Chapter 16: Chapter 16: A smile kept hidden within me.
*Compressed summary of this story so far for old readers, skip this portion if you are binge reading.*
Our protagonist had died while pulling some crazy shit, He was reincarnated as a baby during the God's Valley incident.
Dw he only gained enough memory to realize he is a reincarnator but most of the memories were kept sealed until he grew older to avoid those clique of "Boohoo, I can't act like a kid and have fun because I was an adult"
Anyways… He is half Lunarian, Half D clan member. He is 8'1 feet tall, currently around 9 years old. He has a Jojo stand that lets him see 'Fortune' and 'Misfortune'. His name is Baruch D. Lucius which translates to "Blessed Light" The title of this fanfic.
Roger decided to find Lucius when he just turned 7 years old. He trained the basics of Haki with Rayleigh along with Kuma and Ginny. Soon some shit happened with King Bekori being delusional and the Sorbet Kingdom was "Erased From History". It got nuked.
Don't worry, Lucius managed to save around 200k people while 2 million people died. He founded the Revolutionary army but named it "Lights of Revolution". In actuality it was merely him building his future grand fleet for when he becomes a Yonko and it's easier to assimilate kingdoms… all according to his plan.
He also located a new island for his base and to relocate those refugees that have a bone to pick with the world government now.
It's somewhere in the Calm belt. For future arc spoilers, I will only say it's the calm belt that leads to west blue. There he found two devil fruits on that island, Luck Luck no mi which his stand ate and gained an upgrade while the other is unknown that he decided to keep it safe for one of his future crewmates.
Because He is already quite powerful without devil fruit. Oh also he didn't gain the devil fruit weaknesses despite his stand which is an angel ate it. (Plot reasons dw about it)
What else? Oh right, he joined Roger pirates to learn more about how to run a crew.. nah that's bullshit his upgraded stand ability allows him to leach on Rogers 'Fortune' then converting it into his own 'Fortune', Dw, Roger passively spawns them so he doesn't need them. He will die anyways.
Currently they are in Kano country, where happo navy exists. In the Previous chapter Lucius defeated Chinjao's son Wei quite easily (Oc since his son wasn't named and stuff), then boldy changed to fight chinjao and all of happo navy all by himself. This chapter is the continuation of that.
Also His father is Gjon the lunarian, he is with Kaido after escaping that research lab, His mother is Baruch D. Amara, the one who's surname he took. Amara is a Prodigious Sniper+ Herbal doctor, also a member of Roger's crew now.
Here's the Bounties for them
[Baruch D. Amara 'The Grim Reaper'] [Dead Or Alive] [Bounty: 1,666,320,310]
[John 'The Fallen King'] [Dead or Alive] [Bounty: 1,319,121,400], he ate a mythical Zoan btw. model Lucifer.
Anyways now back to the chapter, sorry for the yap, I thought this was needed for a refresher.

The night air was thick with cigarette smoke and the stench of alcohol, but people living in Germany had long gotten used to it.
Especially after the fall of the Berlin Wall, which had caused a massive influx of illegal migration from East Germany to West Germany, all for another chance in life.
Unfortunately, the Cold War, despite having ended, left behind devastating effects. Unemployment was at an all-time high, causing many to turn to alcohol and drugs as a way to escape this harsh reality.
And taking advantage of this period, many Toms, Dick, and Harry had tried to walk the path of crime, dreaming of becoming a mob boss. But rarely did they last long enough to establish their own Mafioso family, at least.. until today.
#
In a narrow, dark alleyway, where the dim street lights barely reached the end, quite a common situation was playing out.
Three teenagers stood cornered against a graffiti-covered wall, their faces tense as they endured the taunts and shoves of four local wannabe mobsters, and they weren't much older than their victims, just merely between 15 and 17 years of age.
What gave them confidence was the fact that they had weapons, and this was just another incident in a city that turned a blind eye to such *racism.*
"Go back to where you came from, Fuckin rats" A young teenager who appeared to be the Leader said with a sneer on his face before he harshly shoved one of them against the wall.
And his lackeys merely looked on with relish, snickering at their cowardly behavior.
