Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Will they never meet again?

Previous chapter recap:-

He got one shotted by Chinjao but at least he managed to train his observation haki somewhat.

###

Lucius jolted awake, he steadied his breathing while his vision adjusted to the dimly lit hospital room, the morning light filtering through the gaps in the curtains of this unfamiliar room.

His cautious gaze softened when he spotted Amara, his mother, asleep beside his bed. She leaned gently against the mattress, her purplish hair cascading over her shoulders, her breathing calm and rhythmic. Even in her sleep, she was worrying over him.

*I am glad I had reincarnated.* Lucius thought emotionally. He couldn't have asked for a mother better than her.

After calming down his turbulent emotions, Lucius tried to remember what happened. *Right... Chinjao knocked me out with a punch* He thought with a bitter smile forming on his face.

He had anticipated that outcome, experiencing it firsthand however was another thing entirely. But he still did it because he knew it would make his body stronger after recovering. An odd genetic quirk he noticed was possible previously.

He quickly shook his head to get rid of any 'Kaido skydiving' idea for now, instead he slowly grabbed his diary that he had spotted near a table next to his bed, trying to make sure his mother didn't wake up in the process.

His fingers gently traced the familiar pages that he had revised countless times, every few days he would reread them as a way to reaffirm his otherworldly knowledge.

Minutes slowly ticked away while he was engrossed in reading,Right as he had reached a portion dedicated to Firearms His observation Haki sensed subtle movement.

His mother had woken up.

He put his diary down and smiled sweetly to his mother before asking "Good morning, Mum, Did you sleep well?"

Who sleepily nodded, quickly however her eyes widened in realization. "Lucius! You are awake! How is your body?" She immediately asked with concern.

"I feel better but there are some spots where it aches." Lucius answered back while touching the ridges of his bandages.

"You should feel better in a week or so" Amara commented with relief after probing his body with observation haki and checking his pulse to be sure.

Lucius leaned back into his bed and leisurely asked "How long have I slept for and what happened during it?"

"You slept for about 3 days" Amara mentioned, after pondering she added "While you were asleep Roger and Chinjao ended up fighting 2 days ago. And As expected Chinjao lost. Afterwards both had a drink while sulking about not being able to fight at their fullest."

Lucius humorously commented. "I am sure, he got scolded by you afterwards." Causing Amara to sigh in exasperation "I still think he shouldn't have drank that much, It will hasten up his disease"

"Oh Right, Wei after learning that I am a great doctor from that blabbermouth Gaban Kindly requested my help to examine his father's head injury" Amara suddenly mentioned after remembering with a furrowed face.

"Lahahaha" Lucius laughed while clutching his stomach, already imagining what he must have said and as expected Amara continued complaining with mild annoyance yet amusement "That troublesome womanizer has a silver tongue, Hearing what he said, some might even think I could resurrect the dead."

After calming his laughter down, Lucius asked curiously "So did you agree?"

Amara nodded "Of course, Chinjao's Injury isn't that serious, He just needed to massage his forehead everyday with a special oil I conducted and have a specific diet until full recovery. Thankfully most of the ingredients were easily obtainable aside from some Grandline herbs."

Right as Lucius was about to continue the conversation, They both picked up a familiar signature walking towards their location.

They glanced at each other with a bitter smile. "How much of the breakfast do you think is left?" Lucius asked with amusement.

"I would be surprised if she actually left any" Amara replied back while holding her arms, Their gaze now towards the infirmary door.

##

"Amara-Chi doesn't eat that much anyways.." Ginny mumbled to herself for the nth time accompanied by another crunch of a meat piece she was holding.

Soon she reached the infirmary door and swung it open casually with a rolling table filled with dishes, well.. as filled as it can be.. A good portion of the food had already vanished as they had predicted.

"Good to see you can still eat a lot, Sis," She heard a familiar voice say, drawing her attention and causing her to pause for a moment.

She blinked and instinctively replied back "Oh, hey, Luci-chi…" But her brain froze soon processed the situation, her eyes dramatically widened and she pointed an accusatory finger at him. "Luci-chi, you're alive?!"

"Thanks for your concern." Lucius sarcastically replied back, Inducing a muffled giggle to come from his mother.

Ginny laughed heartily as well, Remarking "Good to see, You are still feeling happy after that" She quickly plopped down on a nearby bed after dragging the rolling table nearby. After a moment of hesitation, she asked "Are you gonna eat…?"

"You can have it. not like there is enough there for me" Lucius replied without any concern, he knew His mom would definitely make the whole kitchen work to feed him very soon.

Just as Lucius expected, Amara hastenedly stood up and said "I will go tell the kitchen to prepare breakfast for you."

