Netkama Punch!!!

chapter 49

At first, I really did mean to just drink a little. It’s not like I was planning to sleep over, and since Shin Heejae was drinking too, he obviously wouldn’t be able to drive me home.
So I figured I’d just play along for a bit, then catch a taxi back. That’s why I was sipping at my drink, barely wetting my throat while holding the glass.

“Noona, have you tried this?”
Right around then, Shin Heejae suddenly came over with soju. He said he was gonna make some kind of honey cocktail or whatever. He started by pouring soju into a beer glass, then topped it off with a splash of beer, filling it to the brim before handing it to me.
Honestly, I had no intention of drinking the whole thing. Part of me was like, ‘What even is this?’ So I took a sip without expecting anything.

“Noona, your eyes just got huge.”
“……”
But it was actually really good. Just soju with a bit of beer, and it tasted like this? I was so surprised that I took a few more sips. Even when Heejae teased me for it, I didn’t get annoyed—it was that sweet.

Maybe that’s where it all started.
Barely touching the snacks and just drinking the honey cocktail.
At the time, I didn’t even feel like I was getting drunk. But by the time I’d finished three glasses, I was starting to feel a bit dizzy. Meanwhile, Shin Heejae kept pushing chicken to my lips, telling me to eat more.

“……I think I’m getting drunk.”
“Yeah? You don’t look it.”
“……I’m done drinking.”

He told me to go ahead and stop. And honestly, I had been drinking entirely by choice up to that point, no pressure from him. I got up from my seat, went to the bathroom, washed my hands and face, and started to feel like I was sobering up.
And then… what happened next? I think I drank a little more? I remember asking Heejae why he hadn’t had even one drink. And then he laughed.
“I told you I’m a lightweight.”

I think that’s what he said.
I remember thinking I didn’t like that smug smile. Did I hit him? I’m not sure. Anyway, at that point I was still mostly sober and fully aware.
But I was letting my guard down. Heejae kept grinning and pouring me drinks, feeding me bites of food, and that’s where I started slipping. That was the problem. As soon as I leaned my chin on my hand at the table, he stopped feeding me chicken and asked:

“There’s something I’ve been wondering.”
“What?”
“You’ve known me for a while, haven’t you, noona?”
“What are you talking about?”

“You’ve got another main account besides Sesam, don’t you?”
Ah… so it was about the game? I nodded without resistance. Then he asked what my main was. I think I got annoyed.
“What do you care?”

“Why won’t you tell me?”
“Why are you even bringing this up now…”
Heejae had always been annoying, but dealing with him drunk was worse. So I lost my patience and just started talking. It came out in bits and pieces, but Heejae kept interjecting, asking questions, and before I knew it, I had told him the entire story about [Yeongil].

“So you… you were gonna… put me on TreeWiki… right.”
“……”
Eventually, I even ended up explaining how I became a netkama. But his expression was strange—like he was holding back laughter, or maybe just dumbfounded…

He stared at me for a long moment before asking:
“But then, why’d you call 119?”
What? I frowned at the unfamiliar phrase, then remembered—I’d called an ambulance when he got sick.

“……I don’t know.”
“Noona, were you starting to like me back then?”
“Are you out of your mind? That’s absolutely not it.”

Every time I argued back, Heejae stuffed something into my mouth. Like he was trying to shut me up with food. And then, like he was brainwashing me, he just kept running his mouth.
“Noona, you’re gonna miss me when I’m gone.”
“I’ll be relieved.”

“If we stop talking after chatting every day, you’ll get really anxious.”
“No, I won’t.”
“Then why’d you get jealous over Yuna?”

“……”
“See? You can’t even deny it.”
He made that big deal out of me missing one comeback while chewing, and I almost punched him. But I didn’t even get close. As soon as I moved, the dizziness hit me hard.