But none of the teens fought back, Opting instead to tightly clenching their hands so their frustration could be suppressed.
Because They knew better. In this city, it wasn't about what was fair anymore, it was about who to blame for all the problems and they fit the mark merely for being immigrants who came from that side of the wall.
But everyone was unaware of a lone figure silently watching this incident playout. A teenager, perhaps between 14 and 15, dressed in a worn-out hoodie and jeans. Holding a worn out blanket which was filled with something he had perhaps picked up, His face was unreadable in the dim light.
After some contemplation, the boy discreetly placed his blanket bag nearby before grabbing something hard from within, then he steadily walked forward. Each of his steps were measured and deliberate, resembling how a soldier would walk.
"Hm?" The leader of this wannabe gang thought he heard something so he turned his head, His eyes barely spotting a boy in the dark who was surprisingly already quite close to him.
Feeling mildly irritatedly for being interrupted He aggressively asked "The fuck you wan-"
*Thwack*
But he didn't even get to finish his sentence before he felt an excruciating pain coming from his jaw. He let out a strangled gasp, stumbling backward but he didn't have any time to react, that boy had already pounced and tackled him to the ground.
He felt That boy's cold hands, now soaked in his own blood, repeatedly jagging something sharp deeper into his throat.
Wet, gurgling sounds filled the alley as their leader thrashed beneath that boy but the boy didn't stop. They were too shocked to even ponder what face that boy was making, but if they had seen it, then perhaps they would have felt their scalp go cold
But their leader had barely seen it, that face.. that face was not that of a boy, there was no rage, no satisfaction.. just a cold stare as that boy claimed his life. Just like an efficient killer without any emotions… as if that boy… no That monster had claimed another life before.
Everyone finally snapped out of their shock but it was already too late. That boy quietly sat atop their leader's lifeless body.
His hoodie was now stained red. His breath was slow, measured, as if nothing had happened. His hands stealthily rummaged their leader's body.
Their hearts thumped with an unspeakable anxiety and fear, never would they have thought, their actions would escalate to the point of their leader's death. Sure they bullied others but they alway tried rationalizing it with their flimsy excuses.
And now, they paid the price for their actions.
Their eyes darted between their now dead leader and the boy who had just killed him. Their muscles tensed when they saw that boy stop moving, they heard a cold indifferent voice say
"*Get out.*"
Silence gripped the alley for a few moments. Causing a sense of uncertainty to hang in the air, Before anyone could react, the oldest of the gang and closest to their leader snapped out of it and angrily shouted "Fuck you!" before He reached into his jacket and pulled out a pocket knife.
But he couldn't do anything because he felt something metallic hit his head hard.
*THUD!*
"ugh.." The bulky boy staggered with pain, dropping his knife onto the pavement. one of the victims swiftly picked it up with trembling hands and holding it defensively.
Another One of the victims was now seen holding a trash lid with trembling hands. He had acted by instinct when he noticed that guy's aggressive movements.
The remaining two lackeys were torn between hot-blooded revenge and their own safety. Their leader was already dead, Their strongest fighter was barely conscious, and now.. they were outnumbered.
Then a deafening *Click* was heard in the Alleyway. All eyes darted towards the sound, their breathing hitched when they met a pair of cold eyes.
That boy stood there, now holding a revolver with his blood dipped hands. The dull steel glinted in the dim light, its barrel aimed directly at the two remaining lackeys. His grip was steady. His expression, unreadable.
For a long moment, no one moved. Then, in the same tone as before that boy muttered "One last chance. Take your friend and get out."
The two lackeys scrambled to their wounded companion and quickly dragged him to his feet before stumbling away from this accursed alleyway.
As their footsteps faded, the alley fell silent once more.
The boy let out a deep exhale he was holding, he slowly lowered his revolver, Something that he had looted from their leader. It was one of his deciding factors that compelled him to take these risks.
He turned to look at the three boys he had saved. Their eyes were filled with nervous anticipation. After a moment of contemplation he finally spoke "You can either leave or help me dispose of this body, the choice is yours, all I ask is for you to remain silent."
