One Piece: Alucard the Immortal

Chapter 39: The Power of the Black Gun

"Let's go quickly, Olvia!"

Inside the clothing store, the other members of the archaeological team urged Olvia, who was still on the ground.

"M-mm!"

Olvia nodded rapidly, then quickly got up and followed her companions, swiftly leaving. Before departing, she cast one last glance at Alucard, who was several hundred meters away, battling Devon.

Regardless of his intentions, he had helped her out of a tight spot. At least deep down, Olvia felt a sliver of gratitude towards Alucard.

PFFT!

Just then, Devon seized an opportunity and stabbed Alucard through the shoulder. But before she could revel in her triumph, Alucard not only didn't cry out in pain or shriek, but instead let out an excited laugh. "Beautiful, female pirate!"

He swung the greatsword in his hand back around.

Seeing this, Devon promptly released her spear and sidestepped, avoiding Alucard's strike.

The greatsword slammed heavily into the ground, gouging a deep black crack into the earth. Devon seized the moment, stepped her left foot forward, and pulled the spear from Alucard's shoulder.

She saw it again: Alucard's shoulder, which had been pierced with a massive bloody hole, was regenerating and reforming. No matter where he was attacked, his wounds would heal; he simply couldn't be killed.

WHOOSH!

A surge of sword energy, a violent gust of wind, swept forth with the force of a thousand charging soldiers, once again assailing Devon. She held her spear horizontally to block, then retreated a dozen meters, deflecting the sword energy into the clouds, causing a sudden roar in the sky.

"I see now. I fully believe you defeated that idiot Pizarro," Devon said, looking up.

"Captain! The Marines are heading this way!"

"Let's evacuate, Captain!"

At this point, the Devon Pirates' crew members shouted at Devon. This was a major trade city, and the Marines' deployment efficiency was not something ordinary cities could compare to. The Marines arrived unexpectedly quickly.

"I know!"

Devon grunted in annoyance, then met Alucard's gaze. Looking at the man's ferocious smile, she frowned, then smirked, "But I don't think this guy will let me go."

"All together!"

"Kill him and let's go!"

"We're almost at Sabaody Archipelago, we can't fall here!"

All of the Devon Pirates swarmed forward. The Devon Pirates weren't as numerous as Pizarro's Evil Gang Pirates; there were only about fifty of them, which, while not a small number, paled in comparison to the Evil Gang Pirates.

ROOOOAR!!

Suddenly, a furious roar echoed. One of the Devon Pirates had transformed into a brown giant bear, nearly five meters tall. It opened its gaping maw as if to swallow Alucard whole.

"A Zoan user, are you?"

Alucard chuckled softly. After backing up a few meters, before anyone could clearly see how he had switched weapons, a gun fired.

The massive body of the Zoan user stiffened instantly, staring blankly down at his own body. Blood continuously streamed, and looking ahead, he saw Alucard holding a large black handgun in his left hand, white smoke curling from its barrel, and a spent casing hitting the ground with a crisp "CLANG."

'No, impossible!'

The Zoan user roared internally. He had endured countless bullet attacks before, but never had a bullet penetrated his flesh. Forget machine guns, how could a mere handgun possess such power!?

BANG!

The Black Gun Jackal fired again.

Unlike the White Gun Casull, it couldn't fire in rapid succession; each shot had to be fired individually. But the immense impact force continuously pushed the Zoan user's massive bear body backward.

Finally, after taking three shots, his body could no longer endure, and he collapsed, convulsing uncontrollably. Without immediate medical attention, he would likely die within minutes.

"A pity. If they were Seastone bullets, one shot would be enough to send you to the next world," Alucard grumbled, his voice audible only to himself.

"T-Turk was taken down! Just like that?!"

The other members of the Devon Pirates shouted in disbelief. Turk Serd, one of the main combatants of the Devon Pirates, was one of the strongest members on the ship, second only to Captain Catarina Devon. Yet, he had been defeated so easily.

THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP...

Suddenly, loud running footsteps reached both sides. Vice Admiral Pernest Joseph Gold, stationed in St. Poplar, arrived with his men. From the sound of the footsteps, there were hundreds, no, three hundred? Or perhaps... five hundred?

Before either Alucard or Devon could react, the street ahead and behind them was completely surrounded by Marines.

The first row consisted of riflemen, kneeling on one knee, aiming their rifles at everyone in the middle. Behind them stood various Marines with swords, ready for battle, awaiting orders.

"Tch!"

Devon spat, then said to Alucard, "Hey! Dracula D. Alucard! I can't deal with you this time. It's too early, and now's not the time to keep fighting. How about we both concede a step? I'm pulling out!"

"Hahaha..."

Alucard lowered his head, his shoulders twitching with laughter for a few moments, then glanced sideways. "Ah... the fighting atmosphere is gone. I'm very sleepy this early in the morning. I suppose I'll go back to sleep for now."
