One piece: Evolving Towards a New Race

Rook was getting ready to fight, thinking pirates were coming, but when he saw Ars waving at him from the ship he instantly relaxed. As he approached, he looked at Ars, laughed and commented" I didn't think you would bring an entire ship this time!!!" 

"Huhuhuhuhu, we had a friendly meeting with some pirates, and they decided to donate for a good cause, which happens to be mine, so after we discussed it I helped put them to sleep peacefully by the sea!" Ars laughed and then did some exaggerated arm movements, while being playful. " We have a bunch of surprises in store for you guys…" Ars grinning from ear to ear, and that unsettled Rook.

Ars disembarked first along with Tom, followed by Koral, and then Rook froze with the number of people that were starting to show themselves on the boat. Ars, Tom and Rook helped those who had difficulties disembarking alone, like the elderly and the children. Ars then went to get the provisions that were on the boat and split them up, so it would be easier to carry them back, but even then they would need several trips to take all of the provisions back to camp.

Rook looked at everyone who had disembarked and then looked at Ars "It's indeed a big surprise… Now I get why it took you longer than expected to return. "

Ars nodded and pointed at the small boat, "From now on we can use that ship to fish, we also need to separate roles, and add new ones!" Everyone agreed, and started going back to the settlement carrying provisions with them, leaving the rest on the ship for the time being, but it wouldn't be long.

After a few more trips they had brought the supplies, and with the previous ones and the gathered supplies from the island, they would have food for at least two weeks, and with that Ars decided to assign some roles.

"There are 37 of you besides the 5 children and the elderly, all of you will need to help, the elderly couple, and one more female can help Koral keeping an eye on the children, the 9 adult men and the 4 young men can chose to split between being guards or being builders, but independently everyone will help build the next few days, the 9 young girls and the 6 adult ones, like the males will help with building and doing certain tasks to help the rest of the group for the next few days, but after you can decide what you want to do as long as it helps everyone. " Everyone accepted and split themselves into smaller groups.

The builder group got 5 extra guys, and the guard group got 8 new ones. The four young men all went for the guard group, the females all grouped up, and were discussing what they wanted to do for now and for the future.

"When you guys decide what you want to do if you can't find me, you can talk to either Tom, Oak, Koral or Rook."

Then Ars looked at Koral, Rook, Tom and Oak. "In the next few days I might go missing, I need to work on something." Then he looked at everyone. "I would also like to ask if possible for a drop of blood from everybody." They were confused by the request but they gave one.

With that done Ars went into the cave where the machines were and then teleported into his pocket dimension. 

Ars started by thinking about what he had learned these last few days,he discovered that he didn't need to come in direct contact with the blood to collect a sample, as long as he was touching something that was in contact with the blood he could collect the sample. He discovered this when he was fighting the pirates and wanted to collect the pirates samples, but he thought it would be hard to stop to go take a sample, and it would be hard to explain what he was doing, but when the thought of collecting it appeared, it went through and he acquired the samples on his sword.

Following that he started to check the possible improvements, and tried to discover how to use the pocket dimension to increase willpower. If before he was close to 2 on body now he could have over 4 in the value on the computer, he was delighted, he also looked at two samples that were being slowly examined, those samples were from Tom and Lily. 

Apparently Lily's sample had already been partially examined but it stopped and now it was in last place, so Ars realized that his ability gave priority to shorter timers, apparently Tom blood would take two weeks to examine and lily was currently at three months and two weeks.

On the Mind side he could increase it from 1.1 to 2.5, it didn't look as big of an increase as the body but the effects would be more noticeable in the short run.

Ars was thinking if he wanted to wait another two weeks and see if Tom sample brought great changes, and then improve himself or do it now. 

After thinking about it for a while he decided to do it now, but first he would try to find a way to strengthen his willpower too.

After examining the instruments he found something, a button that was on by default, by its side it was written activate/deactivate anesthesia functions, it was activated so he deactivated it and went to the tube… Once inside the normal process started as usual, but when it reached the part where normally the machine would put him to sleep, nothing happened. To be precise, shortly after nothing unusual happened, it wasn't until an oxygen tube got in his face and liquid started pouring into the cylindrical tank that he noticed his skin starting to tingle, at the start he didn't pay too much attention to it. Finally when a gas different from oxygen came, things changed fast. 

Suddenly his lungs felt like they were on fire, his body felt like it was being ripped apart cell by cell by molten needles, his eyes felt like they were gonna pot out of his skull, and his brain felt like it was going to explode.

He couldn't scream, he couldn't escape, he was there by his choice and now he could only grit his teeth and suffer the consequences of his actions. The pain kept getting worse constantly, and it kept worsening for over an entire day, with no breaks, and after over 40 hours of suffering the pain started receding, at first it was barely noticeable but after a few hours, it made a huge difference.

When the procedure was almost done, the pain went back to the original levels, and where Ars previously thought that was hell, now he thought that this was nothing compared to the peak, and he was happy to be back here, finally after one more hour the pain was gone and he was let out of the tube.

The first thing he did was check his stats.

Ars was very split, on one side he was happy he discovered a way to improve his willpower, on the other he hated the idea of repeating the experience.

Ars decided not to think about it for now, he looked at his potential numbers and was excited, while these numbers didn't directly correlate with his current strength, they indicated his potential, how fast he would grow with ease, and how much he could grow in the future, people with lower numbers could still work hard and reach insane levels but it would take so much longer, and watching the values going from the original numbers to the current ones felt amazing.

Ars felt like he could think faster now, in the end after examining all his changes he decided it was a good time to go out and see the changes outside. 

As he was going outside, when he left the cave he realized he wasn't in a broken house anymore. Before, his place was just a broken wooden house with a bed made of leaves but now it was an actual house and he even had a fireplace and a sofa, he also had more than one room and in his room, his bed got upgraded to a normal looking wooden bed.

He was very surprised, he didn't expect such big changes to his home, but when he arrived outside he was even more surprised, there were a group of smaller houses, each one probably had just a room. The houses were well made and not the broken down houses that were previously present, for what he saw there were still not enough houses for everyone but it was a good start, there was also a dirt road that connected all houses.

Ars looked around in what now looked like a new village, but he found no one around, he decided to go to the location of the ships, and when he arrived everyone was there, apparently part of the guard group went fishing and managed to catch a really large fish.

The First to notice him was Tom, he smiled at Ars "Your majesty, did you complete what you wanted to do???" 

Ars smiled back while rolling his eyes "Yes, what i needed to do is done and i won't be needing to do it again for nearly two weeks!"

Rook came quite intoxicated and excited "Your majesty come join us at the party….", then even more excited he looked at Ars " I'M GONNA BE A UNCLE …" 

Ars looked at him then at Koral, who was also drinking and seemed to be not that off from Rook's condition. He sighed then went to Koral and took her drink away.

"HEEY!! Thief, give it back!!!!", Ars then looked at her "No, you and your brother are already way to drunk"

Then she started trying to fight back to get back her drink, but Ars just dodged and hit the back of her neck, knocking her out. Rook saw this and came trying to protect his sister, just to get knocked out himself.

Ars looked around, and everyone looked at him thinking he was going to stop the party, but since he didn't see anyone as drunk as those 2, he decided not to interfere with the party, he then asked some of the females to get some cloth so Rook and Koral could sleep on those.

Then he looked at Tom, and complimented him and Oak. "By the way, good job with the houses, when I got out I thought I was lost and had come out on the wrong island."

Tom laughed and replied happily and joked a bit "Thanks for noticing, we made a lot of small ones to make it look like we worked a lot. "

Finally they both went to enjoy the party.
