DC World—Gotham, Dirk Street.
Hogg United's new headquarters was located here, nestled between Aylesbury Community on the left and Hogg Street on the right.
On the surface, it appeared to be nothing more than a modest second-hand car dealership. However, while "small" in description, the lot itself occupied more than half an acre—around two thousand square meters. In the automotive industry of the United States, even minor used car dealers needed significant space to operate.
Larger dealerships often covered several acres and housed hundreds of vehicles, sometimes forming chain enterprises. In other words, Hogg United had expanded significantly, solidifying itself as the dominant gang in the area.
With over a hundred members now under its banner, a headquarters of this size was a necessity.
Currently, the lot held only a dozen or so used cars, but the accountant was in the process of securing inventory to legitimize the business. A functioning car dealership could be an excellent front, generating revenue while serving as a highly efficient money-laundering operation.
Beyond the customer lounge, sales office, and the maintenance bay at the back of the dealership lay Hirito's private laboratory—his true base of operations.
More than three hundred square meters of the facility were dedicated solely to his work.
"Yeah, yeah, I got it. I'm not lying to you. That's all the samples I have. One of the materials is missing? What material? An unknown organic compound? How the hell would I know? If you can't find it, ask Mr. Victor if he has a substitute. That's all," Hirito said, balancing a phone between his shoulder and ear as he carefully placed the remaining ten milliliters of Titan Venom into a freezer.
There was no way he was handing over all of it to Two-Face and Mr. Freeze. Even if the substance was useless to him now, it was still a valuable memento from his time in Arkham—worth keeping, if only as a trophy.
After ending the call, Hirito resumed his work.
At the moment, his job was... tailoring.
The scraps of high-strength flexible rubber fiber he had left over from modifying Black Gold's simulated muscle lining had been sitting around. He figured he might as well put them to good use.
The previous night, Blackgate Prison had erupted into a full-scale riot, and Batman—wrapped in his signature black bodysuit and cape—had once again dominated the front pages of Gotham's news.
That gave Hirito an idea.
If Batman could glide through the city using a reinforced fireproof, waterproof, and bulletproof cape, why couldn't he?
But wearing a cape felt... excessive. It was practically an invitation for trouble. A windbreaker, on the other hand, was both practical and stylish.
One of the gang's younger members had been a tailor before turning to crime. With his help, Hirito learned the basics, acquired some additional materials, and got to work.
The interior lining of his new creation combined Wayne Enterprises' flexible rubber fiber with Kevlar, ensuring superior elasticity and resistance to impact.
He called it: Swift.
When worn normally, Swift functioned as a lightweight, bulletproof windbreaker.
But its true purpose lay in its integration with Black Gold.
When combined with his puppet, Swift connected directly to internal mechanical components, enhancing mobility. The modifications also gave it a built-in ejection system—something crucial for emergency escapes.
In a critical situation, if Black Gold couldn't hold off an enemy, Hirito could activate the ejection mechanism, which would send him flying over 100 meters into the air.
At that height, he could deploy Swift as a paraglider and escape, using chakra threads to control the descent.
The design didn't even require memory metal skeletons like Batman's cape.
If needed, the second gear ejection mode could launch both Hirito and Black Gold together. While not as high, it would still allow for enhanced mobility, creating opportunities for hit-and-run tactics.
By the time night fell, the project was complete.
"Perfect."
Hirito clapped his hands together, admiring the finished product.
The windbreaker was primarily black, accented with white to break up the monotony. The slim fit design ensured agility, while the split-tailed hemline resembled the wings of a swallow.
"A masterpiece," he mused. "Not only practical but stylish. If I get the chance, I should have the main body in the Naruto world craft something similar. Paired with Wind Speed Jutsu, the gliding speed and altitude should be insane."
In reality, the design was heavily inspired by a high-end brand he had once admired online. Though his craftsmanship was lacking, the result was functional and sleek.
At 6:40 PM, the accountant entered, holding a schedule in one hand.
"Boss, it's almost seven. Mr. Cobblepot sent an invitation this morning. He wants to meet at the Iceberg Lounge to discuss a business opportunity."
Hirito, carefully adjusting the last stitch on his coat, looked up.
"Let's go, then. And make sure Black Gold gets loaded into the car."
The crew promptly disassembled Black Gold into transportable sections and packed it into the trunk.
Fifteen Minutes Later—Iceberg Lounge
A line of sleek black cars rolled to a stop outside Gotham's most infamous nightclub.
Aman, serving as Hirito's driver, stepped out first, opening the door.
The moment Hirito emerged, a familiar voice greeted him.
"Oh, my dear friend! You're looking particularly stylish today."
The Penguin waddled toward him, umbrella in hand, exuding his usual exaggerated charm.
Despite his formal black tuxedo and white dress shirt, his stocky frame and round belly made him look more comical than intimidating.
True to his namesake, Oswald Cobblepot bore an uncanny resemblance to a penguin in a suit.
In contrast, Hirito—tall, broad-shouldered, and wrapped in his newly crafted windbreaker—looked sleek and refined.
Penguin's eyes gleamed as he appraised him.
"You're looking quite refined yourself, Oswald," Hirito replied smoothly, extending a hand.
The two men exchanged a firm, but insincere handshake.
Both were smiling.
Both were lying.
And both knew it.