"Thank you Mum" Lucius said, His gaze turned shifted towards Ginny who had begun rambling

"Let me tell you, This place has some really good food. you gotta try them later, They have so many different dishes! The dumpling thingies had the softest filling, and the crispy rolls were just! And that spicy curry.." by the time she finished she was already beginning to salivate.

Lucius narrowed his eyes and flatly asked "Did you overspend again?" Causing Ginny to shift uncomfortably before she mumbled a small "N-No" but still feeling Lucius's intense gaze she folded and exclaimed "Kuma-chi told me I can use his allowance!"

"That better be the case." Lucius finally said, much to Ginny's Relief. In a haste to change the topic she gestured toward the Rolling table, which had an assortment of familiar yet unexpected dishes. "Look at this! Doesn't this remind you of something?"

After taking a glance, Lucius recognized them as foods from his previous world "I presume that means the deal went through?"

Ginny nodded, lazily picking up and taking a bite. "Yeah, Although I wasn't present during it, Kuma-chi told me, They agreed to let us open those fast food restaurants you mentioned, They will take 15% of our yearly profits for protection and tax."

*Fifteen percent.. is quite reasonable, I had expected they would ask double that amount initially.* Lucius thought with relief, He began pondering deeply *Using Chinjao's influence in West blue I could expand my businesses faster.. afterall no matter the world, whoever controls the economy, still controls the flow of it.*

It was one of his primary reasons behind joining The Roger Pirates, Lucius hoped to locate crucial locations where he could build his shops at. He primarily started with the food industry because it was one of his home turf in his previous life so he knew a lot about cooking and food in general.

Although he had to modify a lot of the ingredients due to the difference in flora and fauna, but he still managed to keep the core deliciousness of each dish.

Additionally, because 'Lights of Revolution,' was handling all the inner workings, Lucius would eventually establish one of the largest information broker in this world.

*I will let Mum and big bro talk to Chinjao about this* Lucius decided after contemplating it thoroughly. *Should I contact Doflamingo for North blue? Although he is arrogant but I have to say he is a capable businessman..*

Lucius shook his head to rid himself of those distracting thoughts. He asked Ginny "So, which island are we heading out to next?"

"Probably Ohara." Ginny answered after contemplating.

##

Far away, in the once-thriving sorbet kingdom, now devastation can be seen in every direction.

The streets were eerily silent, the remnants of houses and buildings once bustling with life now stood as hollowed-out ruins. The air was still pungent with the scent of burnt buildings and charred corpses.

Amidst that, in the southeast of this abandoned island,A single man stood in front of a broken church, his large figure casting a shadow over the rubble. His bizarre indigo afro shook as he trembled with anger and sadness, his teeth gritted, tears streaming down his face.

"What happened here Buru?!" Emporio Ivankov bellowed with his fists clenched, his cracked voice echoing through this silent graveyard.

He had finally come to visit his old friends. He was going to tell them of the kingdom he had founded, a haven for misfits and outcasts. But instead what he found was a scary realization that perhaps they would never meet again.

"No! Last I checked, Amara's bounty was still active. That means.. she is alive!!" Ivankov exclaimed after remembering. His heart pounded in his chest.

if she was alive, then… perhaps the others were alive too?

A small flicker of hope ignited inside his turbulent heart.

"I must find out the truth!" He exclaimed, then his voice turned cold as he vowed "And if something did happen to them.. then I swear on my life that I will make those responsible pay heavily… Buru!"

A week later, Ivankov's search led him deeper into the ruined island for any clues until he found the capital city.

Unlike the outskirts, the capital was in even worse condition, burned beyond recognition, reduced to broken shambles as though it was continually bombarded.

And yet… amidst the destruction, something caught his eye.

Graffiti.

Not random scribbles, but deliberate markings on the walls.

*"Viva la revolución!"*

*"Kindness is Justice!"*

Each one bore the same symbol—a purple lotus flower.

Ivankov's eyes widened in recognition, He had seen that symbol before, It was part of A rising revolutionary organization spreading through south blue.

*The Lights of Revolution.*

Ivankov's heart quickened. *Maybe they have the answer to my questions..*

Author's note:-

I am suspicious if I am getting bad omen everytime I start a fanfic because I got sick again these past few days like I did previously while writing my fanfic.

Anyways, I am currently sick and I wasted the last week trying to research about hxh franchise because I wanted to make a hxh fanfic which caused me to focus more on that than actually write a chapter lol.

I initially wanted to upload 2 chapters today but my brain could barely function and think as you can see by the low word count in this chapter.

To the point. I asked for help editing the chapter from my close friend, Ramenlord.

For now, I will take a break and hopefully I can upload two chapters next week, Sorry if this was a disappointing chapter to read.

Byebye stay safe and hydrated and healthy (unlike me)
