Coby collapsed to the ground, his body hitting the cold stone with a thud. "Coby!" Bon Kurei rushed to his side, panicked. His eyes widened as he noticed a gaping hole in Coby's stomach, blood spilling out.
"What the hell?! How did this happen?" Bon Kurei muttered, looking around for help. But the area was still in chaos from the riot they had started.
Coby groaned but managed a weak smile. "Don't worry... I'm fine," he said, his voice strained. He wasn't lying — the wound wasn't real. His schedule was moving too fast, and he needed to delay things. Ace wasn't his priority right now, but keeping the Summit War on track was. If he played his cards right, he would have access to hundreds of abilities and a massive amount of SP once Marineford erupted into chaos. The war had to happen, even if it meant Ace and Whitebeard died. Not that Coby cared much about Ace anyway.
The Newkama residents immediately rushed to Coby's aid, carrying him to a room where they laid him on a soft bed. Emporio Ivankov followed behind, keeping a close eye on him as Bon Kurei frantically explained what had happened. Coby remained still, his eyes half-closed as he planned his next moves, waiting for the right moment to act.
"I don't know what hit him, Iva-chan, but it's bad! We have to do something!" Bon Kurei was pacing, his concern clear.
Ivankov leaned over Coby, eyes narrowing as he examined the wound. "This one's tough. But I'll do what I can. Hormone surgery should stabilize him. Prepare the medical tools!"
As the residents hurried to fetch supplies, Coby listened, tuning out the noise around him. His thoughts drifted. "I wonder if Kuma listened to my suggestion. If he did, this trip will be worth it. If not, it's all wasted. But I couldn't leave it to chance."
Ivankov began his treatment, injecting healing hormones into Coby's body, the procedure causing some pain but doing its job. Bon Kurei watched anxiously from the corner. "Coby! Hold on! Iva-chan's the best! You'll be up in no time!"
[Skill Scan initiated on 'Horu Horu no Mi (Horm-Horm Fruit)'. Analysis in progress… The Horu Horu no Mi is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that grants the ability to manipulate hormones, allowing the user to alter a person's body structure, biological functions, and mental state. This includes gender transformation, boosting or suppressing physical capabilities, accelerating healing, and even inducing emotional shifts. Advanced techniques can enhance combat performance, such as Tension Hormones, which grant a temporary surge in energy even when fatally wounded, and Healing Hormones, which can rapidly treat severe injuries at the cost of long-term stamina. The ability also allows external modifications, making it an invaluable tool for both combat and medical applications. Due to its versatility, life-altering effects, and enhancement capabilities, this is considered a highly unique and powerful Devil Fruit. Estimated cost for full acquisition: 280,000 SP. Please confirm if you wish to proceed with the Skill Scan and acquisition.]
Coby let out a small groan, his body responding to Ivankov's hormone injections. His energy was slowly returning, but he wasn't about to let them know just yet. He needed time to process everything, get his strategy straight. The chaos in Impel Down was growing, and soon, the real work would begin.
Ivankov stepped back, wiping sweat from his brow. "There. He'll need to rest, but the healing should kick in soon enough." He turned to Bon Kurei, his eyes narrowing. "What exactly happened, Bon-chan? You didn't tell me the full story."
Hours later when Coby 'came to be', he got up from his bed and approached Ivankov, keeping his tone tired. "I have a message from an old friend of yours. Big fella. Can we talk in private?"
Ivankov raised an eyebrow, intrigued. He gestured for Coby to follow him into a nearby room, the noise of the Newkama Land fading as they moved away from the crowd. Once inside, Ivankov turned to face Coby, his curiosity evident. "Alright, spill it."
Coby wasted no time, started to bullshit. "Kuma told me about you. Said there was a rumor you would be here."
Ivankov's eyes widened slightly. "Kuma? He said that?"
Coby nodded. After Kuma sent the crew all around the world, his mind would be removed, and he would turn into a full robot anyway. No one could falsify his claims. Coby then said, "My captain, the son of Monkey D. Dragon, has a brother in this prison—Ace. I know you're a Revolutionary, just like Kuma."
