Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Roger's Fate
Chapter 210: Roger's Fate
A group of people arrived at the cave.
Looking into the dark interior, Buggy suddenly felt afraid.
"There won't be any dark, scary monsters in there, will there?"
Buggy clung tightly to Rayleigh's leg.
"Buggy! You're not scared, are you?"
Shanks grinned after seeing Buggy's cowardly behavior.
Seeing Shanks mocking him, Buggy immediately straightened his back.
"Idiot! How could I, the great Buggy, be afraid of some creepy darkness?"
Shanks covered his mouth, laughing quietly.
"Then go inside!"
"You bastard! Shanks, I'm going to kill you!"
Buggy, unable to hold back his anger, charged at Shanks right at the cave entrance.
"Oh, these two funny little guys," Rayleigh sighed, rubbing his forehead.
Meanwhile, Roger's attention was entirely focused on the dark cave.
"Let's go! Let's check it out!"
Roger spoke as he led the group inside, holding a simple torch.
Buggy and Shanks followed closely behind.
The cave was dark and damp, the sound of water droplets echoing eerily.
Buggy stuck close to Rayleigh, while Shanks clung to Roger.
The two boys gripped the clothes of the adults in front of them, as if that would give them some sense of security.
As they walked, they eventually stopped.
"This is…?"
Rayleigh looked at the massive gray stone in front of them, puzzled.
The stone was engraved with various unknown characters.
Roger instantly perked up upon seeing it.
Even though he couldn't understand the inscriptions, something in his heart told him they were extremely important.
"Roger! What is this?"
Rayleigh turned to Roger and asked.
But Roger seemed to be lost in thought again.
"Roger!"
Rayleigh waved his hand in front of Roger's face.
"Huh? Rayleigh, what is it?"
Roger snapped back to reality and looked at Rayleigh.
Rayleigh sighed.
"I'm asking you! What is this stone? What do these inscriptions mean?"
Rayleigh pointed to the carvings on the stone.
"I don't know either!"
Roger shook his head.
"But I keep feeling like this stone is incredibly important to me! No, not the stone—the words on it!"
Roger explained his feelings.
Then, almost unconsciously, he reached out and touched the stone.
In an instant, Roger felt as if he had traveled through time. Countless images flashed through his mind, though he had no idea what they meant.
At that same moment, an invisible black mist seeped from the stone and entered Roger's body through his hand.
Meanwhile, in Mary Geoise…
In a palace, a figure shrouded in a black robe sat on a throne.
"Gol D. Roger… have you found the Poneglyph?"
The figure murmured, its voice making it impossible to determine whether it was a man or a woman.
The figure's gaze shifted toward a massive straw hat hanging on the wall.
"It seems you've failed."
The voice whispered, as if speaking to someone unseen.
"Order the Five Elders to capture Gol D. Roger at all costs."
The commanding voice echoed through the palace.
A Divine Guard immediately left to deliver the order.
At the Five Elders' Meeting…
A Divine Guard relayed the message to the Five Elders.
Hearing the order from their superior, the Five Elders were slightly surprised. They had not expected such a direct command.
"Understood. We will do our utmost to capture Gol D. Roger."
One of the Five Elders responded.
The Divine Guard left the chamber.
"The D clan… Why has Roger suddenly drawn Lord Imu's attention?"
The bald elder asked, flipping through the dossier on the Roger Pirates.
"I don't know, but we must follow Lord Imu's orders. Let the navy handle it. They will deploy their full force to arrest Roger. If necessary, CP0 will assist."
Another elder, Saint Saturn, said while leaning on his cane.
"Agreed."
The other Five Elders nodded in approval.
The bald elder immediately contacted the Marine Headquarters.
Marine Headquarters – Fleet Admiral's Office
"Yes… yes… I understand."
Fleet Admiral Kong nodded as he listened on the Den Den Mushi.
After hanging up, he sat back in his chair, deep in thought.
"Why are they suddenly so determined to capture Roger? The Roger Pirates haven't caused any trouble in two years."
Kong was confused by the sudden urgency of the order.
Nonetheless, he called for a high-level meeting at Marine Headquarters.
Sengoku, Garp, Zephyr, and Tsuru gathered in his office.
Kong explained the orders he had received.
Bang!
"Hahahaha! Leave it to me! I'll catch that bastard Roger myself!"
Garp slammed the table, grinning with excitement.
"Sit down, you idiot!"
Kong instantly lost his temper at Garp's reaction.
"This is a serious matter! The Five Elders personally issued this order. I want all high-level forces in the navy to mobilize!"
Kong declared.
Sengoku nodded immediately.
"No problem!"
Tsuru also agreed.
Garp clapped his hands excitedly.
However, one person remained silent.
Everyone turned to look at Zephyr.
Zephyr met Kong's gaze.
"Fleet Admiral, I won't go. Ever since I became the navy's chief instructor, I've decided not to engage in battles anymore. My only duty is training the next generation of marines."
Zephyr shook his head.
"You… sigh."
Kong wanted to argue but ultimately relented.
"Fine. Focus on training the recruits."
He agreed.
Sengoku and Garp would be enough for this mission.
Kong sighed as he made his decision.
The meeting concluded, and Garp excitedly dragged Sengoku toward the South Blue.
Back in the cave…
Roger stood frozen in place.
Images flashed through his mind like a slideshow.
"Roger!"
Rayleigh called out to him.
"Ah!"
Roger murmured, snapping back to reality.
"Rayleigh! I understand now! This is the true history from 800 years ago—the hundred years of history that the World Government erased!"
Roger suddenly grabbed Rayleigh's shoulders, speaking urgently.
"Ugh! Roger, let go!"
Rayleigh groaned at Roger's excitement.
"The Poneglyph… isn't it supposed to be a treasure?"
Buggy's expression fell upon realizing it was just a stone with history.
Not the treasure he had hoped for.
"See? I told you it wasn't treasure! You got excited for nothing!"
Shanks smirked at Buggy's disappointment.
But this time, Buggy ignored him, his mood completely deflated.
"Quick! I need to make a rubbing! This will be the key to uncovering the lost century!"
Roger declared.
He pulled out a sheet of paper and began making a copy of the inscriptions.