He caught me just as I nearly slumped over the table. Even when I clearly said “Get off,” full of irritation, Heejae didn’t let me go.
Let me be clear: I wasn’t drunk enough to black out at that point. I just couldn’t control my body properly. But the bastard wrapped me tightly in his arms and whispered with a smug grin:
“Noona, why are you clinging to someone you hate so much?”

“……”
“Hm? If you hate me, push me away.”
I wanted to tell him he was the one grabbing me, but my tongue was already soaked in alcohol, too sluggish to speak, and my limbs weren’t moving properly either.

Then, without warning, Heejae scooped me up into his arms. The hand under my butt startled me enough to nearly sober up, but he ignored my squirming and calmly carried me into his room.
‘This… is kinda dangerous, isn’t it?’
That thought flashed across my mind, and I whispered into his ear to get lost. I definitely remember saying that. Heejae looked right at me and grinned.

“What are you so upset about?”
“……”
“What exactly were you imagining…?”

Did I curse at him after that? I probably did. I don’t remember exactly. Either way, Heejae left me with that cryptic remark and laid me on his bed. Then he went into the bathroom alone.
I remember that image of his back so clearly through my half-closed eyes. I kept thinking, ‘No, this isn’t right. This is bad. I have to get up…’ but I couldn’t fight off sleep. I passed out like that. I think I felt something being draped over me midway through, but that’s where my memory cuts off.
* * *

‘Fuck.’
The moment I opened my eyes in the morning and saw Shin Heejae sleeping next to me, everything from last night came flooding back like a Paranoma skill to the brain.
‘Are you seriously insane?’

I was so pissed at myself. No matter how charming he acted, I know what kind of bastard he is… I swallowed a curse, unsure who it was even directed at, and quickly checked my body and the area around the bed.
“…Haa.”
Thankfully, my clothes were all still on. Just a blanket over me, nothing else had changed. But right as I sighed in relief, Heejae—who I’d assumed was asleep—spoke with his eyes still closed.

“Disappointed?”
“Ugh!”
I was so startled I jumped, rolled off the bed, and landed on the floor. Heejae sat up with a yawn, watching me. That calm expression made me snap. I hurled the pillow that had fallen with me straight at him and shouted:

“You crazy bastard!”
He caught the pillow mid-air, annoyingly smooth, and looked down at me from the bed. Then he smirked and said:
“Crazy bastard? ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) Weren’t you calling me cute last night?”

“What?”
“You don’t remember?”
What the hell is he talking about? My heart sank with dread as I looked up at him. Did something else happen after I fell asleep? But I’m still wearing the same clothes and feel totally normal…

“Wow. You really don’t remember.”
Heejae said that, then pulled the blanket off himself. Of course, this bastard wasn’t wearing a shirt, and his bare chest was right in my face.
I recoiled instinctively and asked:

“Yesterday… did I do something?”
Even as I panicked, Heejae yawned again and gave me a slow once-over. That arrogant look made me want to curse, but his reply came first:
“I recorded it on video.”

“…What?”
“You said it was okay to film, remember?”
I stared between him and the phone charging on the table, dumbfounded. Then I lunged for it—but Heejae, like he’d been expecting it, snatched it up first.

“You son of a—hand it over!”
“Whoa, didn’t you promise not to curse at oppa anymore?”
“What the hell?! You wanna die?!”

Even as I snapped, Heejae casually raised the phone over his head. If I wanted to pull it down, I’d have to tackle him.
But even if I did, I doubted he’d give it up that easily. I glared at him, shaking with frustration, then gritted my teeth and hissed:
“You’re bluffing. There’s nothing on it!”

“Wanna hear it?”
“……”
Heejae calmly unlocked his phone, and soon enough, the room filled with our voices—his and mine, low and unmistakable.

“Say it again.”
“…Haa… cute. You’re cute.”
“Me?”

“Yeah, yeah…”
Even yawning, I was clearly going along with his coaxing. That was definitely me.
