One piece: Evolving Towards a New Race

The party went on for most of the day, at the final stretch of the afternoon, everyone started carrying parts of the fish back to a house. What Ars originally thought was a house, was actually a food smoker. 

When they went back to get the rest of the fish, Ars noticed that Koral and Rook had woken up, they seemed to have a huge hangover, so Ars decided it was the best time to punish them, by giving them a even worst headache, so he went to scream at them as loud as he could.

After screaming non sense at them for a while, Ars got serious and then looked at Koral angrily, "You as a doctor should especially know that you shouldn't drink that much, especially when you're pregnant!! "

Koral looked ashamed of herself, she knew she had messed up horribly and that she should be more careful, so she admitted it "Sorry! I didn't intend to drink much, or to be precise I didn't drink much but my tolerance is pretty bad, so I just drank a little and got instantly drunk." She took a short break to look at Ars who was still looking at her angrily, then looked to the side, laughed and commented " My brother's tolerance is even worse than mine, he can't even stay near an open barrel of wine for long without getting drunk, so we actually didn't drink that much… I promise "

"If you knew that your tolerance is that bad, more reasons not to drink, right???? " Ars said, a little annoyed with her excuses.

Koral looked at Ars directly into his eyes, bowed her head and promised "I'm sorry, it won't happen again I guarantee it!!"

Ars looked at her and closed his eyes and sighed and said "Fine, you should rest.", he then looked at Rook with a grin and said "You can come help carry the fish, mister uncle, unlike the pregnant lady you don't have an excuse for not helping!"

Rook grumbled for a bit but then he got up and went to help.

After a few trips they had brought all the fish, and then Tom and Oak slowly explained to Ars what happened the previous few days.

After receiving a detailed explanation, Ars summarized it "So basically, we got a small clinic that also serves as a daycare for the children, a bunch of small houses and a decently large smoker to help conserve food, right?"

Tom and Oak looked at each other, then at Ars and nodded. "Well yes!"

Ars asked a few more questions.

" Does everyone have a house now?"

"Missing only a few to get everyone an individual house, and we also need to account for more refugees that may come in the future. "

Ars nodded at them "After we are done with houses we should start building a dock, which one day will be part of our future port. And maybe reserve a area near the sea for a shipyard."

Tom and Oak nodded enthusiastically, they were quite excited about the shipyard. Once the talk was over, Ars left them with their plans, and then went to find Rook next, once he found him he started discussing starting training for the guards.

"I think from tomorrow onwards we should start training properly and hard, so we can actually defend ourselves better in case of an enemy attack, and once we are strong enough we will be able to hunt down pirates and slavers, for resources and for people."

Rook nodded, and then clutched his head from the pain caused by the hangover mixed with head movement, and said with a smile "Ugh….I won't ever drink again…."

" HAHAHAHA!! Why don't I believe that even a little bit?" Ars shook his head. "Well i'm going to see Koral to inform her about the training, just in case something wrong happens, do you want to come along??"

"No, I will just stay here, away from noise… and movement…."

Ars went to the clinic, and before even coming in, someone came out diving towards him with full force. "Big brother, let's go play!! "It was Lily, who was already going around running everywhere beyond excited these last few days, the reason was that she finally had other children that didn't shun her to play with. 

Ars smiled at her, picked her up in his arms and kept going towards Koral normal place and replied to Lily "Later, for now I need to do something first!"

When he arrived at the local Koral usually was, he only saw the children, the elderly couple and two of the females, he looked at the females, who were now panicking and then at the elders, who were slightly calmer " Do you guys happen to know where Koral currently is?"

The elderly man got up nervously, and bowed his head "Your majesty, Koral was feeling unwell, so she went to rest."

Ars smiled, but knowing his new title had come to stay, simply decided to give up trying to change it, then he looked back at the old man and kept smiling.

 " Feeling unwell…. More like a huge hangover. And you don't need to be nervous or scared of me, I normally don't bite… At this time of the day. "

Getting caught by surprise by what he said, the elders tried not to laugh, on the other hand the two females blushed, and started looking at the ground. Meanwhile the children were using him as an obstacle while playing catch, ignoring the grown ups around, Lily also jumped down and then went to play with them. 

Ars then went to the back, and found Koral with her eyes closed. 

