Chapter 41: Meeting A Flying Fortress
The only answer he had in mind was the village, so he kept using his divine sense to monitor the place, but he didn't find anything disturbing here at all.
'Something seemed off,' he muttered to himself, before deciding to retreat to the village, after deploying enough dragons to kill all the flying monsters. They were many, but weak, so the amount he released of his dragons, only one million of them, was enough to face these monsters and prevail.
He then retreated, towards the village, with his vigilance even more irritated.
"Is everything ok, my king?" Froki asked, in surprise and doubt.
"No," Ibro replied, before scanning the area once more, there was nothing there to alarm him, and that was alone alarming in itself.
"Something seemed off," Ibro said, as he paused with an idea popping up in his mind. Without delay, he darted towards the market, while ordering:
"You stay here, and lead all the skeletons to finish off the monsters here and clear their lairs inside the mountains. Break all the forts there, and bring me their treasures."
Ibro had already reached the market, where Noda had reached him. she noticed his urgency, so she hurriedly asked:
"what's wrong? are they trying to attack from somewhere?"
Ibro nodded, as he entered the market, headed straight towards the bridge lying there, while replying:
"Yes, they are attacking my village. The attack here is just a decoy. I will go now, if you wanna come, then come."
He entered the bridge, to pass through it towards the next side. Once his senses were regained, a loud noise of chaos and many orders came to his ears. Without even turning to look at the bridge behind, as it shone again declaring the passage of Noda, he used his divine sense to sweep the village, as he darted outside the market.
'Damn you, you came here to attack my village while I was away! Let me show you what despair really means!'
Ibro was really angry, very angry this time. He didn't think his enemy would outplay him, in this smart way. His only consolation was that he discovered this trap, early, without losing so much.
So, Ibro then soared to the sky, announcing his presence to everyone here. His village was still on the way to recovery from the previous war, and despite having so many skeletons right now defending it, the war was on two fronts already, the surface and the underground parts.
He didn't delay in scanning the area with his divine sense, to find, to his amazement, that these monsters were all higher than the ones which attacked his village from before.
There were a vast variety of monsters down there, including hard shell monsters, with huge bodies that acted like defenders. There were flying monsters, long range monsters, even seize-like monsters, with extensions like tails and horns that were designed to break down any village defenses like walls, towers, and gates.
The war had already started couple of hours ago, at the time he suspected it would begin at Noda's village. he didn't rashly act, as he knew the key of this war wasn't to attack head on, but to attack the command of this huge army, cut them off the rest of the monsters, and after than create a pincer attack with his newly formed skeletons and humans.
He stood there, while Noda was feeling numbness from the vast numbers of monsters she was seeing in front of her. This was, somehow, similar to the battle of her village.
On the contrary to her village, Ibro's village was still standing in front of these monsters. She now understood the remarks Ibro gently gave to her, regarding the defenses of her village. She couldn't believe how sturdy walls, many strong towers played in this war, and she couldn't believe a village would be attacked like this and still stand at the end.
Ibro finally noticed a place where many strong monsters were gathering. They weren't anyway near the front line, so their presence there meant only one thing, they were defending the commanders of this army.
"Found you," he muttered, while moving rapidly towards that spot. He wasn't let go off that easily on his way, as the monsters kept firing from the ground on him, while the flying monsters kept chasing him. He still had a card he didn't use yet, the skeleton army he was mustering inside his worlds, and the increasing numbers of flying dragons.
He didn't intend to deploy them here, especially when he wanted to use his newly formed human army. Although the army was now getting stronger inside his worlds, by fighting off the demons there, he also wanted them to appear here, gain more experience in fighting monsters, not demons.
He wanted to give most of them to his village, and then he would grant Noda some of them for her own protection. As he moved under all these threats, he had to act using his sword, unleashing his whirlpool strike one after another.
So far, he hadn't met an enemy that drove him to use his ultimate energy, not in this war it seemed.
Just as his striked kept raging everywhere, other monsters had already focused on him, which made him receive more attention and attacks.
Despite that, he kept flying towards his destination, and the more he moved deeper, the more extensive attacks he received.
Once he reached the place, he was astonished to find the monsters there had already built a fortress, underground, with a great hole on the surface, to make its top appear.
It was weird, and it was the first time he saw something like this. The presence of this castle underground made it inappropriate to attack it from the surface. He needed to enter the underground through this hole, but he also felt skeptical about it. if he went in, and the hole was closed, how could he then help his village?
This made him not rush into the castle, instead he just sighed. Since he came here, he started depleting his own storage of the runes, one after another, without having the chance to make any new runes.
So, he took out one rune, and threw it towards the castle to test things here. if there was any sort of a trap, it would appear under the effect of this rune.
Once the runes touched the hard surface of this castle, it was ignited, sharply, but strangely everything vanished from his sight. The surface was not intact again, and he didn't even feel the aftershock of the runes, not even feeling anything at all.
'That damn old trick of teleportation again!'
Ibro gritted his teeth as he muttered to himself in frustration. This was a very old trick of the demons, and for so long they stopped using it on him, as he already was guarding against it.
Despite being wary, he didn't think about this old trick of theirs. So, he was lucky, and also he lamented himself for being careless.
Without wasting anymore time, he started to check the place around him, looking for any other possible place to be the command centre of this army.
This time, he didn't need to look for so long, as this command centre just appeared, distant to the south from his place, where another castle appeared, this time it was floating in the air.
It was like a gigantic cloud, an island flying in the air. The sides of this beast were lined with sturdy walls, fortified by many inscriptions. Ibro could see many towers, defensive and offensive, and five super long and extremely large towers rising from the depth of this flying castle, like ship sails.
'Is there even such a thing?'
Ibro questioned his sense, but when he saw it from far away with his naked eyes, he started to believe.
The trap was meant to send him far away from here, while this colossal castle would hit his village hard, and after it might destroy Noda's village as well.
When he tried to scan this inside of this castle, his divine sense was blocked by some sort of a huge defensive shield. It wasn't surprising for something that big and mighty to be there without proper protection.
The only problem for Ibro right now was regarding this castle, he didn't want to destroy it, he wanted to snatch it for himself!
However, the castle was drawing near his village. if he didn't act soon, his village would be threatened.
So, he made up his mind, went towards that castle without any pause, even his strikes weren't used, evading all the attacks coming at him, until he reached this castle.
Just being there above it, made him feel more ecstatic to grab it under his wing. It was massive, much huger than what he initially thought.
"It's time to crack this shield open then."
He muttered, as he started to use his most powerful attack.
'Nefrisca Santo Janigmay.'
'Nefrisca Santo Janigmay.'
'Nefrisca Santo Janigmay.'
.
.
.
'Nefrisca Santo Janigmay.'
'Nefrisca Santo Janigmay.'
'Nefrisca Santo Janigmay.'
'Sa Romy Dai.'
'Alfa Ta Shtoy.'
'Sa Romy Dai.'
'Alfa Ta Shtoy.'
A big bubble appeared surrounding him, while he used his PSR energy, injecting it into the two swords, while performing the most strongest single opponent strike he had, the dragon descent strike, and he wasn't planning to do just one, he was performing two at the same time, hitting the same point simultaneously.
"Let me see you shatter!"
