Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Lynn’s Wish Come True
The moon was dim, the stars sparse, and the sea breeze blew strongly.
Lynn didn't return to the Going Merry. Instead, he sat in a small boat rented from the sea restaurant, enjoying the night view with the elegant lady, Lanti.
Where did Lynn get all the Beri? Just the 250 that Nami gave him?
No way. Don't forget who Lynn is—does he really need Beri?
He rowed the oars, paddling under the clear sky, following the flowing light.
The scent of perfume and the gentle feminine charm carried by the night breeze stirred Lynn's heart.
At just the right moment, Lanti turned and pointed toward the Going Merry. "Is that your ship?"
Lynn nodded. "The man with the straw hat is my captain. Not sure when we'll set sail."
Lanti sighed softly. "Life is like duckweed, drifting with the flow…"
Lynn wrapped an arm around her waist. "Why the sudden sadness?"
She shook her head. "I have to leave tomorrow. I'm too weak for a long sea voyage."
Lynn frowned. "So you're really leaving."
"We were going to take the navy captain's ship, but... well, he's not what we expected."
Lynn chuckled, letting Lanti rest her head on his shoulder. "Let's not talk about him."
She smiled quietly. "Okay."
"Ahem." Lynn glanced around. "It's getting windy. Shall we head back inside the boat?"
Lanti looked at him playfully before following him in.
Feeling Lynn's mischievous arm, she giggled. "Stop it! I'm ticklish!"
Lynn grinned. "Since you're ticklish, I'll help you—no more itchiness soon."
"Ah, you bad guy…"
The sea breeze still blew, and from the restaurant came the occasional quarrel of chefs. The boat gently rocked as Lynn and Lanti's laughter mingled with the waves.
...
Morning sun spilled over the sea. The restaurant on the water grew lively.
Lynn woke alone. Lanti was gone, as if last night had been a dream. He felt a little lost.
But his great dream awaited. Especially the one in the Kingdom of Women—he couldn't linger.
Stepping into the sea restaurant, Usopp ran up, jealousy clear in his eyes. "Lynn! How'd you sleep last night?"
Nami looked at him with amusement. Lynn played dumb. "Last night? You dare mention last night? I was drunk and you didn't bring me back—so I got blown all night by the sea breeze. Ah... I think I caught a cold!"
Zoro rolled his eyes. "Really?"
Lynn scowled. "What's that supposed to mean? You wanna fight, bastard?"
Zoro drew his sword mockingly. "Come on, who's afraid?"
Nami groaned, holding her forehead. "Enough! Let's go eat."
Lynn quickly sweet-talked, "You're still so gentle in the morning..."
Nami blinked in surprise. Who ever called her gentle?
Thinking about how close Lynn had been with that beautiful woman last night, she teased, "You should talk to her again."
Usopp cut in, "I don't know how long Luffy will be stuck here!"
"Who's calling me? Oh, Usopp!" Luffy greeted as the group entered.
Lynn looked up. "Luffy, how long are you staying?"
Luffy pouted. "Depends on when that old man lets me go."
Suddenly, a shadow darted before Nami. It was Sanji.
"Good morning, Miss Nami," Sanji said eagerly. "Anything you want to eat? I'll personally make it, and it's free for you."
Then his face hardened. Turning to Lynn and the others, he said, "You all must pay in full."
Nami smiled sweetly. "Arigato, Mr. Sanji."
Sanji's eyes reddened. "C-cute, you're welcome, Miss Nami."
Lynn pointed at Sanji and asked Paddy—the burly waiter who'd beaten Gin yesterday, "Hey, Mr. Chef, why is there such a strange creature in your restaurant? You should get him checked out..."
Before he finished, Sanji kicked at him. But compared to Lynn's lightning reflexes, Sanji's speed was slow.
Lynn easily caught the kick with one hand.
Everyone nearby burst out laughing.
Zoro chuckled. "Hahaha, chef, kick him to death!"
Paddy covered his mouth. "Sanji, come back quick—I'll take you to the doctor! Hahaha!"
Sanji glared at Lynn. "You bastard!"
Lynn laughed. "Your leg strength's still weak."
Sanji growled, "What did you say!"
Nami quickly intervened. "Mr. Sanji, please stop fighting—for my sake!"
Sanji's expression shifted instantly; his eyes went red as he said, "Yes, Miss Nami."
Watching Sanji like that, Lynn thought: This guy's definitely sick.
Sure, Lynn flirts with beautiful women too—but his style is different!
Lynn's is purposeful; Sanji's is instinctive.
Well, there's the difference—one's controlled, the other's out of control. Poor Sanji!
Lynn was in a great mood and didn't bother arguing with Sanji, because he'd felt like he'd been living a dream last night...
Soon everyone gathered at the table. Zoro began ordering wine.
Lynn rolled his eyes. "You bad boy, all you do is drink! Your liver's gonna rot! Waiter, bring me a bottle too!"
Zoro's face darkened. This guy really deserved a beating.
The restaurant grew louder—until a fearful voice broke through: "Chef Zeff, it's bad! Don Kreig is here!"
The moment the name Don Kreig was mentioned, the room fell silent. Everyone's eyes turned to the door.
There, the late Gin was helping a tall man in golden armor into the restaurant...
