the Pirates of Beehive Island were all gathered.
Buggy watched these powerful figures and felt his legs tremble.
If he had known so many big names would show up, he wouldn't have come.
Now, he truly felt like a clown.
"Admiral Sun Candle, please let me go. I don't want this treasure anymore!" Buggy pleaded, on the verge of tears. But it was too late; he was already a prisoner.
"Since you know Shanks and I are friends, you should at least give him some face!"
"Shut up."
With a quick slap on the head, Buggy learned to be more obedient.
Buggy's men looked at him with sympathy.
The surrounding pirates agreed to stop, and no conflict broke out.
For them, fighting was just a way to compete for treasure, and they weren't even sure if there was really a treasure here.
Despite the current peace, if treasure really appeared, these pirates would fight fiercely for it.
The moon moved westward, shining brightly in the night sky since it was a full moon.
Before long, it was four o'clock in the morning.
A thin mist rose from the sea, and the eerie silence felt unsettling.
At four-thirty, the sea beneath them suddenly began to boil, with several columns of water shooting up to dozens of meters high.
One of the jets almost hit Buggy's boat, making him go pale with fear.
If that powerful water flow struck, it would shatter the ship to pieces.
"Boom!"
Suddenly, a loud noise erupted from beneath the sea, causing the surface to bulge higher than the surrounding water, as if something were rising from the depths.
The pirate ships were pushed away by the force of the current.
"Hold on tight! Don't fall into the water!"
The pirates on Buggy's ship were tossed around by the current, desperately grabbing onto anything they could find.
Meanwhile, Lynch stood firmly on Buggy's ship, steady as a rock.
As the ocean current calmed down, a dusty island emerged from the depths, pushed to the surface by the turbulence caused by the full moon's high tide.
"There really is an island!"
"Such incredible craftsmanship exists in the world!"
The pirates were stunned and realized it was the perfect moment to land on the island. If they hesitated, other pirates might snatch the treasure first.
"Let's go, everyone!"
"That's the legendary treasure of Captain John! Hurry up, brothers!"
As soon as a large number of pirate ships docked, countless pirates rushed forward impatiently.
"Buggy, take care of yourself," Lynch said, glancing at Buggy with side eye before jumping onto the island.
He ignored the wet ground and charged toward the island's center with the large group.
As he moved, Lynch saw Kaido, Whitebeard, and Big Mom among the crowd. Is that the one in golden armor Ochoku from the Rocks pirates?
The figure wielding an axe and wearing armor is Silver Ax from the Rocks pirates.
Lynch recognized some of the famous pirates, while others were unfamiliar to him.
Overall, this group seemed to consist of former members of the Rocks Pirates.
The three among them who are now the Four Emperors demonstrate the fearsome legacy of the Rocks Pirates.
"Hahahaha, Whitebeard, Linlin, Kaido, we meet again." Ochoku laughed while stroking his beard, and his cheerful appearance attracted Lynch's frequent glances.
This kind of magnanimity is worthy of being a great pirate in the past.
"Ochoku, it's been a long time," Whitebeard replied, feeling nostalgic. Ochoku's presence brought back memories of his younger days.
Those were truly remarkable years.
"Woorororor~ Ochoku, do you want to join me?"
"Mamaa mamaa~ Ochoku, don't forget to come to my next tea party!"
During his time on the Rocks ship, Ochoku was one of the few heroes among a group of ruthless pirates.
These newcomers were often taken care of by Ochoku.
Even today, Kaido and Big Mom still have a certain fondness for Ochoku.
There are not many people on the sea who can greet Kaido and Big Mom warmly.
"We, the Rocks Pirates, are reunited after so many years, but who would have thought it would be because of that guy, John?" Ochoku lamented.
In contrast to Ochoku, Silver Ax had a completely different reputation.
"Silver Ax, why don't you come over and say hello when you see me?"
"Hey, Silver Ax! Come and talk to me!"