The three boys glanced at each other, seeing that eager agreement in their eyes, one of them came forward and cautiously asked "What do you want us to do, Brother..?"
What they saw was a slight smile appear on that face which they thought could only be that of a cold-hearted killer but what truly made this moment memorable for them was the words this boy had said to them. "I don't care what you did before we met but since you have called me your brother, I will treat you like family as long as you don't betray me."
*Family.*
A word that was both foreign yet familiar to them, spoken by a boy around the same age as them Yet.. it filled their heart with indescribable warmth they didn't know they could still feel.
They felt they had finally found home.
#
The world at large didn't know the impact of this unremarkable incident taking place during 1994, West Germany, inside a dark alleyway.
A caterpillar had finally shed its cocoon and had chosen to become a butterfly, yet the very first flap of its wings had invertedly caused a storm to start brewing. And at the center of this storm was this young boy named Lukas.
A name that would soon instill fear and admiration in every criminal's heart.

*Back to the future-*
##
The entire area was filled with Happy Navy's painful groans and moans, they remained scattered across the ground, feeling too exhausted to move another inch.
Some had already fainted from sheer fatigue, while others from Lucius's calculated KO.
The evening air now smelled of both sweat and blood.
Chinjao was speechless to say the least. Although he didn't expect any of his subordinates to take down Lucius, he had at least expected some sort of resistance from them.
Lucius's red eyes gazed at Chinjao, his chest rising and falling in a controlled rhythm. Despite His body now aching he felt an adrenaline rush through his body after seeing Chinjao finally coming towards him.
"Brat.. I have to say, using my men to recover your stamina was impressive, But.." Chinjao cracked his knuckles, veins popping on his forehead. He continued with a wide angry smile. "Don't think that will be of any help against me!"
". ." Lucius only smiled bitterly. He didn't expect Chinjao to be shameless enough to use the human wave tactic, so he had cautiously tried preserving his stamina.
After letting out a deep exhale he adjusted his stance. His legs now bounced around after cracking his neck. He calmed his mind and focused on using his observation haki.
Chinjao, when he didn't get any response, coldy snorted and said "Hmph, Don't start crying later." His arms then visibly darkened. He adjusted his right hand in a specific motion that made it look like a black drill before he jumped and struck Lucius within the blink of an eye.
"Taste my [Mountain Driller]!" Chinjao shouted but his eyes quickly widened in surprise to see Lucius narrowly avoiding his drill attack. His attack had now drilled into the spot where Lucius previously stood. Causing a big hole to start forming.
But that didn't stop Chinjao's Momentum, His years of experience quickly let him deduct, Lucius had used observation haki. so his left hand had already moved toward Lucius trying to land a hit.
Yet, Lucius dodged his attack once more, over time Chinjao grew mildly Irritated. So he asked "Do you only know how to dodge like a coward?" snarkily while still trying to land a hit on Lucius.
Lucius didn't reply immediately but instead concreted on dodging because He had never intended to fight chinjao Head-on,he knew a single strike would cause him to lose the fight almost instantly so he used this opportunity to hone his haki mastery.
The battle continued, to the point the sun had already set, but thankfully both the happo navy and Roger Pirates had already brought out lanterns and spotlights.
Chinjao swung with the force of a mountain but Lucius, despite feeling his stamina wane, had still managed to hold on this long due to one of his stand Ability called [Misfortune detector] Along Geppo and Soru.
*He's growing stronger through this fight..* Chinjao thought as he threw another drill attack, Only for Lucius to slip past it with even greater ease than before.
Chinjao had long since noticed Lucius's Hidden agenda but it didn't stop him from taking this fight seriously rather, Chinjao felt amazed by Lucius to point that he was beginning to respect this boy.
*Is this because of Roger? No... This is all his own talent* Chinjao thought with a pang of regret. If he had found Lucius before Roger did then perhaps He could return to his glory days. *But alas..* Chinjao thought, looking at the somewhat exhausted Lucius. *His age is holding him back*
Chinjao smiled and snidely suggested "Why don't you surrender, brat? It's obvious that I will win at this point."