Ivankov was certain now Coby was telling the truth. Many knew Ivankov was a Revolutionary, but few knew Kuma was one too. Still, the revelation shook him.
"D-Dragon has a son?" Ivankov asked, his eyes widening.
Coby nodded. "Yeah, Monkey D. Luffy. He's my captain."
Ivankov blinked in disbelief. "And he has a brother? That means he's Dragon's son too?"
Coby didn't correct him, letting the misunderstanding slide. "Ace is the Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates. He's scheduled for public execution soon."
Ivankov's jaw dropped. "Whitebeard will never let that happen."
Coby nodded again. "Exactly. But that's why I'm here. We need to move fast."
Ivankov began pacing, muttering under his breath. "Dragon… Will he get involved too? I can't sit idle in this prison any longer."
Coby saw his chance. "Let's get to the sixth floor."
Ivankov paused, giving Coby a sharp look. "You've got guts, kid. But you're right. If Ace is about to be executed, it's going to turn the world upside down." He smirked, "I've been itching to shake things up around here anyway."
They hurried through the hidden passage, moving deeper into Impel Down. Bon Kurei followed closely, barely able to contain his excitement. "Iva-chan, you're really going to do it?!" he squealed.
Ivankov grinned widely, his eyes gleaming. "Oh, it's going to be Hee-Haw!!"
They descended quickly, each level colder and more oppressive than the last. The sixth floor, the Eternal Hell, held the worst of the worst—pirates so dangerous that the world preferred to forget they existed. The air was thick with tension, and the prisoners in their cells were a dangerous breed, many of them staring at Coby and Ivankov with murderous intent.
"Alright, we're here," Coby said as they stepped onto the cold stone floor of Level Six. "This is where the real monsters are locked up."
Ivankov glanced around. "No kidding. Some of these guys make the rest of Impel Down look like child's play."
When they reached Ace's cell, it was empty. Only Jinbei remained, bruised and bloodied, chained to the wall. The Fishman raised his head as the door creaked open. His eyes settled on Coby, assessing him for a brief moment.
"You... Are you the Vice-Captain of Ace's brother?" Jinbei asked, his voice rough.
Coby nodded. "That's right."
Jinbei shook his head with a tired sigh. "You're too late. I reckon they already took Ace to Marineford."
Coby frowned, 'clenched his fist in desperation'. "Damn it… then I have to get to Marineford."
Jinbei looked at him in surprise, then his expression softened. "Please... Take me with you. I beg of you. I owe Whitebeard my life, and I can't stand by."
Without hesitation, Coby pulled out a wax key, and quickly unlocked Jinbei's shackles. "You're free. Let's go."
Jinbei stood, wincing slightly as he stretched his stiff limbs. Before they could move, a familiar, grating voice echoed through the cell block.
"Kuhahahaha... Long time no see, Copy Ninja."
Coby turned to see Crocodile standing behind the bars of his own cell, his scowl as sharp as ever. The former Warlord leaned casually against the wall, but his eyes were locked onto Coby with keen interest.
"Heh, I was wondering where they holed you up," Coby said, smirking.
Crocodile's expression darkened slightly, but he didn't rise to the bait. "I'm interested in that war. I'll help you get out of here, and in exchange, you release me. What do you say?"
Coby feigned hesitation, glancing at Jinbei and then back at Crocodile. Before he could respond, Ivankov stepped forward, arms crossed, his large head tilted to the side as he scrutinized the situation. "Release him. I can keep him in line," Ivankov said, a sharp glint in his eyes. "We have a history."
Crocodile shot Ivankov a glare but didn't protest. Coby nodded, unlocking Crocodile's cell with another wax key. As Crocodile stepped out, he remained calm, keeping his distance from Ivankov, who watched him closely.
After Crocodile's release, other prisoners started begging for their freedom, promising rewards and alliances. But Coby ignored their pleas, moving quickly through the remaining cells, scanning for anyone useful.