"Are you awake?"

"Hum! Yes… Do you need me for something?" 

"Just came to inform you that from tomorrow onwards, the guard group is gonna start training, and might get some injuries from time to time, and you need to be ready to help."

"Ok, tomorrow i will be completely recovered and in working shape…I hope… But just for today, please, just… Just let me rest, if it is minor injuries i have been teaching those two girls how to treat them. "

"So those two will be your apprentices and assistants, in the near future right?"

"Yes and please just let me be!"

Ars jokingly said "And it was supposed to be 1 not 2…"

She looked at him, speechless, because she knew he didn't care and was just punishing her lightly so she returned the joke "And apparently, all of a sudden you care about minor stuff, what's next, you actually caring about being a superhero or something?? If so, please go fly around to another place…Far away from me, just for today!"

Ars left laughing, and once he was outside, he was caught by Lily again, " Play with us!!" Ars thought about it, and realized today he was now mainly free, and with just a few hours to go before night time, he accepted the invitation and passed the next few hours running, and playing with the children. At the beginning the elders and the two females were completely lost, not knowing what to do, but after a while they relaxed, and got to laugh at the panicking family members when they came to pick up the children.

Ars also went to his house, but before going to sleep he went to check one of the machines in the cave, there he tried to use the machine to create suits that restrained movements.

After some failed attempts, he managed to create a few suits that made the user feel like they were under heavier gravities, after a few calculations, he reached the conclusion that wearing the suit was roughly equivalent to being under 3 times the gravity.

He then created suits for everyone in the guard group, the suits were completely black and super thin composed of 2 pieces, upper torso and legs , and easily worn under their normal clothes, without being too noticeable. 

With everything prepared for the next day he went to rest.

The following day, while wearing his suit, he went to meet the guard group. Rook was already here, "Good morning!" Rook greeted Ars while yawning, and then Ars commented "Good morning, everyone else seems to be late… And here, a present, it will help with training, you can wear it under your clothes" Ars threw a training suit towards Rook.

Rook, before getting the suit on, wasn't that sold on the idea that the suit would help with training, until he wore it… Then he changed his mind, and now wasn't even sure if he would be able to last an entire training session with the suit. 

"This might not be that useful at the start, even for me, I might struggle to use it properly the first few days." Rook said while looking at Ars.

"It's not that bad…" Ars looked at Rook, thinking he was exaggerating.

"Are you also wearing one now? "

Ars nodded, not understanding Rook, in his eyes this was the best and fastest path for full body training.

When almost a half hour passed, the last member arrived and got scolded for being late by rook. Now that everyone was finally here, Ars intended to give them a training suit as a present, and Rook intervened explaining.

"Maybe it's better for them to start without the suit, after all it was only recently that they started putting on some weight." 

Ars thought about it and agreed. When they arrived they were just skin and bones, training with the suit might be too much for them for now.

The next 8 weeks were mainly split into 4 hours of stamina training, 2 of agility training, another 2 of strength training and finally another 2 for training with weapons of their choice.

The weapons they chose were mainly swords, and a few axes.

The only different day was when Ars saw that the sample from Tom had been finally examined. He discovered that fishman were not that genetically different from humans, yes there are a few differences, but after removing those differences he could get a nice boost to his body potential when he decided to do soo. He concluded that probably all races were actually very similar, almost like the difference between someone who had eaten an akuma no mi and someone who didn't. When he thought about it, it also explained how Jinbe in the future managed to donate blood to Luffy.

The rest of the time was a repeat from the previous day, at the end of those weeks, Ars had managed to reach the level of a skillful swordsman, he wasn't on the cutting steel level yet but he wasn't too far of, Rook also managed to get quite strong and skillful with his sword, but physically he was now decently behind Ars.

The reason Ars was quite ahead, was that he had lived with the suit 24/7 with the exception of baths, and the moment the suit started to feel comfortable and easy to use, he would instantly get a new more restrictive suit, and finally the fact that his body potential was slightly higher. His suit now was closer to 5 times the gravity.

Other than Ars and Rook, the others only managed to start wearing the suits in the second week, and were now slightly muscular instead of just skin and bones.

And finally Ars had brought back Rook and Koral parents back, to live with them.