Lucius, now huffing, Cheekily replying back "Why don't you let me win? What would people say if you won against a kid."
Chinjao barked out a hearty laugh and shamelessly said, "They will say, I am a great elder who helped educate the younger generation."
Their fight continued becoming even more intense to the point Lucius's movements began to wane, his breathing becoming more rigid and His body ached, but his eyes never lost that calmness.
*Chinjao needs to win.* Lucius thought with finality. He had gained what he could from this fight, so although he could still win because of his stand, he knew this wasn't a fight to the death that he needed to win.
And so, Lucius deliberately made the smallest of miscalculations. Chinjao, noticing it, didn't hesitate. He lunged forward, his Drill Fist driving straight into Lucius's gut.
But Lucius wasn't about to go down without launching a haki coated punch directly into Chinjao's face
*BOOOM!* *CRACK~*
Lucius felt an excruciating pain throughout his body before blackness came immediately after. The only thought he could muster was *So this is what Luffy fel-*

Right before their fists connected, Amara had already rushed towards the spot she foresaw would allow her to catch Lucius's body..
She saw Lucius's body swatted through the air for sometime before he was firmly wrapped in Her embrace. Even then she dug her legs deep into the ground before finally they managed to stop and stabilize.
The fight was finally over.
Chinjao stood tall before exhaling out, *That brat put some force in that last Punch* Chinjao thought, still feeling a slight sting on his face. *Not bad… Before I could just shrug it off.*
Then He looked in Lucius' direction in the distance. a small smirk tugged at his lips. *You planned this, didn't you, brat?-*
But before Chinjao could contemplate further, He felt a deadly oppressive Aura press on him along with a cold pair of blue eyes stare back.
*Ah, of course his mother has it.* Chinjao cursed inwardly but outwardly he didn't give up; rather he released his own Conqueror's haki that clashed with that Purplish Aura.
Very rapidly, The clouds quickly formed and started grumbling as if it had experienced diarrhea.
The two oppressive forces pressed against each other, Neither willing to compromise, Chinjao felt surprised Amara was managing to hold it against him but quickly his face became sour.
"Oi Roger! Don't gang up on me!" Chinjao barked out towards Oro Jackson, Where Roger was smiling 'innocently', pretending to be clueless and shouting back "Huh? Did you say something Chinjao?"
Chinjao's mouth twitched at their shameless behavior. *The kid started it though...* He thought but didn't say it out loud, Fearing the eager looking Rayleigh might join in.
Finally letting out a grumble, Chinjao Slowly retracted his Conqueror's haki. He felt relief to know the other two had also started retracting it.
Amara didn't give Chinjao another glance and Gently knelt beside Lucius, her fingers already checking his pulse, her gaze sharp as she assessed his injuries. "He will be fine" she announced, her voice laced with relief.
Chinjao crossed his arms with amusement before accidentally blurting out "Hmph. Tough kid."
Which he immediately regretted saying when he felt Amara's Glare again but now with extra sharp words "I should put a bullet between your legs for hitting my son that hard."
Cold sweat streaked down Chinjao's back, He hurriedly said "I was just praising the kid. He has the best talent I have seen!"
Amara snorted and focused back on cleaning Lucius's body with alcohol to disinfect the wounds. That's when she noticed Lucius's faint smile, unconsciously she also started smiling because she knew that smile.
That was a smile of genuine contentment.

Author's note:-
🗣️ your favorite procrastinating author is back and feeling more motivated to write chapters.
Anyways jokes aside, Sorry for waiting so long to release a chapter, I was going through a writer's block and also felt depressed before to the point of contemplating that I should drop this fanfic.
But my good friend, Ramenlord told me to keep the fanfic active but in a hiatus state until I make a final decision. Which you can tell I chose to continue writing. So special thanks to him, Btw he and I wrote a Marvel fanfic.
He was also the one who taught me more about writing and what is important in a story. You can probably notice the difference between the previous chapter and this chapter writing style.
Anyways thank you for reading, if you have any feedback, please do comment.
Current schedule: At least 2 chapters per week around 9am central. No chapters on Friday and Saturday.
