Chapter 458: Chapter 459: Journey to Impel Down

Chapter 459: Journey to Impel Down

The Rockefeller Pirates' sudden movements quickly attracted attention from all the major powers.

All eyes turned toward the Rockefeller Pirates.

Everyone wanted to see what Charlotte was planning.

Was he going to declare war on the Whitebeard Pirates?

The Big Mom Pirates and the Navy in particular were desperate to learn the truth.

But the only answer they received was: no one knows.

Carmél Island

After giving final orders, Charlotte returned to his castle.

Waiting for him inside was one of his women—Marsha.

"Charlotte!"

Seeing him rush in so urgently, Marsha couldn't help but call out in worry. Rumors had been flying around the island these past few days—even Marsha, who stayed home, had heard some of it.

"It's fine. Don't worry," Charlotte said with a gentle smile.

"How's Bright doing?" he asked.

"He just fell asleep. He's still young—loves to nap," said Elena.

Bright was the 18th son of the Rockefeller family, and the 30th child overall. Born just six months ago.

"Mm. I'll be leaving the day after tomorrow. Take care of everything while I'm gone," Charlotte told Marsha.

"Don't worry. Aren't you going to visit them?"

"I will, in a bit."

Charlotte would of course go see his newborn children.

Recently, he'd had four more kids:

Rockefeller Bright – Born December 30, 1499 – 18th son, mother: Marsha

Rockefeller Brian – Born February 1, 1500 – 19th son, mother: Wendy

Rockefeller Hannah – Born March 8, 1500 – 13th daughter, mother: Monica

Rockefeller Diana – Born March 15, 1500 – 14th daughter, mother: Sophie

Charlotte made brief visits to each of them, staying for just a moment before departing.

Two days later – Carmél Island port

At the port sat a strange-looking metal box.

Anyone who knew would immediately recognize it—it was a submarine.

Yes, the scientific division under Charlotte's command had developed it.

This was the primary vessel for the operation.

The Sea God Poseidon was too large and noticeable. The moment it left port, it would be tracked by everyone.

This mission was secret. The fewer who knew, the better.

A group of people boarded the submarine.

Among them were Charlotte, Barrett, Esdeath, Caesar, Tesla, Robert, Deidara, Klein, and Slude—the core members.

Alongside them were several elite fighters.

This operation's core focus: speed.

Everything had to be completed within two hours, before the Navy could respond.

That's where Klein and Slude's powers would be crucial.

Charlotte had carefully calculated the timing. After two hours, backup from Navy HQ would arrive. If they were entangled by then—it would be too late.

"Everyone clear on the plan?"

Charlotte asked, standing inside the submarine.

"Yes, sir!"

The crew responded in unison.

"Set sail!"

With that command, the submarine dove silently into the sea.

A major battle had begun.

Charlotte only had a few fragments of information from his past life to go on.

Impel Down was still heavily defended.

1 Chief Warden

1 Deputy Chief

2 Head Jailers

6 Jailer Beasts

Countless guards and marines

A high-difficulty target.

Charlotte's greatest concern was the Chief Warden.

He hadn't been able to find out anything—not even a name, let alone the person's ability.

The Deputy Chief, on the other hand, would become Magellan twenty years later—a known entity.

The two head jailers were also familiar: Shiryu of the Rain and Hannyabal.

The jailer beasts were minor threats—Charlotte didn't pay them much mind.

"Here's the breakdown," Charlotte began.

"Barrett will take on the Chief Warden.

Caesar—you handle the Deputy Chief.

Note: this Deputy Chief has the Poison Poison Fruit, a Paramecia-type. His toxins are deadly—stay sharp. That's why I'm bringing Naichen, the Medicine Fruit user, with us."

Yes, Charlotte had brought Naichen for backup—just in case.

Caesar nodded seriously. Poison made him nervous too.

"Esdeath, your opponent is Shiryu of the Rain. He's a swordsman—so it should be a good match."

Charlotte looked toward her.

He knew Esdeath had been pursuing the path of killing for enlightenment.

Her murderous aura had only grown over the years.

She was quite similar to Shiryu, who would one day become Blackbeard's Second Ship Commander.

Charlotte believed the two would get along… in their own way.

"Tesla, you're up against Hannyabal, the Deputy Jailer."

Charlotte turned to Tesla.

Tesla adjusted his glasses and gave a small nod. "Understood."

"As for the rest of you—Robert, Deidara, and the others—cause chaos. Free prisoners. Scatter the guards. Disrupt their structure."

Charlotte turned to the mid-tier combatants.

"Yes!"

"Understood!"

Robert and Deidara responded with confidence.

"Klein and Slude—you're with me. Our target is Level 6: Eternal Hell!"

Charlotte set up a blackboard before the crew.

The diagram on it made everyone's pupils contract.

Charlotte pointed with a long stick.

"Impel Down has six levels, all underwater. Prisoners are assigned based on bounty level.

Each floor features its own unique torture methods—earning each floor the title of a different 'Hell.'

The Entrance (Level 0): No prisoners. After the iron gate, there's a chamber for cleansing criminals with boiling water—100°C—to sterilize them.

There are also offices, security checkpoints, and a large elevator leading to the Chief Warden's office on Level 4."

Charlotte paused.

"If possible, we'll use the elevator to skip straight to Level 4 and save time."

Everyone paid close attention.

This would determine how they approached the infiltration of Impel Down.
